2 Pennant Rules & Conditions 1. MATCH BALLS (white 3 Star + plastic balls) and SCORESHEETS are supplied each Friday. Please return completed scoresheet and ball as early as possible after the match to the Committee Room. 2. Matches are played to 11 advantage points. The singles are played first best-of-5 games. Doubles are played last best-of-7 for Rounds 1 to 9, and best-of-5 for all finals. 3. WARM UP time is available commencing 7:00 PM for Rounds 1 to 10. Warm up time starts at 6:30 PM for the Semi Finals and the Grand Finals. Note: An MSAC court hire fee is required for play before these times. 4. ITTF RACKET and CLOTHING regulations will apply. As match ball is white, players must not wear white shirts or shorts. 5. ITTF SERVICE RULE - from the start of service until it is struck, the ball shall be above the level of the playing surface and behind the server s end line and it shall not be hidden from the receiver by the server or his doubles partner and by anything they wear or carry. As soon as the ball has been projected, the server s free arm shall be removed from the space between the ball and the net. It is the responsibility of the player to serve so that the umpire can see that he/she complies with the requirements for a correct service. 6. WALKOVERS are not permitted. 7. FILL IN PLAYERS - please check the list in the fixture. It is the responsibility of the player to arrange for a fill-in player as soon as possible if unable to play him/herself. (There are no Byes) 8. FILL-INS / SUBSTITUTES (NEW) For Sections 1 & 2, you may use a fill-in player up to 100 Ratings Central points above your rating points. For Sections 3 & 4, you may use a fill-in player up to 50 Ratings Central points above your rating points. If unsure if a player can fill in please check with the Match Secretaries David Kumar or Daisy O Bryan For Section 5, contact the Match Secretaries. To check a player s current rating go to 9. FINALS to be eligible to play in finals a player must have played at least 5 rounds in that season as a team member or as a fill in player in that section, and be on the same or lower win/loss ratio, or a player from a lower section. If no player is available in your section the Pennant Committee may consider a suitable alternative. 10. FINALS FILL-INS - There cannot be 2 fill-in players in a finals team. If neither member of a semi-finalist team is available, then the next placed team becomes the 4th-placed team and teams above adjusted accordingly. 11. TABLE NUMBERS are allocated each week on a rotational basis. Please check your table number posted on the notice board. 12. REGISTRATION all players must be registered either through TTV or another affiliated club or association. TTV RULE a player can play 3 matches only as a fill in for the year without being registered. This applies only to players not playing in an affiliated club, association, pennant or tournament. 13. COUNT BACK - If, at the completion of the final round, 2 sides finish equal, then a count back of games won over games lost will be undertaken. If still equal then a count back on points won over points lost will be undertaken.
