1 2017 C-15 NAC REGATTA HOSPITALITY GUIDE Half Moon Bay Yacht Club 214 Princeton Avenue (at Vassar Street) Princeton, CA Phone: (650) Fax: (650) Regatta Chair August 11-13, 2017 WELCOME to the Half Moon Bay Yacht Club, host of the 2017 North American Championship for the Coronado 15 Class, celebrating the 50 th Anniversary of the Coronado 15 Class! This guide will provide some additional information that we hope will be useful during your participation in the regatta. If you have questions, please the regatta chair or ask a club volunteer. All club members wear their name tags on site, so look for a member if you have a question. The bartender or Watch Officer should be able to identify the regatta officials for you. Schedule for the Regatta Thursday, August 10, 2017: 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. Registration and Boat Measurement in the Event Center and the HMBYC Boatyard 3 p.m. Optional Practice Races 7 p.m. Dinner (Optional) Friday, August 11, 2017 (Syd Corp Qualifying Race Series) 8:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast. 10:00 a.m. Mandatory Skippers Meeting on the deck at HMBYC. 11:00 a.m. First racing sequence begins. Six races are scheduled. No races will be started after 3 p.m. A lunch break will be provided. Junior North American Championship Race Series to be held right after Syd Corp Series An informal Skippers Meeting will be held immediately prior to start of racing. 1

2 4:00 p.m. First racing sequence begins. Three races are scheduled. No races will be started after 6 p.m. 7:00 p.m. Syd Corp Qualifying Race Series Awards Dinner and Assignment of Competitors to Championship or Cabrillo Fleets. Saturday, August 12, 2017 (Coronado 15 North American Championship and Cabrillo Class Series) 8:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast. 9:00 a.m. Coronado Association Annual Meeting. 10:00 Mandatory Skippers Meeting on the deck at HMBYC. 11:00 First racing sequence begins. Six races are scheduled. No races will be started after 5 p.m. A lunch break will be provided. 6:30 p.m. Dinner (Optional) Sunday, August 13, 2017 (Coronado 15 North American Championship and Cabrillo Class Series) 8:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast. 10:00 First racing sequence begins. Three races are scheduled. No races will be started after 2 p.m. 2:30 p.m. Post Regatta Barbeque. (Optional) 3:00 p.m. Awards Ceremony. Meals Meals provided by HMBYC For regatta competitors, the following meals are provided as part of your registration: o Friday breakfast o Friday lunch o Friday dinner (Syd Corp Awards) o Saturday breakfast o Saturday lunch o Sunday breakfast In addition, you may separately pay for the following optional meals provided at the Club (See the NOR for details): o Thursday dinner (after registration, weigh-in and practice races) $10 per person o Saturday dinner $12 per person o Sunday afternoon barbecue (Awards ceremony) $14 per person We urge you to register and pay in advance for the optional meals if you plan to eat with us. 2

4 Housing Options There are a limited number of HMBYC Members willing to host competitors in their homes during the regatta on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are interested in staying with a member, please contact Lucy Gillies at lucy.gillies@gmail.com We have reserved a block of rooms in two hotels at substantial discounts. Both are at the harbor and a pleasant walk to HMBYC. It will be necessary to book these rooms well in advance before they are released for general bookings 1) Modest but comfortable: Harbor View Inn - 14 rooms $ /night (discounted-must mention HMBYC regatta) 51 Avenue Alhambra El Granada, CA ) More luxurious rooms looking down on the marina and the harbor: Oceano Hotel & Spa - 10 rooms $ /night (discounted-must mention HMBYC regatta) 280 Capistrano Road Princeton By the Sea, CA There are a few mobile home parks and campsites that accept campers and mobile homes near the Club. There are a wide variety of motels near the HMBYC on the Coastside. We recommend that you make reservations as early as possible.
