Photo Tabards All accredited photographers are obligated to wear a photo tabard. Tabards are available at the media centre ( 20 deposit cash). A deposit less then 20,00 will not be accepted. Make sure you pay the exact deposit. No money change available! Also a waiver of liability has to be signed here. Approval of a photo tabard is also shown at the top of your confirmation . Please note that tabard will NOT be handed to you when a photo jacket has not been confirmed, there is insufficient deposit paid or in the case a driver s license is given as deposit. There is no PIN or ATM available in the media centre. Visibility Tabards must be worn. DO NOT tuck them in your belt. Tabard Numbers MUST be visible at all times. Photographers are not allowed wear camera backpacks or put their own photo vests on top of the event tabards. If you enter the track via a gate, please assure yourself that officials can identify you as a photographer. Make sure they can see the number on your tabard. Photo tabards are strictly personal. Therefore it is not allowed to hand a photo tabard over to another person, whether this person has been officially accredited or not. Media Red Zones There are several Red Zones, these are indicated on the map at the end of this document. You are required to check this map and be aware of these restricted areas. Anyone caught taking photographs in these areas will be required to report to the National Press Officer to explain their actions and their track side access passes will be withdrawn. Also check the media red zone-regulations for the demonstrations. Please note that there are specific Red Zones active during the races. The Red Zones only apply for the races. Even if an area is not classified as a Red Zone, you must make your own assessment whether it is safe to stand in that area or not. The Race Director can add a Red Zone at any time if he deems an area to be unsafe. Working Trackside You must have a barrier between you and the track at all times when the track is live. It is forbidden to lean on, or over, the barriers. Always keep in mind that if a car crashes into the guardrail, that this barrier will come towards you. Therefore, always keep enough distance (min. 1 meter) between you and the guardrail. Further, you may not cross these barriers, or place your cameras on these barriers. Do not stand in breaks (f.e. recue car openings) in the barriers. If you want to cross over the track, you must ask permission of officials. Crossing is only allowed in between sessions and you must have a valid tabard for that specific part of the track. You should not stand in front of any debris fences unless authorized to do so. It s the photographers own responsibility to decide which locations are safe for photography, and which locations are not (besides the Media Red Zones). Additionally, make sure you are wearing correct shoes (no flip flops, sandals or shoes with high heels) Earplugs & Radio If you wear earplugs when working trackside you must ensure you are aware of your surroundings. When you are listening to the commentary on a radio, only use one ear piece, not two. The use of ipods and MP3 players when working trackside is strictly forbidden.

4 Crashes & accidents All photographers should always stay behind the barriers, also when they witness a big crash. If any photographer is seen on track (without barriers) during this event, they will be instantly be removed from the circuit. If you witness a crash where medical assistance is being given, please respect the medical privacy of the driver (and the people involved), keep distance of the incident and do not publish any details or images of the incident. Pitlane The pit-lane is a place of work, and can be dangerous. Wear sensible clothing. Shorts, skirts and open-toed shoes are not advisable when working anywhere on the circuit. However the pitlane is a working area and a dangerous environment. Fire proof suits are not mandatory but you may wear them during the event. Remain alert at all times. If someone is waving a pit board in front of you, a car is almost certainly coming up behind you. Get out of the way! Remember that cars want to leave as soon as possible after their stops. Be aware of this, and move to the back of the car rapidly. Pitlane access during start of the Race Please note that all pitlane staff and media are not allowed to come near the guardrail (Pit wall) in the pitlane, when a race is starting.
