1 August 17 UPTON MARINA NEWSLETTER... BERTH HOLDERS PARTY SATURDAY 16 th September 2017 FROM 7.30PM TIL LATE PARTY TIME in The Wheelhouse Bar. Supper and music are free to all berth-holders. The theme this year is VIKINGS So get your outfits ready!! Tickets are now available in the Marina Office for all berth-holders 2 tickets per boat WELCOME Welcome to all our new berth-holders this year. We hope you are all enjoying being at Upton Marina and have enjoyed the good weather, and a bit of rain!! We hope you have also enjoyed all the festivals locally and the entertainment which takes place every weekend in The Wheelhouse Bar & Restaurant. Also a big thank you to all our old berth-holders for your continued loyalty and support. We appreciate having you all here. WILDLIFE NEW STAFF MEMBER You may have already met Oliver Wylie a new member to the sales Office. If you would like to call in and have a chat to Olly please do. You may have noticed that our pair of swans had eight cygnets this year and due to the very attentive parenting, all have survived and are now quite big. The family will probably stay with us now until next Spring when the youngsters will be made to leave to make ready for another family. The Canadian Geese did not have any goslings this year, but we had plenty of ducklings which always look really cute!!

SHOWER BLOCKS PARKING AT THE MARINA Just a reminder that only 2 cars are allowed to park at the Marina at any one time - per boat. During the next few months we are going to update some of the shower blocks so that they are much more inviting. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. Please be patient!! SPEEDING ON SITE The speed limit on the Marina site is 5MPH. Some customers are driving far too fast on site. We have children, pets and wildlife wandering around and there could be a nasty accident. 3 MARINE PERFORMANCE Chandlery and Service Centre The Chandlery is open 10.00am till 4.00pm everyday (except Tuesdays) including Bank Holidays. We carry large stocks on site but any other items required can be ordered within approx. 2-3 days. We can compete with internet prices on most items and in addition to this if you have any queries or problems with your purchase it can be resolved easier than parts ordered over the internet. For all parts enquiries please speak to Lee for service or accounts enquires please speak to Naomi or ROADWORKS - ACCESS TO THE MARINA The A4104 access road to Upton Marina is to undergo a Highway Flood Adaption Scheme which will affect the access to and from the Marina. The works will start in October 2017 and be completed by April Below is a summary of the works to be undertaken:upton upon Severn Highway Flood Adaptation Scheme Scheme summary Raise 530 metres of the road Raise by up to 0.8 metres (2.5ft) Improve road drainage Increase number of culverts under the road Widen the road Partially re-align the road This scheme will resolve the flooding issues on the A4104 access road to the Marina (see photo of previous flooding) uptonmarina@tingdene.net

5 BOAT SALES As you may have noticed the boat sales has been really busy this year, so much so that the pontoon is nearly empty!!! If you are thinking of selling your boat, please let us know and we will be happy to discuss your needs. We have a spacious outdoor decking area with beautiful views to the Marina. Large car park available for customers. If your evacuation route from the pontoons is blocked, gather at the safest point on your pontoon and await rescue boat (Marina Workboat).
