3 1. RULES a) The FIG EC Meeting held in Vestfold (NOR) in July, approved the following motion: Background: The judging criteria Horizontal Displacement measured by a specific device has been introduced for the Olympic cycle. However, the Apparatus Norms, Parts III and IV, for such devices have not yet been developed and therefore no such device could be tested in Freiburg and subsequently certified by FIG. Therefore, during a transition period, additional judges are needed to determine this criteria, requesting a clarification in the Technical Regulations (7.8.2 c), the TRA Code of Points (Art. 19) and the World Cup rules (Art. 11). Using 2 from 6 E-judges to judge horizontal displacement is feasible, but reduces the quality of judging execution for TRA Individual. And for Synchro, it is not reasonable and fair to reduce the number of E-judge from 3 to 2 only for one trampoline. Proposal for clarification in Technical Regulation, TRA Code of Points and World Cup Rules: In case no HD measuring device is available, the President of the Superior Jury or the Chair of Judges Panel may form a judges panel with 2 additional E/H judges, provided a sufficient number of eligible judges are registered and present at the competition and the result system used by the organizer allows the use of these additional judges. b) The FIG Council held in Baku (AZE) in May, approved the following addition to the Technical Regulations, which will enter into force on 1 st January 2018: Individual Trampoline Final In case of a tie, at any place, the ranking will be determined by the following criteria: 1. The gymnast with the higher T-score prevails If there is still a tie, the tie will not be broken Synchronised Trampoline Final In case of a tie, in points at any place in the Finals, the ranking will be determined by the following criteria: 1. The gymnast with the higher sum of the E-scores of both passes prevails 2. The gymnast with the higher E-score of the second pass prevails

4 Tumbling Final In case of a tie, in points at any place in the Finals, the ranking will be determined by the following criteria: 1. 6 JUDGES COURSES As every new Olympic cycle starts, judges preparation takes the stage for the very first months. During the first semester of 2017, eight courses were conducted in BUL, GEO, GBR, JPN, CAN, POR, AUS and BRA. The Intercontinental Judges Course was the first one in the agenda, taking place at the beginning of February in Sofia (BUL), followed by seven International Judges courses. Horst Kunze presented a detailed report about this process during the EC Meeting held in May in Baku (AZE). 334 judges participated at the exams for Trampoline, whereas 156 took part in the Tumbling tests and 214 in DMT courses. A re-take course was offered to those willing to achieve a better result, taking place in Lausanne (SUI) in August. This course was attended by 27 judges, with 23 of them taking exams in Trampoline, 6 in Tumbling, and 12 in DMT, with the following outcome: TRAMPOLINE TUMBLING DOUBLE MINI Cat. 1 Cat. 2 Cat. 3 Cat. 4 FAIL Cat. 1 Cat. 2 Cat. 3 Cat. 4 FAIL Cat. 1 Cat. 2 Cat. 3 Cat. 4 FAIL The current situation of FIG judges in our Sport by October 2017 is as follows: Table. Comparison between 13 th and 14 th Olympic cycles Cat. 1* Cat. 2 Cat. 3 Cat. 4 TOTAL TRA TRA Change TUM TUM Change DMT DMT Change * = Including current and former TC members The re-take course in Lausanne meant the end of international level A and B courses, opening the door to C level courses run by National Federations in collaboration with FIG. Two level C courses are already approved by FIG for 2017: October Lilleshall (GBR) 1-3 December Hong Kong (HKG)
