1 Team web page We are in the process of building a team web page through eteamz. The site itself is sponsored by the LSA (which we belong to). Notification will be sent out by , to let you know when all information has been updated and the site is usable. Registration Procedure All residents (family pool membership required), up to age 18 as of June 1, 2011, are eligible to be on the Brownsboro Farm Swim Team. There is no minimum age level however we suggest that the child be able to swim the length of the pool without assistance. If you have any questions regarding your child s readiness please contact Greg Glish or Taylor Deibel. Louisville Swim Association eligibility rules include non-neighborhood swimmers. That means your relatives and friends may join our team. However, the City does require outside swim team members to pay an additional charge. This price has been included in the membership fee as noted below. Registration packets will be available through BFST@insightbb.com Please feel free to forward to those interested. 2 Concession Stand We will host 3 home meets this season. We will open a concession stand to sell refreshments and various items. Rather than donating soft drinks or ice, we are asking each swim family to pay $15.00 to cover the expenses. This expense has already been added to the swim registration fee. Meets We have 6 meets, qualifications and championships. Swimmers are to be at the meets by 5:00pm. Parents are to sign in with the meet coordinator no later than 5:30pm. The meets begins at 6:00pm. For home meets set up begins at the 4:00PM. Any and all help is appreciated, as is clean up at the end of a meet. Swimmers are to be at the meets by 5:00pm. 3 Practices PM practice priority are for swimmers who are working / parents who are working and can t get their swimmers to the pool /swimmers who are attending day camps. Practices are cancelled in the event of lightning and heavy rain. The Speedo suit for the girls is available in both thin and thick strap and more sizes, so you have your choice. For the boys they can choose jammers or bikini. Team suits are not required to compete. The swim team caps with the logo are available to purchase from the team. Please see Mrs. Clippinger for your cap. (502) She has both Latex and Silicone caps available for you to purchase Please see Mrs. Karman for T-shirt / sweats orders. (502) PARENT PARTICIPATION Each swim meet is divided into 2 halves. Parents are scheduled to work both halves, as their children are swimming in both halves. The exception to this is for 6 and under age group unless they are asked to swim up with the 8 and under age group. Parents will be assigned a job at every meet. Most jobs are very simple and can be explained in only a few minutes. Also, when you arrive at the meet it will be your job to check in with the meet coordinator. In addition, if you cannot work your scheduled meet, we ask that you please look at the schedule and find a replacement for yourself. It is then your responsibility to notify the meet coordinator of the change. The success of our meets running smoothly depends upon our parent participation. Please be aware that you are expected to fulfill your obligation. There will be a $10.00 penalty for each half of a swim meet if you are scheduled to work and do not show up or do not arrange a replacement. The penalty must be paid before you child can swim in the next meet. Banquet information: Banquet date is already set for Saturday July 16 th at the pool from 4:00 8:00. Same format as last year ~ pool party, buffet of some form, awards There will be a fee for parents and guests TBD at a later date. 3

5 Medical Information and Release As the parent (or guardian) of the above named minor child/children, I give my permission for my child/children to participate as a member of the Brownsboro Farm Swim Team. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Brownsboro Farm Swim Team; the Swim Team Board; the Brownsboro Farm Parks Board; any sponsor of the Brownsboro Farm Swim Team; and / or the employees, agents, and representatives of the forgoing of all claims of injury, death or damages resulting from my child s/children s participation in Swim Team activities.
