3 OUT IN NATURE YMCA CAMP RENTAL The YMCA camp property is 26 acres on Lake Springfield. It is available for family, group or organization s activities. The rental season is May October. The camp is available evenings or weekends and features a lodge, bathrooms, sports field, trails and water front. There is a $ nonrefundable room deposit. The balance is due the two weeks prior to the event. Event is considered confirmed with issuance of contract. Deposit is due and nonrefundable in the case of cancellation by rental group. The group must provide one adult chaperone, over the age of 18, for every 5 children over the age of 5. For children under 5, an adult is required to be within arms length of the child at all times. A YMCA staff member will be on site during the event. The YMCA provides tables and benches in the lodge and picnic tables outside. A dock is available. Swimming or wading is prohibited. Prep area with refrigeration, stove and microwave are available. Decorations, including table cover, are the responsibility of the party host and must be removed at party end. When dark, flashlights are necessary as outdoor lighting is limited to the immediate lodge area. Boats, fishing and sports equipment are the responsibility of the rental group. Swimming and wading are prohibited. Group must provide a certificate of insurance with signed agreement and deposit. Limited to groups of less than 120. Parking is limited. 4 SWOOSH»»» FENCING FUN PARTY A Fencing Party is a private party available for age groups 9 years and older and limited to groups 6 to 20 participants. It is scheduled based on room and instructor availability on Saturday afternoons 2:30 4:30 pm at the. Reservations preferred 2-4 weeks prior to the event. There is a $50.00 nonrefundable room deposit. The balance is due the day of the event. Event is considered confirmed with issuance of contract. 9 FLIP, ROLL & CHEER YMCA GYMNASTICS PARTY Gymnastics Parties are offered at the on Friday evenings or Saturdays or Sunday afternoons based on YMCA staff and room availability. Target age group is 5 years and older. Staff can adjust for preschool and toddler parties upon request. A private room is scheduled for the group s use. The gymnastics portion is also private and is led by YMCA staff. Reservations preferred 2-4 weeks prior to the event. There is a $50.00 nonrefundable room deposit. The balance is due the day of the event. Event is considered confirmed with issuance of contract. Deposit is due and nonrefundable in the case of cancellation by rental group, The group must provide one adult chaperone, over the age of 18, for every 5 children. 11 SATURDAY SPLASH SWIM BIRTHDAY PARTY A Swim Birthday Party is a held at the Downtown Branch on Saturdays only. It is available for all age groups but limited to 15 or fewer swimmers. A private room is scheduled for the group s use from 1:30 4:15 pm. The swim portion is shared and held during the scheduled open swim on from 2 3 pm. Reservations preferred 2-4 weeks prior to the event. There is a $50.00 nonrefundable room deposit. The balance is due the day of the event. Event is considered confirmed with issuance of contract. Deposit is due and nonrefundable in the case of cancellation by rental group, The group must provide one adult chaperone, over the age of 18, for every 5 children. The pools are assigned zones 1 4. The small pool (1) and the large pool (2-4), Zones 2 & 3 in shallow end and 4 in deep end of the large pool. Swimmers under the age of 8 require one adult to be in the water within shallow zone (1-3) children are in. If a child completes the deep water test an adult is not required in the deep zone (4). Youth must pass the deep water test to swim in Zone 4 (deep) regardless of adult presence in the water. The YMCA provides tables and chairs for the number of total guests along with tables (2) to serve as gift and/or food tables. Decorations, including table cover, are the responsibility of the party host and must be removed at party end. Piñatas are not allowed. The Party Room is the group s space for traditional party activities lead by the party s adults. The space will seat comfortably The pools are available for up to 75 participants. Reservations preferred 2-4 weeks prior to the event. There is a $50.00 nonrefundable room deposit. The balance is due the day of the event. Event is considered confirmed with issuance of contract. Deposit is due and nonrefundable in the case of cancellation by rental group, Posted pool rules apply including participation in required swim tests. 14 YMCA OF SPRINGFIELD Aquatic Safety Guidelines Pool Guidelines: The lifeguard s first priority is to ensure patron safety and to protect lives. The lifeguard has the authority to restrict any behavior deemed unsafe or inappropriate. Please respect the decisions made by the YMCA Lifeguard, the Lifeguard on duty has the final authority. Children under the age of 8 may swim unaccompanied by an adult (age 18 and older) only upon successful completion of the swim test. If completion of the swim test is not successful, an adult must accompany the child with both feet in the water touching the bottom in the designated zone. The lifeguard may require an adult remain within arms reach of a child. Only Coast Guard approved floatation devices will be permitted as long as they are used properly and there is not threat to the safety or comfort of others. Even with a floatation device the lifeguard may require the adult remain within arms reach of a child. Children who are not potty trained must wear appropriate swim diapers. Disposable or cloth diapers are not permitted. All swimmers under the age of 18, or anyone upon the request of the lifeguard, must pass a swim test to occupy deep water. Definition of deep water: when the water is above the arm pits while the person stands flatfooted on the bottom of the pool. General Pool Rules: 1. No hanging or pulling on the lane lines or ropes. 2. Foul language and rough play are not permitted. 3. Approved swim wear must be worn in the water. No street clothes will be allowed. 4. Any person known or suspected of having a communicable disease, infection or open cuts and/or sores shall not use the pool. 5. Breath holding exercises or similar activities are not permitted. 6. Flips, spins, or jumping backwards off of the side of the pool is not permitted. Diving is permitted in designated areas only. 7. Bandages or gum are not permitted in the pool area. 8. Pool equipment such as the following: kickboards, pull buoys, flippers and instructional equipment including noodles, bubble belts, and water weights will only be issued to adults, instructional class participants, swim team, and MSC therapy participants. These items cannot be used as floatation devices. Coast Guard approved floatation devices are available upon request. 9. To avoid injury, patrons must WALK at ALL TIMES ON THE DECK. 10. Only branch approved water toys are permitted in the pool area.
