13 Regulatory Terminal Groins, NC In 2011, the North Carolina General Assembly lifted a 25-year ban on the construction of terminal groins (TG) along the coast of North Carolina. The Corps has or is reviewing 4 TG proposals including Bald Head Island, Figure Eight Island, Ocean Isle Beach and Holden Beach. 13

14 Regulatory - Shallow Draft Inlets, NC State/local governments anticipated to request permits to perform maintenance dredging in Federal channels including: Bogue Inlet, Carolina Beach Inlet Lockwoods Folly River New River Inlet New Topsail Inlet and Shallotte Inlet Carolina Beach Inlet 14

15 Regulatory Coastal Nourishment Projects, NC Permits being requested for numerous coastal nourishment projects are being undertaken and funded by municipalities. Recent projects include: Topsail Beach North Topsail Beach Oak Island Town Of Nags Head (completed) Duck, Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills Topsail Beach 15
