4 04 1. How do I see myself using it? We have a large and comprehensive range of swim spas at many different price points to cater for the many different needs of our clients. In order to narrow down to a suitable unit, give some serious thought to all the people who will be using the swim spa, and what you're looking to get out of it. However, if you're not so concerned with lots of hot tub seats, but you are looking to use it for regular serious swimming, and you'd like a large swimchamber to use as a fun pool for the children, then you'd probably need to consider a model such as our Poseidon Mono Elite. Give one of our resident swim spa experts a call on and they'll be delighted to talk you through your options and give you some pointers. This is really important as you will be making a significant financial investment and giving over a few square metres of your patio or garden to it. For example, if you're a real party person and looking for lots of hot tub seats for entertaining many friends and family at a time, then you may need to consider a product like our popular OD35 model.

5 05 2. Will I require planning permission? In the vast majority of cases, no, you will not. A swim spa is, in effect, a portable appliance, albeit a very large and heavy one, and so does not fall within the remit of planning consent. However, if you intend installing your swim spa inside some kind of permanent building or structure then this will more often than not require planning consent and building regulations approval. Homes which are in areas of outstanding natural beauty or areas of specific scientific interest, or which have listed building status may also, in some cases though not always, require planning consent, subject to the discretion of your local planning office. So our advice in such instances would be that if you have any doubts, it's always best to put a call in to your local planning office first to double-check.

6 06 3. Where should I buy from? The short answer to this question, as I'm sure you would expect, is Summit Leisure! However, to inject some objectivity into the subject, you will be making a significant investment in your health, well-being and leisure time which will last you for many, many years to come, and it's a decision which it is vitally important you get right. Particularly in recent years a number of online companies selling cheap product of suspect quality, reliability and safety have sprung up offering products at prices that seem too good to be true, and after they've taken delivery consumers often find to their cost that they were indeed that. We would always suggest that you look for a company who are well-established, with high levels of knowledge and experience of the market selling good quality products with excellent levels of pre and post sales support and back-up. Lastly, do the vendors you are considering buying from have proper premises which you can visit to meet with them personally and evaluate them, as well as have product on the ground that you can look at yourself and inspect first-hand? If they don't, we would strongly suggest giving them a wide berth, as you would wish to avoid handing any payment over to a company which transpire to be fly-by-nights, and who won't be around to look after you and your swim spa for as long as you own it. Here at Summit Leisure, whilst we do sell and install swim spas nationally and have sold to consumers in the past who have seen their product for the first time on the day we turned up to install it, we do have premises with product on the ground which you are very welcome to visit to see the product in the flesh for yourself, and for us to answer any questions you may have.

7 07 4. Can I install a swim spa indoors, or does it have to be installed outdoors? Yes, you can install a swim spa indoors as well as outdoors. An indoor installation will require more thought and planning beforehand. If it is to be housed in a permanent building or extension to your home, then it will require planning permission and be subject to building regulations. In the case of installation in an existing building, some thought on how it's going to be moved into the building will need to be given. You may, for example, need to remove a wall temporarily. The floor it will be standing on will need to be suitably strong, as a filled swim spa can weigh up to 15 tons. You will also need to think of drainage for any overspill, and dehumidification and heat reclamation equipment to ensure the humidity is kept comfortable for the bathers and does not damage the fabric of the building. We're very happy to give you as much advice and information as you need in this respect. 8 08 5. Will I need a site visit? Yes, we strongly recommend you have a site visit, which is free and puts you under no obligation to buy a swim spa or deal with us any further. By having a site visit, one of our highly experienced swim spa experts will be able to sit down with you and discuss all your wants and needs and explain the choices you have in order to help you narrow the choice down to the swim spa which meets your exact needs and requirements. Furthermore, while they're with you, they'll be able to look at the site, inspect the access from the road to where you'd like the swim spa installed, and take detailed measurements and photographs, all of which will be required to provide you with a comprehensive, exact, and detailed quotation for the supply and installation of your swim spa. Due to a swim spa's very large size and weight, very often it necessitates the use of a crane to get it into the rear of your property, so we'll be able to establish that and advise you on your options. 9 09 6. Can I try before I buy? Yes, is the simple answer. You'll be able to feel first-hand the power and adjustability of our swimjets and get a feel for what it's like swimming against them, as well as inspect the quality of the products in the flesh and ask us any questions you wish.
