Beach, Swimming & Sunbathing The large public beach, Playa Espadilla, is on the road just before the exit of the National Park. It offers beach chairs, umbrellas, surfboards, boogie boards and snorkel rentals. Gift and souvenir stands are numerous along the beach. There are several small restaurants located in front of the beaches. Manuel Antonio National Park has 2 beautiful white-sand beaches for a more private day in the sun. There are no public food vendors in the park, so you must take your own supplies. Beaches outside of the park are free; inside the park costs $10 per person and it is closed on Mondays. All beaches can have strong currents or riptides, so please swim with caution and pay attention to the lifeguards. Do not leave your personal items unattended when at the beach. (Recommend camera, sunscreen, towel and small amounts of money.)

2 Bird Watching This activity is available from many of the local tours. (Recommend hiking shoes, binoculars, camera and sunscreen.) Butterfly and Reptile Gardens See more than 20 species of butterflies on this guided one-hour tour. Tours from 8:00am to 4:00pm daily, leaving every hour. $15pp for butterflies, or $20pp with reptiles. Night tour ($35pp) lasts 2 hours and must be reserved for 5:30pm. (Recommend sunscreen, hiking shoes or sandals, long pants, insect repellent, binoculars & camera.) Canopy Zipline Tour Canopy Safari: Price $70pp o Departures: 7:30am and.10:30am o Services: Located around 45 minutes outside of Quepos in the mountains, the area is surrounded by beautiful rainforest and includes 9 zip lines, 2 repelling, 1 Tarzan swing and 1 suspended bridge. They also offer a nice stroll through their Butterfly Farm and Reptile Display. Tour lasts approximately 5 1/2 hours. o Includes: Transportation, guide, equipment, breakfast or lunch. Titi Canopy: Price $55 pp and $65 pp at night. o Departures: 7:00am, 10:30am and 2:00pm (departures can change in low season) o Services: Located close to the local Quepos airport, you can enjoy 24 Platforms located in primary rainforest with 12 zip lines. Tours last approximately 2 ½ hours. o Includes: Transportation, equipment, guide, fruits & snacks and the evening tour (5:30 pm) includes dinner Carara Park Tour (can combine with Crocodile Tour-Tarcoles) Min. 4 pax Rancho Los Tucanes: Price $95pp or $112pp with Crocodile Tour Combo. o Departures: 7:30am o Services: Only about 90 minutes away from Quepos is Carara National Park o Having approximately 48% of all the species of birds of Costa Rica, Carara is one of the best places to enjoy beautiful exotic birds. Then choose to go to the Crocodile mangrove boat tour in Tarcoles River where you can enjoy seeing some of the largest crocodiles of this area. Includes: Transportation, bilingual guides, fruits, beverages, lunch. (Recommend hiking shoes or sandals, sunscreen, repellent and a camera.)

