Emerson, Bloomington, IL The Fort Natatorium pool is a 25 yd., eight-lane pool with starting blocks and touchpads at one end. The start end depth ranges from 4 6 to 13, and turn end depth is 3 6 in all lanes. Colorado 6 with eight-lane scoreboard. The diving well will be available for warm-up/cool-down during the meet. Swimmers may only enter from the far (non-starting) end. A marshal will supervise the diving well. Saturday & Sunday AM (10 & under): Warm-up 7:00 AM, meet starts 8:00 AM Saturday & Sunday PM (11 & over): Warm-up 12:00 PM, meet starts 1:00 PM Saturday Distance: Immediately following the conclusion of the Saturday PM session, there will be a 20-minute warm-up break before the start of the Team areas will be located on deck for swimmers only. All USA and ISI swimming and safety rules will be strictly enforced. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.

2 ELIGIBILITY: All USA Swimming registered athletes are eligible. All swimmers must be registered prior to entry deadline. Entries listed as Registration Applied For will not be accepted. Registration forms can be obtained from the Illinois Swimming Office, 1400 E. Touhy Ave., Suite 410, Des Plaines, IL 60018, phone (847) A swimmer s age as of February 3, 2018 will determine their age for the meet. MEMBERSHIP: Insurance regulations require that all swimmers, coaches, judges, starters, and meet referees be current members of USA Swimming. It is each club s responsibility to register their swimmers, coaches, and officials. Swimmers, coaches, and officials who are not current members of USA Swimming may not participate in the meet or be on deck. COACHES: POOL: All coaches must be currently registered with USA Swimming and must continuously display their current USA Swimming Coach Member registration card while on deck. The competition course has been certified in accordance with C(4). The copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming. ENTRY DEADLINE & FORMS: Entries will not be accepted before 8:00 AM, Friday, January 5. We will accept entries until noon on Monday, January 22. Only entries received by will be accepted; no hand deliveries. Please send a Hy-Tek file to tgilbert@iwu.edu along with a PDF copy of your entries showing swimmers current registration numbers. Entries will be on a first received, first entered basis. Entries received before the due date will be returned. Complete entries include: entry fees, signed release, and entry form. All payments and hard copies of entries are due within 48 hours of . Entry summary sheet and waiver should be mailed to the address shown on the summary sheet. CHECK-IN: TIMELINE: Positive check-in will be conducted at the meet. Check-in will close 45 minutes prior to the start of each session. The Meet Director reserves the right to pre-seed the meet and eliminate positive check-in if the timeline allows. The Meet Director reserves the right to limit entries, events, or heats, or to modify the meet format, in order to conform with the 4-hour session limit. Possible modifications include fly-over starts, elimination of relays, and limiting events 200 yards and longer. The Meet Director also reserves the right to insert one or more breaks in each session and/or use fewer than 8 lanes in order to ensure

3 swimmers have enough rest between events. The competition pool may be open for warm-up during these breaks. SEEDING: BULLPEN: The conforming time standard for this meet is short course yards. Swimmers will be seeded in heats from slowest to fastest. All non-conforming times will be seeded last in rank order. All 10 & under swimmers must report to the bullpen, which will be on deck near the diving well. ENTRY LIMITS: Swimmers may swim a maximum of 5 individual events and 1 relay per day. ENTRY FEES: $10.00 surcharge per swimmer in lieu of admissions, $2.00 per swimmer ISI fee, $3.00 per individual event entry, and $7.00 per relay entry. AWARDS: Awards will be given to the top 12 finishers in each individual event and the top 3 relays. Open events will not be awarded. All heat winners will receive awards. SCORING: Individual events: Relay events: RESULTS: A copy of the Final Results will be ed to all teams having five (5) or more entrants. Individuals may order paper final results for $ ADMISSION: There will be no admission charge ($10 surcharge in lieu of it). Heat sheets will be available for purchase for $2.00 at the beginning of each session. Teams with 5 or more swimmers will be provided 4 heat sheets. RELAYS: WARM-UP: All relay names & entries must be submitted to the table 30 minutes before the start of each session. All current Illinois Swimming warm-up and safety guidelines will be in effect. The host club will post additional warm-up information for all swimmers and coaches attending the meet. Marshals will ensure all teams, coaches, and swimmers follow these procedures. The meet director reserves the right to change warm-up times according to the number of entries. Teams will be assigned lanes for warm-up. Warm-up may be split into two sessions at the meet director s discretion.

4 SAFETY GUIDELINES 1. Coaches Responsibilities a. Coaches shall instruct their swimmers regarding safety guidelines and warm up procedures as they apply to conduct at meets and practices. b. Coaches shall actively supervise their swimmers throughout the warm-up session at meets and all practices. 2. Host Team Responsibilities a. Marshaling 1) A marshal, who reports to and receives instructions from the Meet Referee, shall be on the deck during the warm-up session. 2) Marshals shall have the authority to remove from the deck, for the remainder of the warm-up session, any swimmer or coach who is in violation of safety or warm-up procedures. b. Warm-up times and lane assignments shall be published in the meet information and posted at several locations around the pool area. The following statement shall appear in the information: Illinois Swimming, Inc. Safety Guidelines and Warm-up Procedures will be in effect at this meet. c. An announcer shall be on duty for the entire Warm-up session to announce lane and/or time changes and to assist with the conduct of the Warm-up. d. Hazards in locker rooms, on the deck area or in areas used by coaches, swimmers, spectators, or officials shall be removed or clearly marked. 3. Miscellaneous: a. Backstrokers shall ensure that they are not starting at the same time as a swimmer on the blocks. b. Swimmers shall not jump or dive into the pool to stop another swimmer on a recalled start. c. Swimmers are required to exit the pool upon completion of their warm-up to allow other swimmers adequate warm-up time. The pool is not for visiting or playing during the warm-up session. d. Warm-up procedures shall be enforced for any breaks scheduled during the competition. e. The Referee may restrict use of bands, hand paddles, or fins during warm-up. The Referee shall have control over mitigation actions necessary to relieve situations deemed as dangerous or impairing the safety of other swimmers. TIMERS: OFFICIALS: Volunteer timers may be needed at this meet. The host club will communicate a list of timing assignments at least five days prior to the start of the competition. There will be a need for officials at this event. Officials who would like to work the meet should contact Meet Referee John Bishop at jbishop@f-w.com to be assigned positions.

5 DRONES: Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present. DIGITAL USAGE: Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms, or locker rooms. CHANGING: Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is prohibited.
