3 LUMERIA 1. WHAT ARE THE CHECK-IN/ CHECKOUT TIMES? Check in is Monday through Sunday at 3:00 p.m. and checkout is at 11:00 a.m. 3

4 FAQ 2. WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO LUMERIA MAUI? Don t forget to pack: camera/batteries/charger, sneakers/hiking shoes, a long sleeve shirt, pants, and a light sweater for evenings, as the weather is cooler at night, hat, flip flops, shorts, t-shirt, bathing suit, sun block, insect repellent, and water bottle. 4

6 FAQ 3. DO YOU PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT? We do not provide transportation to and from the airport. Taxis TAXairport to Lumeria are approximately $ DO I NEED TO RENT A CAR? We highly recommend renting a car if you want to explore more of all that Maui has to offer. Taxi s charge a $25.00 surcharge in addition to meter fees to do pickups at Lumeria. We suggest Dollar (866) or Hertz (808) at the Kahului airport. 5. HOW FAR IS IT FROM LUMERIA TO THE BEACH? The Baldwin Beach is the closest and is about 2 miles away. 6

7 LUMERIA 6. DO YOU PROVIDE BEACH TOWELS? Yes, we provide beach and pool towels. 7. ARE THER ANY WALKS OR HIKES NEARBY? Yes, there are many beautiful walks and hikes from 10 minutes to 45 minutes driving distance from the Lumeria property. 8. IS THERE WIFI? Wireless internet is available at no cost and can be accessed via personal laptops and mobile devices. 9. IS THERE A COMPUTER FOR GUESTS TO USE AT LUMERIA MAUI? Lumeria Maui does not have a public computer for guest use. 10. IS THER A COPY MACHINE AT LUMERIA MAUI? The copy machine is for limited use and faculty only. Lumeria Maui will charge $0.40 a copy. If you have large copy jobs, please prepare these in advance and we can facilitate sending them to a local printer. 11. CAN I BRING CANDLES OR INCENSE? For safety reasons, we do not allow candle or incense burning in the guest rooms. We do allow the burning of candles and incense for ritual or teaching purposes in the classrooms as long as it is attended to at all times. 7

9 LUMERIA 12. ARE THERE SAFETY BOXES FOR PERSONAL BELONGINGS? We do have safe deposit boxes in the rooms. Lumeria Maui is not responsible for any stolen personal belongings on the premises. 13. WHAT HAPPENS WITH LOST OR UNRETURNED KEYS? Lumeria Maui charges $50 for lost or unreturned room keys. 14. DO YOU OFFER LAUNDRY SERVICES? Lumeria Maui can offer laundry services. We need a 2 week advance notice from retreat leaders. 15. CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN TO LUMERIA MAUI? Yes, we allow children to stay on the property. 16. DO YOU ALLOW PETS? We only allow service dogs on the property. 17. HOW MUCH SHOULD I TIP? The standard tip is 15% to 20%. However, it is up to you and your satisfaction of our guest services. 18. WHAT ARE THE MEDICAL SERVICES LIKE ON MAUI AND IS THERE A HOSPITAL NEARBY? From a general health perspective, Maui has high health standards. A hospital is located within 25 minutes drive from Lumeria Maui. 9

10 19. WHAT TIME ZONE IS MAUI IN?. Maui is on HST. Three hours behind PST and six hours behind EST. 20. WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN MAUI? Hawaii is sunny and enjoyable all year round. For month to month details on the weather, you can visit tripplanningweather/ 21. WHAT ARE THE BEST OPTIONS TO GET TO MAUI? There are a wide range of options for flights to Maui, including direct flights from many west coast cities, and connecting flights via Los Angeles or Honolulu. Costs per ticket from San Francisco typically run $350 to $650, FAQ 10 8 depending on specials and availability. Flights from LA are about $50 less, and from other western cities, $50 more. When flying to Maui select the Kahalui airport (airport code OGG). You can also fly into Honolulu, then take a short flight to Maui. Traveling with kids can be challenging, so getting a daytime, direct flight is quite desirable. A few places to look up airfare quotes include kayak.com, yahoo travel, Hawaiian Airlines, Alaskan Airlines and American Airlines.

11 LUMERIA 22. IS ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION AND SMOKING PERMITTED AT LUMERIA MAUI? You are welcome to bring you own alcohol. Lumeria does offer limited alcoholic beverages for a cost depending on the dinner schedule. As for smoking, we consider ourselves a smoke-free facility. 24. WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT AT LUMERIA MAUI? For accommodations or any extra spending while at Lumeria Maui (i.e. activities organized through our reception desk, like surf lessons, horseback riding, wellness treatments, juices, etc.) We accept all major credit cards or cash. 23. ORIENTATION SESSIONS FOR LARGE RETREAT GROUPS? For large retreat groups, we offer a 10 minute orientation session once the full group is settled in. 11
