The confirmed details of your Club s entries into this Meet can be found on the Welsh Capital Open Meet page on our website at PLEASE CAREFULLY CHECK. Please refer to the Meet Pack for full information on the gala. We are grateful to our Event Sponsors Admiral, Cardiff Metropolitan, Capital Law, Swimpath, The Tuning Room providing 50 prize money in the open heats/finals. Spectator Information The pool hall will open for spectator entry on Saturday/Sunday from approx. 8:00 am each day. The front 4 rows are reserved for swimmers, coaches and club staff. We ask that spectators please occupy the seats from row five back. Marshalling The pool layout is shown below: Swimmers will be called to marshalling by the announcer. It is the responsibility of the swimmer and club coaches to ensure that they attend marshalling once called. Swimmers will then be accompanied by the Marshalling Team around the 4 seated zones to the start. SIGNING IN Sign in sheets will be used for 800m and 1500m events. Swimmers must sign in to confirm that they are swimming, before the start of warm up in Session 1. FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT THIS MEANS BEFORE the start of the warm up on Friday. Failure to do so will mean the swimmer is removed from the event and their entry fee is forfeited. A 15 FINE will be imposed to any signed in swimmer if they are a No Show SIGN IN SHEETS WILL ALSO BE USED FOR ALL HDW events in session 3 & session 6. Swimmers must sign in to confirm they are swimming BEFORE the START of the respective WARM UP session.

3 Warm Up & Session Times see attached warm up structure All Warm Up sessions end 5/10 minutes before the commencement of each Session. NOTE max 16 swimmers/lane as required by Parkwood. There is NO warm down pool available. All Clubs must ensure that their swimmers are supervised during warm up in their allocated lanes. All lanes will be swim lanes until sprint lanes are announced for each session. Please ensure your swimmers exit the pool at the side and do not climb out over the timing pads as this can cause damage to the pads and lead to delays to the meet. Sprint lanes will be opened by the announcer. Warm up Marshals will be used. Swimmers disregarding health + safety instructions and ignoring the direction of the Marshals will be not be tolerated and thus will be excluded from Warm Up. We request that details of officials (together with their qualifications) are forwarded to our officials co-ordinator Jim McCulloch Details of Event Parking Car parking places are limited at the Cardiff International Pool. together with a map showing of CIP are below: Directions to Cardiff International Pool Directions to Cardiff International Pool Cardiff International Pool Olympian Drive CF11 0JB Travelling from either the west or the east, take the M4 to Junction 33 Then take the A4232, towards Cardiff Bay. Take the 3 rd main exit. (just after the elevated section) A4055 to Penarth. Travel down the exit slip road, and at the roundabout then take the 3 rd exit (towards Penarth), and then take the first left at the traffic lights. At the next set of traffic lights turn right. On the day parking is available in CIP car parks. Refreshments - The Café, which provides a catering facility serving refreshments for swimmers, spectators and coaches, will operate throughout this Meet. Refreshments may not be taken onto the poolside. There are also local facilities located near Cardiff International Pool.

COACHES BRIEFING There will be a short briefing for coaches/team Managers on SATURDAY at 8:30am to run through the meet/signing in process and answer any questions arising.

Coach passes can be obtained at the entrance foyer. Heat sheets will be provided at this meeting together with coaches lunch passes for each day. Swim Shop & Promotions We welcome to the CIP Balcony SWIMPATH with Olympian Jemma Lowe. Claire Tutton will be selling 'aloe inspired' products, based on the healing and nutritional properties of the Aloe Vera plant. These include personal care products (shampoo, conditioner, shaving lotion, etc), essential oils and some make up. Cardiff Met will also have their tent set up promoting their University. Fundraising We also remember our Coach Keith Bewley (15:08.47~16:01.17), who sadly passed away suddenly. Keith Bewley dedicated his whole life to the swimming and his family want to continue his work through this new fund set up with the help of Swim Wales and under the auspices of the Swimming Trust Charity, who will administer the fund on behalf of City of Cardiff Swimming Club. From starting the very successful Wigan Wasp Program; that produced so many Olympians, to leading Swim Ireland to the Beijing Olympics in Keith s whole life was about offering opportunities to athletes so they could fulfil their individual potential. Keith coached at the City of Cardiff for the last 10 years of his life, working with swimmers of all ages and abilities. He played a key role in the development of athletes throughout the whole club from early entry level to Olympians.
