1 AZ AAU Beach District Championships Rotary Park, Lake Havasu City, AZ June 8-9th, 2018 AGE GROUPS: 14U, 16U, 18U ENTRY FEE: $75 ENTRY DEADLINE: June 1, 2018 AWARDS: Medals 1-3 (18) Contender Division Winner (6) AAU Beach Most Points Winner (3) Director Awards (6) (Must be present to win) FORMAT: 12 Team Max in each Age Division (14's, 16's, 18's) - Teams play 9 games guaranteed on Day One against five different opponents. - Based on finish teams will move into either the Championship or Contender Divisions on Day Two. - Detailed schedule listed on the back. RULES: Bids will be awarded for the 2018 AAU Junior Olympic games in Santa Monica, CA. Trickle downs maybe awarded. - Any 12's wanting to participate will play in the and receive double the 12's points. - 14's/16's/18's also receive double of their age division points. - All points earned will be submitted to the JO Tournament Director to assist with seeding. Rooms available until gone. st rd This event is licensed by the Amateur Athletic Union of the U. S., Inc. All participants must have a current AAU membership. AAU membership may not be included as part of the entry fee to the event. AAU membership must be obtained before the competition begins except where the event operator has a laptop available with an internet connection. BE PREPARED: Adult and Non-Athlete memberships are no longer instant and cannot be applied for at the event. Please allow up to 10 days for membership to be processed. 2 District Championship Tournament Schedule DAY 1 Round 1- (Divisional Round) 4 Pools of 3 teams Pool A: seeds 1/8/9 - Pool B: seeds 2/7/10 - Pool C: seeds 3/6/11 - Pool D: seeds 4/5/12 Teams are seeded based on AAU points One game to 21 (no technical time outs) 1st place of Pools A/B/C/D will advance to the Championship Division and 3rd place of Pools A/B/C will advance to the Contender Division. 2nd place of Pools A/B/C/D will play in Round 2 to decide their final seeding and division. Round 2- (Bracket Seeding Round) 3 Pools of 4 Teams Pool A: winners of Pools A/B/C/D Pool B: 2nd place of Pools A/B/C/D Pool C: 3rd place of Pools A/B/C/D Match play, best of 3 games (21/21/15), no cap (with technical timeouts for games 1 & 2 but game 3 if needed) DAY 2 Teams will be separated into two brackets: Championship Bracket & Contender Bracket. Contender Bracket teams will not be able to advance to the Championship Bracket and their best finish will be 7th place BUT medals will be given to both Contender Bracket finalists. Both brackets are single elimination with match play, best of 3 (21/21/15), no cap (with technical timeouts for games 1 & 2 but game 3 if needed).
