4 Dec 7-8 Winter Age Group Invites (3 sites) Dec SCS SCY Sr Development Champs (2 1/2 days, P/F, relays, scoring) Dec CA/NV Sectionals ELAC/FAST Southern California Swimming Standards for Hosting LSC Meets Purpose The purpose of these standards is to ensure that the swimmers of Southern California Swimming have the finest possible venues for key senior, seasonculminating, and qualifying meets. General Requirements Any facility and host seeking to bid for an LSC Meet must meet the following standards in order to submit a bid. Standards that will be met must be attested to in writing from the entity responsible for meeting that standard. Officials The SCS Officials Chairman is responsible for assigning officials for these meets. The host may request an official(s); the Officials Chairman may take requests under consideration. Meets Requiring Compliance SCS meets that require compliance with these standards are: Junior Olympic Meets June and Winter Age Group Championships Senior Invitational Meets and Calendared Senior Meets All-Star Meets Zone, Conference or Sectionals Zone Meets Facilities Standards Compliance with /L/ and /M/ standards as set forth in Article 103 of the USA Swimming Rules & Regulations. Whenever possible a facility hosting a senior invitational or national level meet is asked to meet /NC/ standards. Mandatory minimum standards: Eight-lane pool Minimum depth at end where starts will be conducted: 4 feet (6 feet recommended) Warm-up facility of no fewer than four 25-yard lanes,

5 Warm-up facility is within venue and available throughout the meet Availability of the venue for the required duration of the competition Pool is an USA Swimming certified pool. If a bid is awarded to a pool that is not certified, any record set in that pool may not be recognized by Southern California Swimming and USA Swimming. Adequate toilet facilities for the size of the meet All facility insurance requirements are satisfied 60 days prior to meet Full automatic timing (statement of system to be used included in bid) Second (back-up) automatic timing system harness 4 back-up timing pads and sufficient back-up buttons Health and safety requirements met A visible scoreboard in view of coaching section. An ample PA system for the immediate area and surrounding areas especially if deck space is at a minimum Host Standards Must have previously and successfully hosted a meet of comparable size Must have available food facilities that reasonably accommodate participants Must have hospitality that provides for coaches and officials Must have reasonable parking accommodations Must complete an SCS compliance document 60 days prior to the meet Must complete sanction process no later than 60 days prior to the meet Must have meet form approved and ready with sanction request* Must provide meet results and meet documents within SCS regulations Must provide upon request any agreements with co-hosts and agencies Failure to Comply If, for any reason, a facility and or a host that has been awarded a meet and is going to fail to meet these standards for any reason, the SCS Board of Directors reserves the right to re-assign the venue and/or host no matter what the time frame or circumstances. If a facility and/or host conducts a competition and fails to comply with standards for any reason, the SCS General Chair will automatically forward a Protest to the SCS Board of Review no later than 14 days after the last day of the meet. *Age Group meets will be formatted by Age Group Committee; Senior meets by Senior Committee
