Make tracks to this natural gem from L.A, with notable stops en route including sunny San Diego, the mighty Grand Canyon, Zion National Park and wickedly wild Las Vegas. After you ve packed in a couple of days on the snowy slopes in Tahoe, hit up San Fran to get up close and personal with some friendly sea lions and chow down on chowder at the famous pier. Naturally. 2 Day 1 - Los Angeles, California to San Diego Know much about San Diego besides Ron Burgundy? Nope? That's okay. With a coastline position that's close enough to high-five Mexico, it's all about how many fish tacos you can consume in the next 48 hours anyway. Get acquainted on our city tour with beaches, San Diego Harbor and Downtown, oh my! Surfers froth over San Diego for its variety of breaks within (almost) paddling distance. Look out for pros like Rob Machado in the line-up. Total beginner? Try La Jolla Shores. Tonight, hit up Gaslamp Quarter or seek out rooftop bars for cocktails with a view. -San Diego city tour -Nightclub crawl Day 2 - San Diego We suggest you keep today classy with a ride on a historic trolley, a jaunt through the Spanish-style Balboa Park and a visit to San Diego Zoo (one word: pandas). Hone your craft beer vocab with a self-guided tour through over 80 breweries and brewpubs in "America's Craft Beer Capital". Or just get in on the sun and surf action along the 70 miles (112 km) of beaches. -Water sports -Baseball game (seasonal) Day 3 - San Diego to Prescott, Arizona Joshua trees are like a mutant cactus-cross-pandanus and you'll only spot them in Southwest USA. Drive through the tree-dotted landscape of the Mojave desert to Prescott (home of the world's oldest rodeo), where cowboy hats are part of the locals' uniform and Whiskey Row is the place to be. Soak up some of the lingering history from the notorious strip of gun-slinging saloons that once stood there. Day 4 - Prescott to Grand Canyon region On our way to that big hole in the ground, we make a stop in Arizona's 'little Hollywood', Sedona - a spiritual mecca in the desert (and set of many a John Wayne film). Say a few 'oms' and find some zen amongst the red sandstone on the optional jeep tour before we travel towards the Grand Canyon.

3 -Sedona jeep tour Day 5 - Grand Canyon Ready to "go big or go home"? You've seen pictures, but nothing can prepare you for the humility that comes with standing on the precipice of something so mighty. With a day at the Grand Canyon you can see billions of years of rock history from every angle including a 360 panorama if you take the chopper. -Grand Canyon National Park entry -Helicopter tour Day 6 - Grand Canyon to Zion National Park region, Utah Urban hippies rejoice! A stop at the Cameron Native American Trading Post will soothe twitching shopping withdrawals with drums and silver jewellery. Continue the journey with stops at Horseshoe Bend on the Colorado River and Glen Canyon Dam - one of the largest dams in the United States, and the reason for Lake Powell's existence. Day 7 - Zion National Park to Las Vegas, Nevada Zion means the kingdom of heaven - once you arrive, you'll see why. Millions-year-old sweeping sandstone canyons, iridescent waterfalls and ethereal landscapes make this a hiker and photographer's utopia. Strap on your boots and walk along the canyon floor or heed the challenge up to Angel's Landing. The views are so worth it. Then we'll make like a condor and soar across the desert to a little town called Las Vegas. Tonight: a nightclub on wheels (and pockets full of casino chips?). -Zion National Park entry -Las Vegas party bus -Nightclub crawl Day 8 - Las Vegas If you do manage to wake up this morning without a kidnapped tiger in your room, and with all your teeth, you obviously didn't do it right. But that's probs just as well as where else in the world can you take a gondola ride down a Venice canal, see the Pyramids of Giza and the Eiffel Tower, all before lunchtime? Can you say 'best day ever'? Yep, it's as cheesy as a stuffed-crust pizza, but it is also really cool. Later on suit up, stroll in and put it all on 'black' like the high roller you are! Just remember, what happens in Vegas

