2 ng Designed Spring Swim Lessons Walworth Recreation is your go to when registering for swim lessons at the Gananda Pool! For those who have previously registered for programs with us simply log into your Rec1 online account and register for lessons as you would any other program. For those new to the process please refer to the registration information at left to set up your Rec1 account with Walworth Recreation and register for lessons today! AQUATICS AT THE GANANDA POOL // SWIMMING LESSONS Program Levels PRESCHOOL (TOT DECK) for children 3 to 5 years of age but will depend on the child s water experience. Participants will be in water 18 deep and taken out on the tot deck by the instructor and instructor aides. LEVEL #1: WATER EXPLORATION Designed for the beginning swimmer to feel comfortable in and enjoy water safely. Fundamental water safety and skills focusing on fun is emphasized. This group will work on putting their faces in the water, floating on front or back, or holding their breath under water and beginning movement in water. LEVEL #2: PRIMARY SKILLS Designed for swimmers that are comfortable in the water but still need support from an instructor. Participants will learn basic swimming skills, back and front floats, coordination of arm and leg motion, rhythmic breathing, and self-help and basic rescue skills. Additional Registration Options Register In Person or By Mail Visit us at the Walworth Town Hall (3600 Lorraine Drive, Walworth, NY). Our offices are located downstairs across from the Town Courtroom. We also have a program registration drop box located on the Upper Level of the building. Gananda Racing Aquatic Team Contact: Mark Sixbey msixbey2@rochester.rr.com LEVEL #3: STROKE READINESS Designed for swimmers to develop more swimming techniques. Aims to coordinate the front crawl and back crawl, treading water, beginner diver, and underwater swimming. Also develops their confidence in their swimming skills. LEVEL #4: STROKE DEVELOPMENT Designed for swimmers who enjoy being in the deep end while working on swimming skills. This group focuses on perfecting previous strokes, learning the side stroke, breaststroke, butterfly stroke, and advancement in diving skills. Safety and rescue skills continue. LEVEL #5: STROKE REFINEMENT Designed for swimmers to build refinement and endurance in swimming strokes. Strokes are refined to allow fluidity of water movement and for swimming longer distances. Expands on stroke mechanics and introduces flip turns, strokes, surface dives, springboard diving, and continues safety skills. LEVEL #6: SWIMMING PROFICIENCY Designed for swimmers that are looking for something different. There are four areas that can be addressed during this level: Fitness Swimmer, Fundamentals of Diving, Lifeguard Readiness, and Personal Water Safety.
