1 Amherst School Sport Premium Funding Report Autumn 2018 Reporting Sport Premium Amherst School will publish details in a report online annually. This report aims to detail information on how Sport Premium has been used within the school and what the impact has been. Termly updated reports will be presented to the Governors Teaching and Learning committee. There will also be information updated on the termly Headteacher s Report to the FGB. Reporting to Parents Parents will be able to obtain information on how the funding has been spent and its impact via the school website. This will be updated annually. Other information linked to Sport Premium will also be communicated through the weekly newsletter when appropriate. Review of 2017/18 Total amount of Grant received = 19,830 Priorities for Continue to use (and try to utilise more) local sports clubs and coaches to support the quality of teaching and learning. Expert coaching delivered alongside the class teacher. Maintain Gold Kitemark for third consecutive year Provide swimming training to any new and existing members of staff Track and assess pupils swimming ability to ensure we have a clear record of who can or can t swim 25m (2 lengths of our pool would be 30m) Provide additional swimming sessions for any child not on track to swim 25m by the summer term of Year 6 Maintain high level of clubs and extra-curricular activities (currently 22 sports clubs offered each week) maintain registers as a record Maintain high level of participation in inter school competitions Maintain and increase opportunities to link with local sports clubs and sports scholarships to secondary schools

Duncan also helps lead lunchtime hockey club all year, which is attended by approx. 50 children each week. Year 5/6 team won gold at Kent School Games. Best school in Kent. Year 3/4 team came fourth at Kent School Games. Free Cricket Coaching Access free cricket coaching from KCB Highly successful. Brain Gasking delivered cricket coaching to Year 3 in the autumn and summer terms. Enabled strong pathway into Holmesdale CC, which now use our playing field on a Saturday morning. After School cricket club led internally takes place at Holmesdale CC. Good use of coach to run club to prepare for the festival in Term 4. 97% of children in Year 6 could swim 25m confidently, competently and proficiently. 3/96 children unable to swim 25m received additional support. 100% of children in Year 6 use a range of strokes effectively due to high quality swimming curriculum and delivery. 100% of children in Year 6 able to perform safe selfrescue. Gold Kitemark achieved for third consecutive year. Excellent evidence of sustained high quality PE within our school over a long period. Able to now apply for Platinum next year. Over forty girls each week attending Girls Football club. Increased the amount of girls football matches between other local schools. 530 Sports Equipment Purchase junior hockey goalkeeper kit Enable school to participate in additional school matches. Enter Kent Under 11s competition in Canterbury. Entered all boys and all girls teams. 5

Sports Equipment New Indoor Athletics Equipment New Equipment purchased to sustain high quality club and curriculum delivery. School athletics teams (3/4 and 5/6) qualified for county finals. 206 Sports Equipment Purchase additional equipment to enhance Sensory Circuits programme run for Year 3 children.
