Hood Community College Aquatic Center S.E. Stark Street Gresham, Oregon Pool Phone: Take I-84 to the Troutdale Exit (Eastbound) or Exit 17 (Westbound). Continue past fast food restaurants, turn right at light on 257th. Continue up hill, approximately 2.6 miles, turn left onto 17 th Street. Take first left into parking lot. The pool is on the left behind the soccer field. Facility Indoor competition tank (Dome) - pool dimensions: 50 meters by 25 yards, 2 tanks, up to 10 lanes each, 2.5 meters per lane. Competition will occur in deep end of pool, 9 lanes; starts and turns will be at 16.0 feet depth. Parking and seating available for 1,500 spectators. Electronic timing and matrix scoreboard systems added during the 2007 renovation. The competition course has been certified in accordance with C(4). and is on file with USA Swimming. Facilities are accessible for swimmers with disabilities and they are encouraged to participate. Open pool deck areas available for swimmers, coaches, officials and volunteer meet staff only. 2 Rules Current USA Swimming rules will govern this meet. Current Oregon Swimming Safety Guidelines & Warm-up Procedures will be in effect and strictly enforced. The age of the swimmer will be his/her age as of January 5, 2018, the first day of competition. All swimmers entered in the meet must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. Any swimmer without a coach in attendance must report to the Meet Director or Meet Referee who may assist a swimmer in making supervision arrangements, but it is the swimmer s responsibility to make these arrangements prior to the start of warm-ups and to so notify the Meet Referee. Restrictions ONLY COACHES, OFFICIALS, SWIMMERS, & MEET VOLUNTEERS ARE PERMITTED ON DECK. The use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not allowed in changing areas, rest rooms, locker rooms, or behind the blocks. Photography is not allowed behind the blocks during the start of a race or relay exchange. Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present. Deck changing is prohibited. Shaving is not permitted anywhere in the facility. Tobacco products of any kind, alcoholic beverages, and glass containers are not allowed in the venue. No skateboards allowed on the MHCC campus. Only Service Animals permitted on the MHCC Campus. NO overnight camping allowed on the MHCC Campus. Format The meet format will be SCY, pre-seeded, timed finals events for A/B/C athletes, with the following exceptions: Events 1 & 2 Girls & Boys OPEN 1650 YD Freestyle This event will be deck-seeded, and positive check-in will be required to be seeded into the event. Coaches are responsible for positive check-in of their athletes by 4:15pm at the Clerk of Course. Events 1 & 2 will be seeded and swum fastest to slowest, alternating girl s and boy s heats. A combined women s/men s heat may be swum, at the discretion of meet management. Athletes / teams must provide their own timers (2) and person to count (if desired). Eligibility This meet is open to athletes of invited teams. All athletes must be currently registered with USA Swimming or registered with a USA Swimming recognized foreign federation. No on-deck registration will be permitted. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing racing starts or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.

To Submit Entries 1. Use Short Course Yards times for seeding NT entries will be accepted. 2. HY-TEK Meet Manager 6.0 Software will be used. 3. Ages and USA Swimming registration numbers must be included with entries. 5. With submission of entries, the coach/team representative attests that all swimmers entered are registered with USA Swimming. 6. Swimmers with a disability are welcome to enter this meet. The coach or entry chairperson must alert the meet director and the meet referee as to the need of any special accommodations or seeding arrangements at the time entries are submitted. Entry Limit Swimmers may enter a maximum of three (3) individual events per day, and a maximum of seven (7) individual events total. 6 GENERAL MEET INFORMATION Scoring by gender and age group: 8&U, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15&O Awards Individual: Ribbons to 18 th place High Point: Girls & Boys for each age group: 8&U, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15&O Timers 1650 Freestyle: Athletes / teams must provide their own timers (2) and person to count (if desired). All teams will be given general lane timing assignments for all other events. Timers are asked to report to the Volunteer Check-In to sign in & receive their Volunteer Badge. Timers will need to report to the head timing area no later than 15 min prior to the start of each session Hospitality Hospitality will be provided for coaches and officials in the GE 201 building. Concessions A small concessions area is provided by the facility next to the Front Desk. The Host Team receives no benefit from the Concessions provided by the facility. SWIMMERS ASKED TO GIVE BACK While we all know that swimmers are always hungry, most do not ever know true hunger. While there are many food drives over the holidays, once all the celebrating is over, the need still goes on. Mt. Hood Aquatics has organized a food drive part of our MHA Seth Dawson Memorial Invitational. We ask you to consider supporting our local food bank, Zarephath, by bringing a donation of non-perishable food to the meet. We will have collection bins available throughout the meet and on Monday, our swimmers will deliver these donations on behalf of the entire swimming community. Thank you for your support!
