The GSV carnival team will be selected based on House Swimming results, training meet results and time trials. All students are welcome to attend. GSV DIVING TEAM The Lauriston Dive squad trains Friday morning from 6.30am. Students will be selected to compete based on their House Diving results, attendance to training and training meet results. 4 Rules and Regulations All students are to remain in their allocated House areas. This includes House Captains, who are not to organise girls in the marshalling room. The marshalling room is for competitors only. Please check with House Captains before going to events, and check with a supervising teacher before going to the toilets. Students may not access the canteen or vending machines. No student is to leave the venue at any time during an event. Cheering and supporting your House are a must, but you may not use items such as sticky tape, crepe paper etc due to the venue regulations. Note, no cheering at the start of events to ensure all competitors hear the start. Competitors should marshal no earlier than four events prior to their race. Competitors may swim four individual events and one relay. 4 LAURISTON GIRLS SCHOOL HOUSE SWIMMING AND DIVING 2016

5 The one start rule will not be applied; however a warning will be issued. If there is a second break the swimmer at fault will be disqualified. All swimmers must touch the timing device firmly with two hands to ensure time is recorded. Please swim under the swim lane ropes and exit via the stairs to the pool concourse. Girls must exit the pool at the nearest ladder and only after being told to do so. Please do not climb out over the timing device. Medley relays are backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle. 1st, 2nd & 3rd place ribbons are to be collected from the presentation area. Navy school-issued bathers must be worn. Girls may wear navy bike pants over their bathers if they wish. Racing suits may be worn upon request to the Director of Sport. Only in exceptional circumstances may a swimmer swim up one division.
