Sactio No. NC11117 The Greesboro Swimmig Associatio, The Greesboro Aquatic Ceter is a state-of-the-art idoor facility with three pools which opeed i August Te 25-yard, 7-foot wide laes will be used for the competitio with oturbulet lae lies ad Colorado startig blocks. It is 8 feet deep at both eds. The Colorado electroic timig system will be used. The competitio course has ot bee certified i accordace with C(4). At least three laes will be ope for cotiuous warm up ad dow. Seatig for 1500 spectators is available. Parkig will be available for $5 per day with ulimited etry ad exit. Free parkig will be provided for coaches ad officials who preset 2011 or 2012 USAS membership cards to the gate attedat. CLASSIFICATION: Ope RULES: ELIGIBILITY: The meet will be coducted i accordace with the USA Swimmig Rules ad Regulatios ad the NC Official Hadbook ad NCS Safety program, except where the rules therei are optioal ad exceptios are herei stated. All swimmers must be registered with USA Swimmig. No o deck registratio is permitted. GSA welcomes all swimmers with disabilities as described i the USA Swimmig Rules ad Regulatios, Article 105, to participate i our meets. There will be o pealty for missig a timed fial evet although the evet will cout toward the swimmer s evet limit. The NCS Safety Program is i effect for this meet. Coaches are advised to closely supervise their swimmers at all times. No ruig or horseplay will be tolerated. Ayoe failig to comply with a safety request may forfeit his or her privilege to participate. We strogly recommed each team assig a marshal to moitor warm-up sessios i additio to host team marshal. Ay swimmer etered i the meet, uaccompaied by a USA Swimmig member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimmig member coach as beig proficiet i performig a racig start or must start each race from withi the water. It is the resposibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardia to esure compliace with this requiremet. Oly swimmers, properly certified officials ad coaches, ad meet voluteers will be allowed o deck. No spectators will be allowed o deck at ay time. 1

2 OFFICIALS: COACHES MEETING: CREDENTIALS: ENTRY LIMIT: We welcome all USA Swimmig certified officials ad appretices o deck. Officials meetigs will be held 30 miutes prior to the begiig of each sessio i Hospitality. Please cotact the meet referee with ay questios. GSAOfficials@GSAswim.org. There may be a brief coaches meetig at the ed of warm ups at the referee s discretio. All coaches ad officials o deck must be registered ad certified with USA Swimmig. Meet Maagemet will require all coaches to show proof of certificatio/registratio. Coaches ad officials shall promietly display their USA Swimmig registratio cards while o deck. Swimmers should have attaied a time equal to or faster tha the BB time stadard i at least three of the evets i which they are etered for the meet. Swimmers are limited to five idividual ad oe relay evet per day. A swimmer etered i too may evets will be dropped from the first ad subsequet evets that are over the limit. The 1000 Freestyle may be further limited to 10 heats of the fastest seeded, positively checked i swimmers, equally divided betwee Wome ad Me. Swimmers who eter the 1000 Freestyle but do ot make the 10 seeded heats will be accommodated i other evets as possible. The Meet Director reserves the right to limit etries to comply with the NCS 4 hour rule. Heats may be combied at the discretio of the Referee. ENTRY FEES: $2.50 for each idividual evet $8.00 for each relay evet $3.00 for each swimmer - NC Travel Fud (icludes relay oly swimmers) $10.00 facility charge All relay oly swimmers, icludig alterates, must be etered ad pay the NCS travel fud surcharge of $3.00 ad the $10.00 Facility charge. ENTRY DEADLINE: Midight, Wedesday, November 9, ENTRY SUBMISSION: Late etries will be accepted oly at the discretio of the Meet Director. Late etries may ot be seeded. We reserve the right to limit or susped the additio of swimmers or heats to accommodate late etries. Late etries will be charged double fees. The 1000 Free will be swum fastest to slowest, alteratig wome ad me. Heats may be combied at the discretio of the Referee. Swimmers i the 400 IM ad the 500 /1000 Frees must provide their ow timers ad couters. WARM UP PROCEDURE: First 40 Miutes - Geeral warm up all laes. No divig. Lae assigmets will be aouced ad posted. Last 20 Miutes - Specific warm up. Laes 1 ad 10 pace. Laes 2 ad 9 oe-way-oly dive starts. Laes 3-8 remai ope for geeral warm ups. Warm up procedures may be modified o deck by the Referee to adjust for existig coditios. 2

North Carolia Swimmig Scratch Rule INDIVIDUAL SCRATCH RULE Swimmers shall iform themselves of the meet startig time ad shall report to the proper meet authorities promptly upo call. The meet iformatio shall specify all madatory check-i ad scratch deadlies ad procedures..1 Pre-Seeded Meets - Ay swimmer ot reportig for or competig i a idividual timed fial evet shall ot be pealized..2 Evets Seeded o the Deck - Ay swimmer etered i a idividual evet that is seeded o the deck, i whole or i part, who has checked i for that evet, must swim i the evet uless the swimmer otifies the clerk of course before the seedig for that evet has begu that the swimmer wishes to scratch. Failure to scratch prior to seedig ad ot swimmig the evet will result i the swimmer beig barred from the ext idividual evet i which the swimmer etered i the meet. Uless the meet iformatio states otherwise, evets seeded o the deck shall be closed for seedig o later tha thirty (30) miutes prior to the start of the evet except that idividual evets of 400 meters or loger may be closed for seedig up to twety four (24) hours before the expected start of the evet if the check-i/scratch deadlie occurs after the begiig of the meet ad is aouced i the meet iformatio..4 Exceptios for Failure to Compete - No pealty shall apply for failure to compete i or scratch a idividual evet if: A B C D The Referee is otified i the evet of illess or ijury ad accepts the proof thereof. The swimmers qualifyig for a A fial or B fial race based upo the results of the prelimiaries otifies the Referee withi thirty (30) miutes after aoucemet of the qualifiers of that fial race that they may ot ited to compete ad also declares his fial decisio whether or ot to scratch withi thirty (30) miutes followig his last idividual prelimiary heat, swim-off, or re-swim. The swimmer was ot amed i ay fials heat durig the iitial aoucemet of results It is determied by the Referee that failure to compete is caused by circumstaces beyod the cotrol of the swimmer RELAY SCRATCH RULE.1 All Meets - Ay relay or relay member, i a relay evet that fails to compete i or report for that evet shall ot be pealized. 5
