1 Lesson 1 of 10 Aims of Session: Skills Equipment Required: Woggles, Armbands/Discs, Tool Box Swivel or Teacher controlled jump Spaced out and staggered 2 min Swim front paddle (until I tell you to stop) Lie flat, stretch forwards Long legs, floppy feet Re-cap gliding skills on back Re-cap regain to standing skills Glide on back Glide and back paddle, maintain body position Ears in water, head on a pillow Arms by side Press arms down, lean forwards Streamlined as you can Who can glide the furthest Hands under the water Flat position Floating prone and supine Alphabet soup refer to Tool Box Make the following letters A,T, X, O With a partner W, Y, S, L Safely introduce climbing out Allow pupils choice of climbing out or steps or as Check all pupils parents have arrived then paper work

3 Lesson 3 of 10 Aims of Session: Skills Equipment Required: Woggles, Armbands/Discs, Tool Box, Safe entry, choice made by pupil (teacher controlled) Groups i.e. swivel, steps, jump 2 mins Front paddle and back paddle Swim until I tell you to stop Body flat, long legs Back crawl legs and arms Attempt stroke observe demo by competent swimmer Glide - supine Flat body Glide and kick As above, long legs Glide, kick, front paddle Point toes Glide, kick, back crawl arm action As above Feedback from teacher throughout Re-cap regain standing skills Push arms down and lean forwards Time allowing team race 2 Teams Game Sleeping lions refer to Tool Box Lie back go to sleep for 5 secs When I clap my hands wake up and swim to a space All pupils attempt climbing out watch for pupils who may need help or as Check all pupils parents

8 Lesson 7 of 10 Aims of Session: Breaststroke Legs Equipment Required: Woggles, Armbands/Discs Swivel or Jumping Groups (Teacher led) 2 min Front paddle/back paddle START WITH PUSH & GLIDE Feedback throughout Push as hard as you can on the glide Lie flat Introduction of Breaststroke legs Demonstration by competent swimmer Point out symmetry Feet turning out Attempt leg action in supine position with help of woggles Ensure narrow kick Draw circles with your heels As above in prone position As above Emphasise symmetry Demonstrate arms and ask pupils to attempt whole stroke still using woggle if required Re-cap rotate back front to standing Re-cap blowing bubbles for 5secs rhythmically As flat as stroke will allow Chin in water Long glide, high elbows Scooping action with arms Lead rotation with head Demonstrate rhythmical breathing pattern Small group (Ability grouping, ensuring plenty of room) Safely, check all pupils parents have arrived then paper work

9 Lesson 8 of 10 Aims of Session: Frontcrawl/Backcrawl Legs Equipment Required: Floats, Armbands/Discs, Tool Box Swivel or Jumping Groups (Teacher led) 2 min Re-cap basic movement, hop, skip, jump, swim prone and supine, literacy Change direction Work in a space Frontcrawl/Backcrawl Legs Flat as you can Long legs floppy feet Re-cap push and glide prone/supine (no floats) Make an arrow/superman (prone) Push tummy up (supine) Rotate back front to standing Rotate front back to standing Front/back paddle Focus on streamline Teacher led games (Refer to Tool Box) Groups Climb out Place hands on side push off from floor, check all pupils parents have arrived then paper work
