2 2012 OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. The Tournament Committee shall have sole management of the tournament which shall be played under the laws and regulations of the ITTF and TTA. 2. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to restrict or refuse entries for events, play elimination rounds, cancel or postpone events for any reason. In the occurrence of insufficient entries for any event or events, events may be combined or players may be placed in another event at the discretion of the Tournament Committee and the Referee. 3. All players must be financial and registered members of an affiliated State Association, or an Association affiliated with ITTF. 4. Entry may be by paper Entry Form through the post or by to entries must include full name, DOB and events to be entered. For doubles partners, mark P/R if partner required. Either way, Entry Fees are to be paid prior to the commencement of play. Cheques / Money Orders to be made payable to The St. George and Sutherland Shire Table Tennis Association (STGSSTTA). 5. No refunds will be permitted to players withdrawing during or prior to the tournament. 6. Players may enter a maximum of six (6) events. 7. Double Fish three (3) star 40mm white balls will be used. 8. PLAYERS SHOULD ARRIVE AND REPORT TO THE TOURNAMENT CHECK-IN DESK 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO THEIR FIRST SCHEDULED EVENT TO REGISTER ARRIVAL AND PAY ANY OUTSTANDING FEES. 9. Subject to availability of players and tables, events may be started earlier than scheduled. 10. Time-out (ITTF Regulation ) will only be permitted in events 1 and Number of Games: Events 1 and 2 shall be the best of five (5) advantage games during the Round Robin stage and shall be the best of seven (7) advantage games in the Knockout stage. All games shall be 11 up with service alternating every two (2) points. All other events shall be the best of five (5) advantage games, 11 up with service alternating every two (2) points. 12. Events 6 and 7 are open to players born in 1982 or earlier. 13. Events 8, 9, 10 and 11 are open to players born in 1999 or 14. Events 12, 13, 14 and 15 are open to players born in 1997 or 15. Events 16, 17, 18 and 19 are open to players born in 1994 or 16. Events 20 and 21 open to players born in 1991 or 17. For Events 22 to 30 entrants must be of that standard or lower. 18. For Event 30 at least one player shall be of the lower grade. 19. In the case of doubles where a player is unavailable on the day, he/she may be replaced subject to the approval of the Tournament Committee and the Referee. 20. Clothing: The main colour of a shirt, skirt or shorts should be clearly different from the colour of the ball. Tracksuits should not be worn during match play without the permission of the Referee. 21. Any player failing to appear when called upon to play is liable to be disqualified. 22. Acts of bad sportsmanship will be dealt with under the rules of the game and may be referred to Table Tennis NSW Inc. Council for further action. 23. At the completion of a match it is the responsibility of the WINNER to ensure that the score sheet for that match is correctly completed and returned immediately (along with the pen and the ball) to the Tournament Control Desk. Failure to do this may result in the next opponent being given a walkover. 24. All players must umpire as directed by the Referee or Tournament Committee. ALL PLAYERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO UMPIRE A MINIMUM OF ONE MATCH PER EVENT ENTERED. 25. Persons attending the tournament are responsible for their personal effects. 26. All entrants, coaches and officials should be aware of and comply with the TTNSW Inc. Sexual Harassment and Child Protection Policies. 27. All entrants should be aware of Anti-Doping requirements. The requirements and the Prohibited List can be found on the ASADA website, or ring the Anti-Doping Hotline on It must be noted that Sports Injury Insurance does NOT cover any injury to, or death of, the foetus of a pregnant woman whilst participating in sport. Pregnant women must therefore be advised that they participate at their own risk. 29. No claim whatsoever will be recognised should any player receive an injury during participation in the tournament. 30. It is the responsibility of the entrant to declare any illness or disability which may require medical attention. ALL entrants compete at their own risk. 31. No gluing of rackets is permitted inside the playing venue. 32. The Entry Form must be signed by the player indicating acceptance of these conditions. In the case of players Under 18, the Entry Form must be signed by the player s Parent or Guardian.
