These Regulations replace the previous regulations enacted in January However, note that any affiliated Association or Participant Member may apply to the TTA Board for variation of any of these new regulations up until 31 December 2017 under this transitional provision. 3 Chapter 1 - HOSTING OF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 1. The right to conduct a National Championship - Seniors & Youth ( National Championship ) shall be granted by Table Tennis Australia ( TTA ). Order of rotation 2. A State/Territory Association ( Association ) may apply for a licence to conduct a National Championship in the following order of rotation: 2017 South Australia 2018 Northern Territory 2019 Tasmania 2020 Queensland 2021 New South Wales 2022 Western Australia 2023 Victoria 2024 Australian Capital Territory 3. Unless rule 2 is amended, the rotation shall continue in the same order as from 2025 onwards. 4. A National Championship shall be held once in every calendar year. 5. The National Championship shall normally be staged between July and September however, TTA may vary these dates in its discretion. 6. The Chief Executive Officer ( CEO ) of TTA shall determine, no later than 12 months prior to the National Championship, if the relevant Association wishes to exercise its right to apply for a licence. 7. A licence shall not be granted where the proposed facilities for the conducting of a National Championship are in the opinion of TTA of an inadequate nature. 8. Where an Association fails to exercise its right to apply, or a licence is not granted by virtue of rule 7, applications shall be invited from the remaining Associations to conduct such National Championship in lieu of the relevant Association (for avoidance of doubt, the granting of a licence under this rule does not affect the order of rotation as set out in rule 2). Host Association 9. The Association granted a licence to conduct a National Championship shall be termed the Host Association. Chapter 2 - COMMITTEES OF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Organising Committee 10. An Organising Committee shall be appointed by the Host Association and may comprise such members as deemed desirable. 11. The function of the Organising Committee shall be to organise and conduct the National Championship on behalf of TTA and subject to the governing regulations. 12. The Organising Committee is responsible for ensuring that any sponsorship obtained for a National Championship does not conflict with any sponsorship arrangements of TTA. Management Committee 13. A Management Committee shall be appointed prior to the commencement of a National Championship and shall comprise: Page 3 of 16

4 a Chairperson appointed by TTA who shall only be entitled to a casting vote; the Referee appointed to the National Championship who shall not be entitled to a vote; one representative from each competing Association (preferably the Team Manager) who shall be entitled to 1 vote each; and one representative for all President s Teams (if any) who shall be entitled to 1 vote. 14. The function of the Management Committee shall be to consider: any appeals against rulings of the Host Association or Referee on a question of tournament conduct not covered by the ITTF Laws and Regulations; any alterations to a draw permissible under the ITTF Laws and Regulations; any additions and/or substitutions to nominated teams; any disciplinary matter which may occur during the National Championship; and any scheduling of matches in relation to direct television or internet streaming transmission. 15. The Management Committee shall meet: on the day of the Opening Ceremony at a time and place as advised by the Host Association; and at any other time as required by the Chairperson. 16. The Host Association shall provide a room suitable for Management Committee meetings. Chapter 3 - GENERAL RULES OF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Events 17. The National Championship shall comprise at least the following events: S1 Mens Team S2 Womens Team S3 Mens Singles S4 Womens Singles S5 Mens Doubles S6 Womens Doubles S7 Mixed Doubles Y1 Under 21 Mens Team Y2 Under 21 Womens Team Y3 Under 21 Mens Singles Y4 Under 21 Womens Singles Y5 Under 21 Mens Doubles Y6 Under 21 Womens Doubles Y7 Under 21 Mixed Doubles 18. TTA may include other events in a National Championship in its discretion. 19. Team events and individual events may run concurrently throughout a National Championship. 20. A National Championship shall be conducted in a maximum of 6 consecutive days (unless varied by TTA). Conditions 21. A National Championship shall be conducted in accordance with the ITTF Laws and Regulations however in circumstances where there is a direct conflict with these Regulations and the ITTF Laws and Regulations, these Regulations shall take precedence. 22. No admission shall be charged for public entry to any playing session during a National Championship. Page 4 of 16

