Here we go.nbac begins it s 48 th season. Discovery / Imagination practices begin Monday August 31, The coaching staff is excited to get started and looking forward to another tremendous year. Matt has coached summer league for a number of years, been an NBAC Stroke Clinic Coach, Lesson instructor as well as an accomplished NCAA Division 1 swimmer at Towson University. Matt s primary focus will be working with the Discovery Groups as well as the Imagination groups when needed. The Discovery / Imagination Groups Bi-Weekly newsletter is usually ed late Sunday night every other week. Please review the newsletters looking for any practice time changes, any new meet information or general information. Any additional communication will also be by . Walking/running around other parts of the building is prohibited. Anything outside is allowed only if accompanied by an adult. *Per USA Swimming / NBAC Rules: No parents are allowed on the pool deck at any time. Swimmers Only! *Parents may observe practice from the balcony area. Please do not lean on or over the railing to observe practices. There is no video taping of practices allowed. *Swimmers bags must be placed on the benches or against the walls. Bags are not allowed in walkways. *Running is never permitted in the building or on the pool deck. *Swimmers should not enter the water unless directed to do so by the coaching staff. *At the conclusion of practice, please change as quickly as possible in order to get home as soon as possible. *Swimmers should be picked up promptly at the conclusion of each practice. *Swimmers must be escorted by an adult, at the conclusion of practice, to the parking lot. If an adult has not arrived then the swimmer must stay in the pool area until a parent escorts that swimmer to the parking lot. *Parents please be at the pool at the conclusion of practice for pickup. Coaches will wait until the last swimmer has left the building.

3 REQUIRED SUITS & ATTIRE NOTE: WE WILL AGAIN BE GOING THROUGH A TRANSITION PERIOD OVER THE NEXT YEAR AS WE MIGRATE FROM BEING SPONSORED BY AQUA SPHERE TO BEING SPONSORED BY SPEEDO. I AM NOT SURE WHEN THE SUITS WILL BE AVAILABLE, AT THE MEADOWBROOK PRO-SHOP BUT UNTIL THEN PLEASE CONTINUE TO PURCHASE THE SPEEDO SUITS LISTED BELOW FOR YOUR COMPETITION SUIT. SUITS MAY BE PURCHASED AT A NUMBER OF ON-LINE SHOPS SUCH AS THE METRO SWIM SHOP. THERE ARE NO RESTRICTIONS ON WHICH SUITS YOU WEAR FOR PRACTICES. REMEMBER MEET SUITS SHOULD BE BOUGHT TIGHT AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED FOR MEETS. SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING SIZE, PLEASE SEE ONE OF THE COACHES. 4 MEETS The coaching staff does all meet entries for ALL swimmers and meets. The coaches will select the best meets for the swimmers as well as the events each swimmer will be entered in. It is assumed that all swimmers will attend all meets in which the coaching staff selects for each swimmer. It is up to each swimmer/parent to send an to their Lead Coach as well as Tom and notify them if you are unable to attend a meet. This must be done no later than 5 weeks prior to the date of the meet. The meets are an important part of the equation to developing each swimmer to the best of their abilities. Please make every effort to attend each meet you are selected to attend. The schedule for the Short & Long Course Seasons is included in this weekly report. It is accurate right now but is subject to change if we feel it is in the best interest of the swimmers involved. If and when there are any changes, you will be notified via the Bi-weekly report. After further evaluation through the summer and various additional factors we will be making some adjustments in the first couple of weeks of the season. As always, we will continue to analyze each swimmers placement throughout the seasons and, if needed, will make adjustments as necessary. We have nothing but the swimmers best interest in mind and appreciate your cooperation with this process. We thank you for your patience and trust while we go through this process.
