11 Mini Private Swim Lesson (for 2 years old +) 1:1 Ratio, 15 minute class Pre-requisite: Minimum 2 years of age. Prior participation in Zodiac Tot is highly recommended, if the child is between the ages of 2 and 3 years old. If the child is not toilet trained, the child must wear a reusable water diaper. These are available for purchase at the pool. Our Mini Private Lesson is a 15-minute, one-to-one (private) lesson that can be used one of two ways: 1) The first way is a wonderful transitional class from Parent and Tot to group lessons without a caregiver. Toddlers who have been introduced to the aquatic environment through Zodiac Tot's program and who are ready to be independent of his/her caregiver, are able to continue developing skills, building trust with his/her instructor in preparation for group lessons. Swimmers will work on Zodiac Preschool 1 (and higher) standards in the class and receive a Zodiac Progress card at the end of the session. 2) The second way the Mini Private can be used is as a way to extend the student s regular weekly lesson by 15 minutes either before or after the lesson. The 15-minutes allows the student to focus on one skill or stroke to assist overcoming a challenge. If the schedule allows, you could book the mini private from the beginning as before or after extension. An alternative is to book the 15-minute mini private randomly without a set number to again focus on a specific skill, stroke or challenge. If is it mid-session, and you would like to add a few Mini-Private Lessons please call/ the Zodiac office to check availability. SPRING

24 Zodiac Adult Swim Program Descriptions The Zodiac Adult Swim Program is a four-level progressive program that allows adults and youth to begin where they feel the most comfortable and gain the confidence and skills needed to become a proficient swimmer in a caring and supportive environment. Swimming provides both youth and adults with a means for physical activity and recreation throughout life. "People wish to learn to swim and at the same keep one foot on the ground." Marcel Proust Zodiac Adult Comfort 6:1 Ratio, 45 minute class This program is designed for those adults who have no previous swimming experience and may be feeling nervous about beginning this adventure. This program combines the physical principles of swimming with Ai Chi, an aquatic exercise program that focuses on relaxation techniques in the water. Participants move at their own pace and all skills at this level will be performed with assistance. This class is taught in shallow water for the duration of the session. Zodiac Adult Basics 6:1 Ratio, 45 minute class This program is designed for swimmers who are completely comfortable in shallow water and although may not have attempted any swim techniques, they are ready to put their face in and start swimming! Participants must be able to perform relaxed front and back skills with assistance. Swimmers in this level are ready to begin swimming independently and develop comfort in deep water. Swimmers will learn to perform basic front and back crawl skills and intermediate breathing techniques. Swimmers are introduced to treading water and deep water skills when they are ready. SPRING
25 Zodiac Adult Strokes 6:1 Ratio, 45 minute class This program is designed for swimmers who are comfortable in deep water, can swim front and back crawl for a minimum of 15m each and are able to perform a 25m endurance swim. Swimmers will set their own distance goals for each stroke and progressively improve their endurance swim distance. Zodiac Adult Proficiency 6:1 Ratio, 45 minute class This program is designed to further develop strokes chosen by the swimmer in consultation with the instructor. Participants must be competent swimmers that can swim a minimum of 100m without stopping and who are interested in improving their stroke techniques or swim fitness through training or are training for advanced lifesaving courses, i.e. Bronze Medallion.