4 -High Roller Observation Wheel -Shooting Range Day 9 - Las Vegas to Lake Tahoe Cash in your chips (or cut your losses) and give Mike Tyson his tiger back - we're swapping bright lights for deep pow pow! Straddled across the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the sunniest places in the world yet it still gets 12 metres of snow a year. Day 10 - Lake Tahoe Our location in the southern area of the lake means access to some of the best slopes just waiting for you to shred and carve. Sharpen your skills with lessons and gear rental, and nail that frontside 1080 stalefish you've been practising - yeah whatever! -Skiing/snowboarding, lessons, equipment rentals -Snowmobiling Day 11 - Lake Tahoe If you're yet to join the ranks of Red Bull's extreme team, there are plenty of non-skiing activities on offer. Jump in a helicopter and check out the terrain from above, take a snowmobile tour, go ice-skating or just chill out in town - backside 24/7. -Skiing/snowboarding, lessons, equipment rentals -Snowmobiling Day 12 - Lake Tahoe to San Francisco, California

5 The colour orange is associated with extroverts and the unconventional - so apt for San Fran. Add a bit of 'International Orange' to your life when we tick off SF's best with Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach, Chinatown, the Painted Ladies and a walk on the Golden Gate Bridge. Then: sail into the sunset on our optional cruise. -San Francisco sightseeing tour Day 13 - San Francisco Today, you're free to roam. Trolley rides, honking sea lions at Pier 39 and pitting yourself against the incline of Lombard Street would be our picks. NOTE: If you want a "get into jail" pass to visit Alcatraz, do the crime (of booking) BEFORE you come on tour. Day 14 - San Francisco Our time together might be over, but we're betting you're not ready to say goodbye. Stick around in the Frisco and explore the city deeper with a flower in your hair. Accommodation We have endeavoured to select a combination of good quality hotels that reflect the character of the local area and are as centrally located as possible, all the while striving to keep the cost affordable. Standards and ratings may however differ to what you are accustomed to in your own country. The 'More Inclusions' section of this document details what type of accommodation is used for our overnight stops. If you are a solo traveller, you will always be sharing a room with someone of the same sex. If you are travelling as a couple and would prefer to have a double bed, please officially request a double room with your travel agent or Topdeck trip consultant. We never presume that two people travelling together are a couple, even if you share the same surname, unless informed otherwise. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have booked pre or post trip accommodation, please note that most hotels in North America require you to present a credit card at check-in, even if your accommodation is pre-paid. The hotel will either place a temporary hold on a set amount (called a pre-authorisation) or will make a manual swipe of the card. This is done to cover incidentals, for example you consume something from the mini-bar, or you damage the hotel room. Your card will NOT actually be charged unless you use the mini-bar, etc. Please ask the hotel front desk clerk for a further explanation when checking in if you are unsure about why they need the card. Again, this is standard procedure at most hotels and is typically not something you need to be concerned about. Optional Activities On all trips we have arranged extra activities that we think will enhance your travel experience, but you have a choice as to whether or not you will participate. These are not included in the cost of your trip. They are usually organised on a group participation basis and should be taken into consideration when budgeting your spending money.

However, amidst the fun and excitement, it s important to be aware of your surroundings and personal safety as well. Before you hit the road with us, it s important to be aware of the following: When you re on a night out, remember to avoid walking alone, particularly through deserted areas like beaches and back streets. Always stick together, take a taxi where possible, and keep a note of your accommodation details so you can find your way back to your fellow Topdeckers if you become separated. In some countries, alcoholic measures can be considerably larger than what you may be used to. Try to keep track of what you re drinking, and if you see one of your trip mates looking a little worse for wear, take them back to your accommodation. Be cautious when accepting drinks from strangers and never leave your drink unattended. It s also important to be aware that what you might consider harmless flirting may be interpreted differently in some countries. Be yourself and have fun, but don t be naïve, and be mindful of the signals you are sending out so that you don t find yourself in an uncomfortable situation.
