1 2018 MAC BB and Above Invitational Hosted by: Mansfield Aquatic Club November 3-4, 2018 Sanction # NT Location: Facility: Mansfield ISD Debbie Weems Natatorium 1001 N. Holland Road Mansfield, TX lane, 25 yard competition pool with 4 lane, 25 yard warm-up pool. Daktronics timing system and scoreboard will be in use. Hy-Tek Meet Manager will be in use. Only coaches, athletes and officials will be allowed on the pool deck, and no folding chairs will be allowed in the spectator seating area. Pool Measurement: The competition course has not been certified in accordance with C(4). The copy ofsuch certification is not on file with USA Swimming. Course measurements will be verified each session in accordance with North Texas Swimming Rules. The minimum water depth, measured in accordance with Article , is 7 feet, 0 inches at the start end and the turn end is 7 feet, 0 inches measured for a distance of 1.0 meter to 5.0 meters from both end walls. Schedule: Warm-Up Meet Start Session 1 Saturday AM, 8:00am (12 and Under) 9:00am Session 2 Saturday PM, 11:00am (13 and Over) 12:00pm Session 3 Sunday AM, 8:00am (12 & Under) 9:00am Session 4 Sunday PM, 11:00am (13 & over) 12:00pm USA Swimming Registration: All swimmers, coaches, and officials participating in this competition must be currently (2018) registered with USA Swimming. No swimmer will be permitted to compete unless the swimmer is a member as provided in Article 302. All should also be prepared to present their USA Swimming ID Card or Deck Pass as proof of their registration to the Meet Director or designee at any time. NO DECK Registrations will be accepted. Eligibility: BB time standards for 14 and Unders. If 14 & Unders are entered in at least one event or more with a BB time or better than they can enter up 2 bonus events. There are no Time Standards for 15 & Overs. Swimmer s age as of November 3, 2018 shall determine their age for the entire meet. 15 and over swimmers will use the national age group time standard. Only swimmers registered with North Texas Swimming may enter the meet. NO DECK Registrations will be accepted. Entry Limit: Swimmers may participate in a maximum of four (4) individual events and one (1) relay per day. Meet will be limited to the team which reaches 450 athletes. Unattached/Unaccompanied Athletes: Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the

2 responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Swimmers with Disabilities: Coaches and/or swimmers are responsible for notifying the Meet Referee of any disability prior to the competition and for providing their own assistant or equipment. However, coaches/swimmers may contact the meet director at least two weeks in advance of the meet to reserve proper equipment. Seeding: Warm-up: Rules: All events will be seeded fastest to slowest. Seed times entered should be the swimmer s best time for the stroke and distance. Age groups will be seeded and swum together, but scored separately. General warm-up will last for the first 30 minutes of each warm-up session, with NO DIVING. Circle swimming only. The last 15 minutes will allow diving, as noted below. Lanes 1 & 10 PUSH PACESwim from the starting end NO DIVING Lanes 2 through 9 RACING STARTS, one way only from the blocks **The meet director in conjunction with the meet referee may adjust the warm up assignments if the entries for the meet make either warm up session disproportionately large. They shall attempt to even the number of swimmers in each session. All teams involved will be notified not less than 72 hours prior to the beginning of the first warm up session of the meet of any changes. The meet referee may, at his/her discretion, open additional lanes for racing starts, should the situation dictate. The current USA Swimming, Inc. rules will apply. North Texas Swimming safety guidelines and warm-up procedures will be in effect at this meet. To meet safety regulations, the pool deck is limited to swimmers, coaches, officials, timers, and meets personnel only. Parents and other spectators must remain in the bleachers above the pool. No chairs are allowed in the bleacher area except for stadium seats. No standing along the railing will be allowed. No food or drink (except water) is allowed on the deck. In accordance with USA Swimming rule E the use of audio or visual recording devices including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms. Deck Changes are prohibited. Parents and other spectators must remain in the bleachers above the pool. No chairs are allowed in the bleacher area except for stadium seats Drone Restrictions: Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present. Sanction: Liability: This meet has been sanctioned by North Texas Swimming and current USA Swimming rules and any relevant sections of the North Texas Policies & Procedures Manual will apply. All swimmers must be registered as athletes for 2018 with USA Swimming by the meet start date. North Texas Swimming does not allow on-deck USA Swimming registrations. Conduct of the sanctioned event shall conform in every respect to all technical and administrative rules of USA Swimming. IN GRANTING THIS SANCTION AND BY ANY PERSON S PARTICIPATION IN THE MEET IT IS UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED THAT USA SWIMMING, INC., NORTH TEXAS SWIMMING, INC., ALL MEET OFFICIALS, MAC and Mansfield

3 ISD SHALL BE FREE FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITIES OR ANY CLAIMS FOR ANY DAMAGES, EVEN IF SUCH LIABILITIES OR CLAIMS ARE DUE TO THE NEGLIGENCE OF SUCH ORGANIZATIONS, ARISING BY REASON OF INJURIES TO ANYONE DURING THE CONDUCT OF THE MEET. DAMAGE TO A FACILITY, WHEN PROVED, WILL CAUSE THE OFFENDING SWIMMER, IF UNATTACHED, OR THE OFFENDING SWIMMER S. IF ATTACHED, TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR REPAIRS. Entry Fees: Entry fees are $4.50 per individual event, and $7.50 per relay. There is also a $3.00 surcharge for each athlete entering the meet. Late entries: Late entries will only be accepted for swimmers entered in the meet and up until 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of each session at $13.50 per individual event where there are open lanes. No new heats will be added. Relay entries must be submitted by the entry deadline. No late entries for Relays. The swimmer s USA Swimming ID card and proof of time from the USA Swimming site (SWIMS) or Deck pass must accompany all late entries. The meet host will NOT look up times. All events will be swum fastest to slowest. The 500 free and 400 IM will be swum alternating women than men, and swimmers must provide his or her own timer and counter. Relay entries must be submitted by the entry deadline. Check-In: This is a pre-seeded meet. Check in is not required. Heat Sheets: Heat sheets will be available for purchase for $5.00. Concessions: Concessions will be available for swimmers and spectators. Hospitality: Results: Officials: Available for coaches and officials only. Final results will be posted to the North Texas Swimming website within ten (10) days of the conclusion of the meet. This meeting will review and clarify any rules necessary as well as answer questions. The uniform for all sessions will be white polo shirt over navy shorts/pants/skirts, as appropriate.
