6 What Happens to Shallow Draft Inlets???? Shallow Draft Inlets Compete Nationally with the Deep Draft Inlets for Federal Funding. Shallow Draft Inlets have little Commercial Tonnage Primarily used for Intra State Travel Primarily Recreational use Limited Commercial Fishing Huge boost to the State s economy

7 What Happens to Shallow Draft Although Shallow Draft Inlets Serve a Very Important Role Shallow Draft Inlets have been ZEROED out of the President s Budget in 2012 and 2013 All Maintenance Dredging Funding is going to Deep Draft Projects No Earmarks Inlets???? How Do These Important Waterways Receive Funding?

Past Years the IWW received Earmarks ranging from $1M-$3M With this funding stream plus Contributed Funds we could dredge 2 reaches per year IWW is fortunate to have a sponsor such as FIND Taxing authority
