1 A whirlwind adventure through some of Morocco s scenic and cultural highlights, this journey brings together the captivating charms of Marrakech, the breathtaking landscapes of the High Atlas and the beaches of the Atlantic coast. Starting amongst the medinas of Marrakech, you ll have chance to enjoy the distinctive ambience of the city s famous Djeema El Fna, with its storytellers and snake charmers, before heading into the snow-capped peaks of the High Atlas, Africa s highest mountain range. Amongst these rugged landscapes you will visit Berber villages and experience something of life in the shadow of North Africa s highest mountain, Djebel Toukbal.

2 Winding your way back down onto the plains, you then turn towards the coastal waters of the Atlantic and the captivating town of Essaouira, one of Morocco s most picturesque settings. Enclosed behind fortified ramparts, Essaouira s mix of quiet beaches and meandering alleyways provides a leisurely end to this Moroccan adventure. 3 Itinerary Day 1: Marrakech Arrive in Marrakech and transfer to your luxury Riad. Day 2: Marrakech Marrakech is a city to dazzle the senses and today there will be a full day sightseeing tour to introduce you to its delights. Highlights include the marvellous Djemaa El Fna Square - once a site of public execution, now full of storytellers and snake charmers; the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace and the beautiful Majorelle Gardens. 4 Day 3: Marrakech - High Atlas Spend the morning exploring Marrakesh at your leisure before heading up into the snow-capped mountains that watch over the city. You will spend the next three nights in the shadow of North Africa's highest mountain (Djebel Toubkal 4167m), and the views are spectacular. (B,D) Day 4: High Atlas This morning meet your guide at the hotel and head to Assagou village (1740m) from where you will start a nice ascending walk through pine trees to Ouaoufghrast hill (2300m). This is a great spot for breathtaking views of the green valley and the snow capped peaks as the backdrop.you will then continue following a footpath to Aremd village and then carry on to Iswale river bed (1900m). From there follow an ascending path known as the main route to Toubkal summit to the shrine (2300m) that is visited mostly by pilgrims in summer time. The last section to Tizi Zgarren (2500m) offers great views of Mizane valley and its entrenched berber villages as you return to Assagou village. (B,L,D) Total walking time: 5 hours

5 Day 5: High Atlas Free day to enjoy the fresh mountain air and fantastic scenery. (B,L,D) Day 6: High Atlas - Essaouira Winding back down towards and then through Marrakesh, it is on to Essaouira. Fronted by dramatic sea bastions and surrounded by walled fortifications, the Atlantic breezes keep this harbour town cool even in the height of the summer. After checking into your hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure. (B)

6 Day 7: Essaouira Today you are free to spend the day walking the ramparts and exploring the back alleys of the enclosed Medina. Stroll along the sandy beach and watch the fisherman bring in their haul. (B) Day 8: Essaouira - Marrakech After breakfast transfer back to Marrakech, to spend some time leisurely sightseeing on your own and perhaps shopping in the colourful souks. (B) Day 9: Marrakech Transfer to the airport for your return flight. (B)

7 Accommodation Essaouira Villa Maroc Explore the wonders of Essaouira and relax on the beach at the Villa Maroc. The small, inter-connecting lounges and niches where meals are served provide intimacy but still allow for interaction with other hotel guests. The interior is adorned with local ornaments and architectural design but still obtains modern comforts and amenities. Join the chef for a trip to the local market and discover how to make homemade Moroccan cuisine. The twenty one rooms have modern comforts and come with separate living rooms. 8 Imlil Douar Samra Guest House The Douar Samra is situated at an altitude at 1850 m in the Atlas Mountains, 20 minute walk or mule ride from the village of Imlil, which is 90 minute drive from Marrakesh. Integrated into a traditional Berber village -made up of thirty or so traditional stone and rammed-earth dwellings-, the Douar Samra has been carefully restored using ancient, traditional methods. The residence has been decorated and furnished to reflect Berber living and consequently the style is simple with all furnishings, rugs and coverings sourced from local craftsmen. There are 10 bedrooms distributed in three different buildings, each with its own bathroom, some with fireplace or with balcony. In keeping with the natural feel, the rooms in the main building don't have lights or electricity and the candle-lit evenings add to the warm atmosphere. The Douar Samra has a roof terrace with spectacular panoramic views, a hammam, and serves traditional Berber cuisine prepared and cooked to the highest standard. Marrakech Riad Monceau Located just off Djemaa El Fna square of Marrakech, the five-star traditional Riad Monceau is a fantastic option whether you are recovering from a flight or exploring the city further. The original Riad dates back to the 18th Century and is a beautiful example of Hispano-Moorish architecture. Following a renovation in 2002, the exquisite building now boasts luxury amenities and comforts. There are only ten rooms, all featuring jacuzzi baths. The owner is an artist and you will see examples of her work around the building, designed to compliment the traditional mosaics and intricate reliefs. The refreshing pool is paved with Carrara marble and has views of the Koutoubia mosque. The luxury spa is a highlight with massage rooms, a gorgeous hamman and a roof-top jacuzzi terrace.
