Attendance Minutes of Committee Meeting held at Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre 7.10 pm Tuesday 24 th January 2012 at 7.00pm Office Bearers: Julie McDonald (Chairperson,) Pat Daw (Secretary), Val Nesbitt (Treasurer Regional Reps:- Trevor Mallett (Gippsland), Ron Gray (West Metro), Ken Haggerty (Southern), Wolfgang Zopf (East Metro), Rhonda Cator & Sandra David (Western). Apologies Di Carter (Tournament Director) 2. Minutes of previous meeting. Moved Julie McDonald, seconded Ken Haggerty, that the minutes be accepted. Carried. 3. Business Arising from the Minutes 3.1 a) Report received from Kay Coady. b) It was decided that Coach and Manager Reports should be given to the Coach and Manager of the Teams the following year, 3.2 Exemption Policy and discussed. Approved by the meeting. 3.3 Aussie Farmers Direct, information to be added to website, more brochures have been ordered for distribution to academies and associations. ongoing 3.4 VJB address ongoing 3.5 Seeding Guidelines, Gobi ongoing 3.6 BV By Laws VJB Committee Julie and Pat are reviewing this document ongoing 3.7 Under age Team Nomination Form Player Nomination Forms for U17 & U19 were discussed and approved. 3.8 VJB run tournaments assistance from parents Di to report on December Tournament ongoing 3.9 Rankings for Victorian Junior Teams Julie to seek clarification from Badminton Australia re this issue Payment for Coaches VJB agreed to pay $ to the Coach of Team 2 for 2012 in U15, 17 & 19 Carnivals as a trial. Under 17 Rebels - David Cromie, Under 17 Demons - Gary Grierson Under 19 Team 1 Kay Coady, Team 2 Re-Wen Clarnette Under 15 Team 1- Kathryn Blencowe, Team 2 David Cromie 4.3 From Marnie Firipis re supplying a medallion to the winning Country Team in each age group of the Vic Junior Team events the meeting decided that the current system would stand and that Vic Country Teams should enter events such as the Ballarat Country Cup. 4.4 From Kanny Lai Julie to reply re meeting the criteria 4.5 BV State Director, Track suits for all Teams in 2012 will cost an additional $70.00, which will be added to the Team Costing. Outgoing 4.6 From VJB Secretary acknowledging CBA s donation with thanks. 5.0 REPORTS 5.1 Finance. The Treasurer s Income/Expenditure report was circulated and Val Nesbitt moved and Julie McDonald seconded the report be received. The report showed a profit to 01/12/11 of $

GENERAL BUSINESS 6.1 U17 & U19 costs ongoing 6.2 Under 19. The meeting unanimously decided to allow two teams to be chosen if enough players nominate. Rhonda noted there was a caravan park within walking distance of the stadium, which may be looked at for more reasonably priced accommodation. 6.3 There was much discussion re an Under 17 player who withdrew from a second event in the Mandatory Under 17 Tournament at Ballarat. The player chose to only play singles and was asked by a Selector to reconsider, he chose not to play the second event. All agreed that players should play a minimum of two disciplines as per Selection Policy. 6.4 Selection Events for 2012 will be confined to two disciplines. Associations who decide to play three disciplines must play the third discipline on a separate day after the Selection disciplines have been played. 6.5 Secretary to add to Tournament Guidelines Policy A backup of all Selection Tournaments is to sent to Badminton Victoria admin@badmintonvic.com.au and Peter Cocker cockerp@internode.on.net 6.6 Secretary to write a step by step guide to making a backup of a Tournament Software file, Tournament & league Planner. 4
