10 C O M M U N I T Y S U P P O R T Cardon Resort is a 100% locally owned resort that generously gives back to the community. Cardon Resort employs a staff of about 20 people with family ties that run deep into our community. We put thousands of dollars into local projects from conservation to jobs. The list of what we do for our community is long. The rebuilding of schools and libraries has benefited the entire community as well as the education of over 100 school children. We contribute to local fishing & surf contests. Cardon Resort has some amazing employees especially the ladies. In traditional Mexican homes, husbands may not always approve of their wives working outside of the home as family responsibilities come first. Cardon Resort has designed flexible work schedules for housewives and students that allow them time to care of personal obligations. This makes it possible for the female staff members Ines, Rosy, Reyna, Irma, Chuy, Justina and Monica to work and still maintain a strong family presence. We are very proud of our students who travel many miles every day to attend classes. Celina and Karina are now attending College. It is our hope that younger employees like Mireya, will have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of our past staff members. Over the years we have worked with many local fishing guides and we are continually looking for ways to support the local fishing community. Cardon Resort is working with the State on behalf of our local fisherman to set up legal, environmentally sustainable fishing that will benefit the area and our community for years to come. As it stands, the resort is very beneficial to the community. They have given us the exclusive rights to rent to surfers. We work very hard with the local authorities to keep this area safe, pristine and beneficial to the local population.

11 T H E A C T I V I T I E S SURFING Cardon Adventure Resort is located in mainland Mexico, at the entrance to the Sea of Cortez. From April to November strong pacific ground swells funnel in with amazing consistency. The southerly swells pour down two beautiful point breaks. The rides are easily over 250 yards long into beautiful sandy bays. You have 3 spots to surf with a variety of conditions, from shifty hollow bowls to super long skate park perfection. Our ideal beach front location allows you to surf when you want and as long as you want, so you get the best waves. On small days the inside of the point is great for the kids to learn and improve their surfing. Whatever your skill level, the surf at Cardon Adventure Resort offers something for everyone so, bring the family.

12 T H E A C T I V I T I E S FISHING Deep sea fishing with Cardon Adventure Resort for marlin, sailfish, dorado, yellowfin tuna and shark is one of the best big game sport fishing experiences that you will find in the world. Deep sea fishing produces extraordinary catches of big game fish like marlin, sailfish, dorado, yellowfin tuna and many other species all year round, and with all our fishing boats here with Cardon Adventure Resort being designed for speed, comfortability and safety, your day or days of sport fishing with us will be a most memorable fishing experience. Light Tackle sport fishing is a great idea for the entire family. Light Tackle fishing trips produces a wide variety of small game fish with Snapper, Grouper, Barracuda, Trigger Fish, Rooster Fish and many, many other species which will ensure action for all to have fun and most of all, have a most memorable fishing experience with us while you are here fishing.

13 T H E A C T I V I T I E S FISHING Cardon Adventures Resort offers small game fishing trips daily with our fishing boats. The surf fishing can be quite fun at Cardon Adventure Resort. There are plenty of species to be had in the area and just about any point, beach or rocky shoreline will produce at least one or more of them. At any given time, the rocky areas and sandy coves can produce Trevally, Jack Crevelle, Pargo, Corbina, Snapper, Croaker, Torito, Snook, and several other species including the ultimate surf warrior, the mighty Rooster Fish. All of these can be taken on lures of one kind or another. Pretty much anything shiny will work for you crocodile lures, kastmasters and weight in swimbaits 3-6 inch are recommended. You should also bring sinkers that weight 2-4 ounce s. A dropper loop leader with about a 2/0 hooks for bait like shrimp and squid work great... When you can find it, live bait works great especially for Rooster Fish.

Bottom-feeders and shore lovers who spend most of their lives traveling. Join us for an exciting adventure into the world of whales and dolphins! Let our crew guide your journey through the waters surrounding Cardon searching for and observing whales in their natural habitat! Take amazing photographs of these gentle giants, as they work their way along the Mexican coastline! Set out in a Glacier Bay Power Catamaran with twin motor, with no more than 7 passengers, to achieve an up close and personal experience with magnificent humpback whales!

15 T H E A C T I V I T I E S HATCHLING RELEASE OF TURTLES Each year, hundreds of baby Sea Turtles are released by professionals, staff, as well as the guests at Cardon Resort. Sadly, very few Sea Turtles will live long enough to return to our beach and lay their eggs. When the turtles do reach sexual maturity and return to the same beach where they hatched, only half the battle for life has begun. Tragically, poachers kill the females, and dig up the nests for the eggs. Such practice lay to waste generations of sea turtles. We at Cardon Resort are very supportive protecting the endangered Sea Turtles. We hope that each and every year, the sea turtles will return to the beach at Cardon Resort and have a safe place to nest and lay their eggs.
