3 World Oceans Oceans cover a major part of the Earth! Massive oceans are found amidst the continents. Below are the list of ocean names. Identify and write the name of each ocean in the correct position. Pacific Ocean Atlantic Ocean Indian Ocean Arctic Ocean Southern Ocean The acronym 'PAIAS' will help you recall all the ocean names: Pacific ocean, Atlantic ocean, Indian ocean, Arctic ocean, and Southern ocean. The acronyms are in the order of the largest to smallest oceans.

4 Ocean Zones There are five distinct zones in the ocean. Each zone is home to different ocean creatures. The deeper we go, the darker and colder it becomes. This happens because the sunlight doesn't reach this far. Here are the different zones and information about each zone. Cut and place the zones in order. Trench m Snail fish, Tube worm Abyss m Angler fish, Giant Squid Sunlight Zone m Jellyfish, Dolphins Twilight Zone m Crab, Shark Midnight Zone m Dumbo octopus, Eel Algae and phytoplankton take in carbon dioxide and create oxygen.they create more oxygen than any other living organism! Answers: (First zone) Sunlight zone, twilight zone, midnight zone, abyss, (deepest zone) trench.

9 Biggest To Smallest Water covers a major portion of the Earth s surface! But do you know which ocean is the biggest and covers the most? Read the information given on the chart below and identify the order of oceans from the biggest to the smallest. This is the third largest ocean in the world. 10 My Compass A compass is a tool that helps us find directions. Using a compass, we can point to North, South, East, or West. Sailors often use compasses to navigate through the oceans! Colour the compass given below and cut and paste the correct directions on the compass. East West North South North-east South-east North-west South-west The very first compass was created by the Chinese. They would use the compass to find lands to create cities in.

11 Coral Reef A coral reef is an ecosystem or habitat for marine creatures. It is home to millions of marine creatures. The coral reefs grow so slow that it takes years for a coral reef to grow big. The biggest coral reef known is the Great Barrier Reef. The coral reef below seems to be missing colour, so go ahead and get out your colouring tools and colour away! The Great Barrier Reef is so large that it can be seen from outer space!