15 YMCA OF SPRINGFIELD Aquatic Safety Guidelines Lap Swim Rules: 1. Patrons must be at least 13 years of age to swim alone in the lap lanes. Children 12 and under may participate in lap swim with approval of the lifeguard on duty. 2. When SPY Swim Team Practice and other Youth Programming are scheduled the available lap lanes will be for adults only (age 16 and older). 3. Lap swim should be an orderly continuous swim. If space is available, water walking/water exercise will be permitted. 4. Diving or jumping from the starting blocks is not permitted unless you have been trained in competitive swimming, are being supervised by a YMCA coach or instructor, or have permission from the lifeguard. Never dive, jump or push off into an oncoming swimmer(s). 5. If others are waiting please limit your swim time. 6. If less than 3 swimmers are in a lane, please do one of the following: Swim in a circle keeping to the right. Share the lane by splitting the lane left and right. 7. When there are more than 2 swimmers, circle swimming is required and the following courtesies must be observed. Slower swimmers must allow faster swimmers to pass. Slower swimmers should wait at the wall until the faster swimmer passes and /or turns. 8. Only individuals who are employed or under contract with the YMCA may coach or teach in YMCA pools. Deep Water Swim Ability 3 Part Test Only 1 test per swimmer per day 1. Continuous swim of 2 widths (Downtown) or 1 length (Kerasotes) using the front crawl stroke demonstrating face in and ability to lift head to breath. 2. Jumping in with a return to surface. 3. Immediately treading water for 1 minute. Resistance Pool Guidelines: During non-open swim times the resistance area is for adults(16&over) to water walk. During open swim times the primary use is for youth and families. Fountains will be on and kids are allowed in the area during open swim. Adults wishing to carry their child in the resistance area can but only if the is wearing a Coast Guard approved floatation device. Zero Depth Area: The water features will only be turned on during posted open swim times. Downtown Small Pool: During open swim the small pool is intended for children under 8 and their adult chaperones. Swimmers can be restricted from the small pool if their height or manner of conduct in shallow water is determined to be dangerous by the lifeguard.
16 GAMERS AND POOL SHARKS YOUTH CENTER PARTY A Youth Center party is offered at the on Fridays or Sundays when the youth center is open. The package includes a reserved table in the youth center & shared access to the Youth & Family Center. There is a $50.00 non-refundable deposit. The balance is due the day of the event. Event is considered confirmed with issuance of contract. Deposit is due and non-refundable in the case of cancellation by rental group, The group must provide one adult chaperone, over the age of 18, for every 5 children over the age of 5. For children under 5, an adult is required to be within arms length of the child at all times. A YMCA staff member will be on site during the event. The YMCA provides 2 tables with chairs in the Youth Center. Decorations, including table cover, are the responsibility of the party host and must be removed at party end. Piñatas are not allowed. Ages 5 13 years* Monday Friday, 6 8 pm (YFC 7-8) Saturdays 10 am 12 pm (YFC 10-11) or 2 4 pm (YFC 2-3) Sundays 3-5 pm. (YFC 4-5) A reservation & contract is required. There is a $50.00 nonrefundable room deposit. The balance is due the day of the event based on actual number of YFC participants. The event is considered confirmed with issuance of contract. Deposit is due and nonrefundable in the case of cancellation by rental group. The group must provide one adult chaperone, over the age of 18, for every 5 children. For every child 5-7 years of age, a parent or guardian is required to be in the YFC with the child. A YMCA staff member will be on site during the event. The YMCA provides tables and chairs in the party space for the number of total guests along with tables (2) to serve as gift and/ or food tables. All tables will be 6 8 feet long. Decorations, including table cover, are the responsibility of the party host and must be removed at party end. Piñatas are not allowed. Exergames can be programmed for individuals, groups, teams and competition. Youth ages 5 13 years with target age, 8-13 years. *Youth ages 5-7 may participate if parent or guardian is present in the YFC for the duration of that activity. Minimum of 5 Maximum 20 youth in YFC. YFC staff is present in the YFC and will direct all activities. No food or drink allowed in YFC. Close-toed shoes and socks are required for everyone in the YFC. The event will be scheduled for 3 hours. (1/2 hour set up prior to party start, 1 hour in YFC,1 hour in the party space, 1/2 hour clean up.)
