4 Public pool Any pool, other than a semi-public or private residential pool operated by a person, whether that person is an owner, agent, lessee, site operator, licensee or concessionaire and intended to be used collectively by a number of persons for swimming diving and /or recreational bathing regardless of whether a fee is charged for such use. Pools used for accredited aquatic events are included. Ex. City facilities, CFB Natatorium, Sandy Lake Amusement Park

5 Semi-public pool Any pool intended to be used primarily by the occupants and their invited guests of any type of permanent residence facility. E.g. Homeowners association, apartment house, condominium residential club, country club, and housing complex or of a temporary residence facility e.g. hotel, motel or camp A pool of a school, college, university, hospital, health club or other similar institution is deemed to a be semipublic pool, provided that the pool is used primarily by persons directly associated with that institution and provided it is not used for any accredited aquatic event

6 Private Residential Pool Any pool located on private property under the control of the owner or lessee, the use of which is limited to swimming by members of the owner s or lessee s family and or their invited guests.

20 Requires all pools and spas with multiple drains to be no less than 3 feet apart and no more than 20 feet between the drains Dual drains - drain covers and grates less than 24 diagonally in 4 feet or less of water must add 1 or more anti-entrapment devices or systems. Safety vacuum release system(svrs) SVRD - pump shut off device either shuts of electricity to pump or allowing air to enter the main drain AVS provides indirect suction and a break to the atmosphere and is limited to 5 feet of head. Vent must be at least 2 in diameter and if vented by pipe must have a cover that can only be removed with a tool Surge pit A vacuum outlet must be permanently sealed or have cover that closes automatically
