MEET CONDITIONS Neptune Queens Birthday Swim Meet is conducted under the regulations of SNZ and FINA Rules except where any local Meet conditions listed on this poster and in the programme. 5 Age at Meet and Groups: Swimmers age will be determined as at 29 th May Swimmers must swim in their age group, except, a swimmer may swim up in a relay team. Competitive swimmers age groups are as follows: 10 & under, 11 & 12, 13 & 14, 15 & 16, 17 & Over Non Competitive Swimmers: Open age group only. 50 meter individual events will be seeded (slowest to fastest) and swum as timed finals separated by gender (male, female). 50 meter individual events will not be scored. A relay team can be a mixture of both non-competitive and competitive swimmers. Competitive Entry Times: 50 meter individual events will be seeded (slowest to fastest) and swum as timed finals in separate age groups (10 & under, 11 & 12, 13 & 14, 15 & 16, 17 & Over) and gender (male, female). 100 meter individual events will be swum as prelims (slowest to fastest) and finals. The prelims will be seeded and swum together in separate gender groupings (male, female). The finals will be swum in separate age groups (10 & under, 11 & 12, 13 & 14, 15 & 16, 17 & Over) and gender (male, female). All other individual events will be swum as timed finals and will be seeded (slowest to fastest) and swum together in separate gender groupings (male, female). The events will be scored in separate age groups (10 & under, 11 & 12, 13 & 14, 15 & 16, 17 & Over) and gender (male, female). Qualifying Times: Withdrawals: 400 meter Freestyle 5 minutes 30 seconds 400 meter Individual Medley 6 minutes NO REFUNDS FOR WITHDRAWALS. Please note: All withdrawals for Session 1 are to be received by Neptune Swim Club by 6pm, Thursday 28 th May Withdrawals for Sessions 2 5, must be into the recorder s office within 30 minutes of the end of the preceding session. Withdrawals from Finals: Athletes with a Disability: Withdrawals from Finals (Sessions 2, 4 & 5) must be made no more than 30 minutes following the posting of the results for the relevant event. Subject to the following provision, failure to swim a Final without scratching within the required time may result in a fine of up to $50.00 being imposed (at the discretion of the Meet Director) Athletes who hold an IPC Classification are eligible to participate in this programme and will be seeded amongst able-bodied athletes on the basis of entry times. It is the responsibility of the athlete (or their Team Manager) to inform the Referee in advance of their swim and of their IPC Classification with their card showing their IPC Class and exception codes. Officials at this meet will exercise their best endeavours to adjudicate IPC athletes in accordance with their understanding of the relevant IPC Rules.

6 Starts: Points: Relay s: Over the top starts will be used for all races. One Start Rule applies. Competitive swimmers individual events will be scored. The first 8 swimmers will be scored from the finals: 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Swimmers are allowed to swim up age groups but must remain in that age group for all relays. Swimmers may only swim in one freestyle relay and one medley relay. Teams can be a mixture of both competitive and non-competitive swimmers. For 12 & under mixed relays the teams may comprise 1 boy and 3 girls, 2 boys and 2 girls or 3 boys and 1 girl (events 35 & 66). For years and 15 & over mixed relays the teams must comprise 2 boys and 2 girls (events 36, 37, 67 & 68). Adam & Eve Relay: Swimmers not wishing to compete in the Adam & Eve relays must let the recorder s office know prior to the end of session 4. The teams in the Adam & Eve relays (10 & Under, 11 & 12, 13 & 14, 15 & 16, 17 & Over) will comprise the top 8 female and 8 male swimmers of each age group from the 50m freestyle events (events 40 to 49): Lane 1 Lane 2 Lane 3 Lane 4 Lane 5 Lane 6 Lane 7 Lane 8 4 th male 6 th male 2 nd male 8 th male 1 st male 7 th male 3 rd male 5 th male 5 th female 3 rd female 7 th female 1 st female 8 th female 2 nd female 6 th female 4 th female Marshalling: Swimmers are to report to the marshall in the stand at the shallow end of the main pool, six heats prior to their race. Swimmers who are unable to Marshall due to swimming previous events are responsible for informing the Marshall before they are due in marshalling. Failure to report to marshalling (timed finals and finals) may result in fines being applied. Once a swimmer has been removed from a final and replaced with an alternate by the Marshall, they will not be reinstated even if they subsequently present themselves. Poolside Officials: Neptune Swim Club will endeavour to obtain the necessary number of officials but the number on poolside may be more or less than the requirement set out in SNZ rules. Clubs are to supply: Officials and workers as requested. Guide is 1 worker/official per 4 swimmers per session. Protests: Protests must be lodged in accordance with SNZ Regulation 4, with a charge of $ All participants must agree to comply with the Sports Anti-Doping Rules
