The HRIS Recorder and Convener will submit times for those eligible for selection and will notify any student selected for the event. 4

5 NB Please ensure all students understand false start procedures. There is only one start. If a competitor breaks the start they are disqualified. (As per NSW Swimming Association regulations) Disqualified swimmers may continue in race but they will be ineligible for selection. Pool Seating Allocation: Markers will be displayed indicating the area for each school. Please ensure that students stay in these areas throughout the day and that your area is left clean before you leave. Starting Instructions: Please note details, especially false start rules, as stated above. Ensure that all students are aware of these. Timing: Touch Pads will be used. One Timekeeper is required for each lane as back up. Swimming Caps: School swimming caps are to be worn by all competitors. Those not wearing a cap will be at risk of disqualification. Students must wear racing swimwear for all events. All Relays: In the relay events, participants who are the 2 nd and 4 th swimmer (i.e. those who start at the end closest to the pool entry) will begin in the water. Competitors can be touching the wall with one hand or have a foot on the wall before leaving. HRIS Carnivals 8 Year Olds Students selected in school teams for HRIS Carnivals must be turning 8 years of age in that year. 7 year old students in Year 2 are not eligible for HRIS selection. 13 Year Old Competitors: These students are eligible to compete at the NSWCIS Swimming Championships in Primary Events. Disputes Committee will be comprised of the Carnival Convenor, Carnival Referee, and the Chairman of HRIS Primary Sports. Any protest needs to be submitted in writing to the Disputes Committee by the Official School Team Manager, within 20 minutes of the conclusion of the event or race. Please ensure all parents and students are aware that ribbons will be posted out following the carnival and not given out during the day. 5