3 Snorkel and Dolphin Watch Planet Dolphin (Catamaran): Price $75pp o Departures: 8:30am and 1:30pm (departures change in low season). Spend approximately 4 hours looking for dolphins (and occasionally whales), touring the islands and snorkeling or swimming in front of beautiful white sand beaches. o Includes: Transportation, guide, drinks, light lunch or dinner and snorkel equipment. Sunset Sailing: Price $75pp o Departures: 8:30am and 1:30pm (departures change in low season). o Services: Same as above. Fresh Water Fishing (Recommend bathing suit, sandals, sunscreen, and camera at your own risk.) Private Tours: Prices start at $350 per boat o Departures: Depend on the tide; tour lasts approximately 4 hours o Services: Enjoy inshore fishing in the local mangroves. Maximum 4 pax per boat. o Common species caught are: Snook, Red Snapper, Grouper, Rooster Fish and other local freshwater fish. o Includes: Transportation, guide, drinks, beer, and fishing equipment. Horseback Riding (Recommend hat, sunscreen, and waterproof camera.) Finca Valmy: Price $70pp o Departures: 9:00am and 2:00 pm (departures change in low season) o Services: Ride well-trained horses through the nearby mountains passing by local farms and stopping at a beautiful waterfall for a swim. Tour lasts approximately 4-5 hours or more. o Includes: Transportation, guide, snacks, lunch or dinner. Rancho Los Tucanes: Price $65pp. o Departures: 8:30am and 1:30 pm (high season only). o Services: Same as above with a hike across bridge. Tour lasts approximately 4 hours. BEACH TOURS Rancho Savegre at Palo Seco. Price $58pp beach only, $85 beach and waterfall combo, or $85pp for private tours o Departures: 8:30am and 1:30pm. o Services: Travel around 35 minutes north to the beautiful isolated sector of Palo Seco where you can gallop on unblemished beaches. Choose to head inland to see the mangroves and stop at a waterfall for a swim if you want more than the beach. o Includes: Transportation, drinks, snacks and lunch or dinner. 4 Jet Ski Tour Canopy Safari Company: Prices: $115 single, $135 double. o Departures: 7:30am, 10:03am, 1:30am and 3:30pm. (The last two times are offered during high season only.) o Services: Spend approximately 2 hours touring the islands and looking for dolphins. Stop to visit white sand beaches where you can swim or snorkel. o Includes: Transportation, guide, life vest, drinks, snacks and snorkel equipment. (Recommend sunscreen, swim suit, towel, dry clothes and waterproof camera.) Mangrove Boat Tour Rancho Los Tucanes: Price $65pp Safari Mangrove Tour-$65pp Departures: Depends on the tide. o Services: Explore an entirely different ecosystem a short distance outside of Quepos. As your boats cruises through the delta swamps, it is common to view white-faced monkeys, caimans, boa constrictors, crocodiles and even the rare silky anteater. Tropical birds are abundant. (This tour also offers an incredible night Mangrove Boat Tour, inquire at the Tour Desk about the evening tour. $75pp). Total tour lasts approximately 4 hours. o Includes: Transportation, guide, lunch or dinner at a typical Costa Rican soda. (Recommend sunscreen and camera.) Mangrove Kayak Tour (Departure times for each kayak tour company below depend on the tide) Amigos del Rio: Price $65pp Rancho Los Tucanes: Price $65pp Unique Tours: Price $69pp Rios Tropicales: Price $69pp. o Services: Same as boat tour, while paddling in a kayak. 5 Manuel Antonio National Park Tour Private Local Certified Guides: Price $43pp Manuel Antonio Expeditions: Price $39pp or $50pp for private tours Rancho Los Tucanes: Price $43pp o Departures: 7:20am and 12:30pm. o Services: Home to over 100 species of mammals and 200 species of birds, Manuel Antonio is the most visited park in Costa Rica. Just off shore are 12 islands that serve as excellent seabird sanctuaries. Punta Cathedral (Cathedral Point) was once an island but over time has become connected to the land by a sandy belt known as a Tombolo, a protected nesting site for the Brown Booby. This is also where you can see dolphins and the occasional pod of migratory whales. The 2 white sand beaches are main attractions as well as the surrounding mountain views. There are guides available for hire just outside the National Park or we can contract guides for small groups or private park tours. Tours last approximately 4 hours. The park is open from 7:00am until 4:00pm daily and is closed on Monday. Tourist admission is $10 USD. o Includes: Transportation, guide, park entrance fee, drinks and snacks. (Recommend sunscreen, camera, comfortable shoes, bathing suit, and towel.) Mountain Bike Tour Estrella Tours: Prices Beginner (9 14 miles for 2 hours), $45; Medium (14 18 miles for 4 hours) $60; and Expert (18 miles for 4 5 hours) $75pp. o Departures: 8:00am. Transportation is not included, so guests must be at the office on time. o Services: Enjoy a challenging trip through the surrounding farms and communities. Duration of tour depends on your proficiency. Custom rides and overnight mountain adventures can be arranged with advance notice. o Included: Front suspension bikes, helmet, gloves, sport drink, water bottle, power bar and tropical fruits. (Recommend sunscreen and camera) Ocean Kayak Tour Amigos del Rio or Rancho Los Tucanes: Price $65pp Unique Tours: Price $69pp o Departure: 7:30am or 1:00pm o Services: Witness the most beautiful views of the coastlines of Costa Rica from the ocean on this 4-hour tour. The tour stops at one of the Park beaches for snacks, fruits, juices and cold water and ends with lunch near the entrance of the park. 6 Parasailing Aguas Azules: Price: $76pp for 15 minutes/$140pp for 30 minutes. No tandem. Must contact company to see what times are available. (Recommend sunscreen, bathing suit, camera, towel, dry clothes) Rainmaker Conservation Tour Rainmaker Tours: Price $70pp or $60pp if you drive there. o Departure: 7:30am (sometimes pm tour is available) o Services: Privately owned 3,000-acre reserve with a series of suspension bridges connected by platforms along the tree-top canopy with a dip in the waterfall pool o Includes: Juices, fruits, snacks and lunch (Recommend walking shoes, light clothes, swim suit, towel, binoculars, camera and dry clothes) Scuba Diving Oceans Unlimited: Price: $95pp 2-tank dive or $80pp 1-tank night dive o Departures: 8:00am and 1:00pm o Services: Explore local dive sites off the shores of Manuel Antonio with professional dive masters to give you proper instruction. o Includes: Transportation, dive equipment, guide, drinks and snacks. Spa Services (Recommend sunscreen, sunglasses, waterproof camera, towel and dry clothes.) There are several full-service, fabulous spas in our area, or if you prefer, we can arrange a wide variety of professional spa treatments, manicures, pedicures, etc., to be given in the comfort of Casa del Toro. Prices start at $75 and up for 1 hour. We recommend the local Spa Uno. Sunset Boat Ride (also see snorkel tours) Aguas Azules: Price $150 for min. 2 pax and $50 each additional pax. o Departure: from Mar y Sombra 4:30pm (in high season only) o Services: Take a cruise around the offshore islands stopping at Playa Beisanz Beach. Take a break in front of a white sand beach to snorkel or swim. Tour lasts around 2 1/2 hours and returns as the sun sets to the Quepos docks where they call a taxi. o Includes: Snorkel equipment, guide, drinks, or consult your tour guide if you want something special. (Recommend cap, sunscreen, waterproof camera, swim suit, towel and dry clothes.)

