8 Lesson 7 of 10 Aims of Session: Breaststroke Legs Equipment Required: Woggles, Armbands/Discs Swivel or Jumping Groups (Teacher led) 2 min Front paddle/back paddle START WITH PUSH & GLIDE Feedback throughout Push as hard as you can on the glide Lie flat Introduction of Breaststroke legs Demonstration by competent swimmer Point out symmetry Feet turning out Attempt leg action in supine position with help of woggles Ensure narrow kick Draw circles with your heels As above in prone position As above Emphasise symmetry Demonstrate arms and ask pupils to attempt whole stroke still using woggle if required Re-cap rotate back front to standing Re-cap blowing bubbles for 5secs rhythmically As flat as stroke will allow Chin in water Long glide, high elbows Scooping action with arms Lead rotation with head Demonstrate rhythmical breathing pattern Small group (Ability grouping, ensuring plenty of room) Safely, check all pupils parents have arrived then paper work