7 Surfing Lessons Mass Surf School: Price $65pp Tropical Surf School: Price $ pending new company o Departures: Depends on tides. o Services: Learn to surf like a pro, even those that have never attempted this sport. Classes are taught by locals who know the waves and want you to master the task as quickly as possible. o Includes: Transportation, surfboards, guide, surf shirt, fruit and drinks. (Recommend swim suit, sunscreen, towel, dry clothes and camera). Ultralight Tours Costa Rica Skyriders: Price $39, $59, $79, $110 & $180 for 12, 18, 24, 35 minutes, and 1 hour. Experience a bird s eye view of the area from above. Shorter tours fly over only the Quepos area, while the longer tours fly to or all the way throughout the park. (Recommend sunscreen and camera.) Villa Vanilla Spice Tour Finca Villa Vanilla: Prices $50pp with transport or $35pp in your own car. o Departures: Must book in advance for space. o Services: Spend approximately 2 ½ hrs learning about the local cultivation of fresh spices and their distribution from a local farm around ½ hrs drive. o Includes: Transportation (if wanted), guide, refreshments and snacks. (Recommend sunscreen, comfortable shoes and camera).

8 White Water Rafting Amigos del Río: Prices ½ day $69pp, ¾ day $79pp and full day $98pp o Departures (can change according to season): 7:00am and 12:30pm o Services: -- ½ day tour: has Class III rapids; the Naranjo River drops steeply from the mountains above Quepos offering a thrilling experience for all. Rating is Difficult, age restrictions required. Departure is 7:30am -- ¾ day tour: A 3-hour rafting trip of the Savegre River with class II & III rapids; there are great swimming holes and a large variety of birds to be seen on this trip. Rating: Moderate to challenging, possible age restrictions. Departure is 7:30am -- full day tour: The fun lasts longer on this full-day 5 ½-hour guided rafting trip with class II & III rapids. Rating is moderate to challenging, possible age restrictions o Includes: Transportation, guide, and rafting equipment. Additionally the ½ day tour includes breakfast, snacks and beverages. 12:30 departure includes snacks, and the ¾ and full-day tours include full breakfast (if requested) and a riverside picnic lunch. Rios Tropicales (H2O Adventures): $79pp ¾ day or $95 full day Ranchos Los Tucanes: Price $98pp full day Savegre River. $69pp ½ day Naranjo River. o Departures: 8:00am (and 11:30am for ½ day) Unique Tours: $79pp ¾ day or $95 full day (Recommend sunglasses with floaty cord, closed shoes or hiking sandals, sunscreen, swim suit, towel, waterproof camera, and dry clothes) Private Boat and Yacht Rentals There are many options for this activity depending on the number of people and the size of the vessel you are interested in. Please consult Casa del Toro management for further details. Sport Fishing Luna Tours, Blue Fin, Good Day, Costa Mar, JP Sportfishing and many other companies. Prices range from $650 - $1500, depending on the boat size, length of trip and how many persons. o Service: Full day is recommended for better fishing, but 1/2 day excursions are also available. Please ask for present fishing conditions. Seasonal catches are Sailfish, Blue & Black Marlin, Roosterfish, Yellow Fin Tuna, Snook, Red Snapper, and Dorado. o Includes: Transportation, captain, first mate, fishing equipment, drinks, snacks and lunch. Fishing license is separate and costs $24pp (Recommend cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, towel and waterproof camera.)

9 Yoga Classes: There are several places offering yoga in the area. Please consult for times and prices, as it changes throughout the year. Please note: Casa del Toro works as an intermediary for the local tour operators. Though efforts have been made to carefully screen all tours before being recommended to our guests, we cannot be responsible for how the tour operators conduct their tours. We welcome all guest feedback in order to help us maintain the highest standards of safety and customer service. Prices and tour times are subject to change, so it is important to reserve the tour in advance with our house manager. Please remember, you will need to be waiting at the agreed upon pickup zone at your specified pick up time. Guests not on time could possibly miss their tour. Missed tours, or tours cancelled at the last minute may be subject to cancellation penalties from the tour operators, so please take measures to avoid this. Please remember to carry or wear the recommended items, and enough money (colones or US dollars) to tip your guides (if you so choose), and do not take expensive jewelry.