5 23. Double pairings from different Associations may only have 1 advisor (and not 2 advisors as stated under the ITTF Laws and Regulations). 24. Teams and/or players absent when called upon to play at any specified time, or altered specified time, shall render themselves liable to disqualification from that particular match. 25. The Host Association conducting the National Championship shall pay a fee for every player competing to TTA such fee to be determined by TTA in its discretion. Times of play 26. Where matches are played in the morning, no match shall commence before 9.00 am. Where matches are played in the evening, no match shall commence after p.m. However, these time limits may be altered by the Referee in exceptional circumstances. Player uniforms 27. All players are required to have either a player number or their name on the back of their playing shirt numbers must be placed on a player s shirt just above the waist and secured by safety pins. 28. In circumstances where a player does not have their name on the back of their playing shirt, the Host Association shall provide a player number to such player competing in the team and/or individual events. 29. Any name on the back of a playing shirt must be visible and printed in English the name must include the last or family name and initials, or if space permits, the actual first name (the initials or first name must precede the last or family name). 30. Any name on a playing shirt should be placed just below the shoulder blades and if emblazoned on a Association representative shirt, the Association name should also be included below the player s name the name must be visible at all times. 31. During team events, players representing their Association must wear clothing as specified by their Association body ( B & C teams must have a variation of the A team shirt) the colours for all shirts must be advised to TTA and the Host Association. 32. State/Territory or Australian tracksuits or shirts bearing any form of State/Territory or Australian insignia shall not be worn by any person other than the one who is or was a member of the particular State/Territory team or of the Australian team whose uniform he or she wears. Injury or illness 33. Where a player absents himself/herself from any team match due to an injury or illness which is cited by the player as a temporary condition, such player may be requested by the Team Manager (of the Association to which the player is a member of) to produce a medical certificate from a designated medical professional detailing the injury (and prognosis) before such player may resume participation in a National Championship. 34. In circumstances where a player is afflicted by an injury or illness which is of a temporary condition, such player shall not be permitted to practice or train in the playing venue until the player is fully fit to resume competition (unless brief practice is required only in order to determine whether the relevant player is fit to resume competition). Chapter 4 - FORMS FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Prospectus 35. The Host Association shall prepare a Prospectus for a National Championship from the sample template, and send same to each affiliated Association and the CEO of TTA no later than 4 calendar months prior to the commencement date of the National Championship. 6 36. The Host Organisation shall be responsible for recommending accommodation and dining options in any Prospectus prepared for distribution. Preliminary Entry Form 37. The Host Association shall send a copy of the Preliminary Entry Form to each affiliated Association and the CEO of TTA no later than 4 calendar months prior to the commencement date of the National Championship. 38. Associations wishing to compete shall return the completed form to the Host Association no later than 3 calendar months prior to the commencement date of the National Championship. Entry Forms 39. Entry forms for the National Championship shall be prepared by the Host Association from the sample template, and a proof shall be sent to the CEO of TTA for checking prior to being distributed. 40. Unless otherwise specified, all prescribed forms relevant to the National Championship shall be returned to the Host Association by each Association no later than 6 weeks preceding the commencement date of the National Championship. 41. The names of current title holders of all events shall be recorded on the entry form. 42. Entries into team and individual events must be submitted on the prescribed forms. 43. On receipt of confirmed entries the Host Association shall invoice the Association for the total amount which must be paid prior to the commencement of the National Championship (any adjustments during the event shall be invoiced or refunded after the event). 44. For avoidance of doubt, an entry may be received from a non-team player who wishes to enter individual events only provided such player complies with rule 45 (and is eligible to play under rule 90). 45. Entries may be accepted to the National Championship only if the entry form has been: received by the Association not later than 7 weeks prior to the commencement of the National Championship; authorised by the player and relevant fee paid; all entries transferred to the Bulk Entry Form by the Association and which is to be received by the Host Association no later than 6 weeks prior to the commencement of the National Championship; and duly authorised by an accredited representative of the Association whose players are concerned. 46. A player entering any event at a National Championship may be required to produce suitable documentation if the eligibility of such player is questioned. Chapter 5 - REFEREES & UMPIRES Appointment 47. The Referee appointed to a National Championship shall be a qualified National or International Referee (in circumstances where no such person is available, a person of at least National Umpire level may be appointed). 48. The Deputy Referee(s) shall be qualified to at least National Umpire level and where possible be selected from the Host Association. 49. Selection of the Referee and Deputy Referee(s) shall be made by the Host Association in conjunction with the TTA Umpires & Referees Committee (all selections must be ratified by TTA). 50. Qualified Umpires shall officiate during the National Championship whenever practical. Page 6 of 16

The Host Association shall at all times co-operate with the TTA Umpires & Referees Committee for the purpose of conducting examinations for qualification of persons as National Umpires and National Referees. Expenses 52. The Organising Committee shall be responsible for the travel and accommodation of the Referee and Deputy Referee(s). 53. A subsidy may be paid by the Host Association to referees and umpires who officiate at a National Championship in its discretion. Chapter 6 - PLAYING CONDITIONS AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Equipment 54. The Host Association shall select tables of uniform quality and manufacture and suitable scorers for use in a National Championship. 55. The ball to be used in a National Championship must be an ITTF approved white 3-star plastic ball. 56. The playing space of each court shall be not less than 12 metres long, 6 metres wide and 5 metres high (unless varied by TTA). 57. The light intensity, measured at the height of the playing surface, shall be at least 600 lux uniformly over the playing surface, and at least 400 lux elsewhere in the playing area of the court. The light source shall not be less than 5 metres above the floor. Chapter 7 - TEAM EVENTS AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP General 58. The purpose of a team event at a National Championship is to determine the Champion Team from the representative teams of the affiliated Associations of TTA. 59. Results of all matches shall be used to determine the relative placings of all teams in accordance with the ITTF Laws and Regulations. 60. A team event for a respective category may be held only where at least three entries are received for that event. 61. A team event shall only be open to teams from affiliated Associations and teams designated as President s Team(s). 62. A maximum of 9 rounds including play-off matches may be played in each team event. 63. A player may only be included in one team when multiple team events are played at the same National Championship. 64. The teams entered shall be ranked in playing strength by the National Selection Panel as soon as possible after the closing date of entries. 65. All teams are to be seeded in their appropriate order of strength irrespective of the designation of the team as A, B C or President s. 66. All teams are eligible to win a team event at a National Championships irrespective of the designation of the team as A, B C or President s. Page 7 of 16

8 Eligibility 67. In order to be eligible to play in any team event of a National Championship, a player must: have been residing continuously (apart from any bode fide vacation) in Australia for a period of at least 12 months prior to the commencement date of the Championships; and have been a registered member of an affiliated Association for a period of at least 12 months prior to the commencement date of the Championships. 68. In order to be eligible to represent a particular State/Territory Association in a team event of a National Championship, a player must: have been residing continuously (apart from any bode fide vacation) in that particular State/Territory for a period of at least 6 months prior to the commencement date of the Championships; and have been a registered member of that particular State/Territory Association for a period of at least 6 months prior to the commencement date of the Championships. 69. A player who under normal circumstances would be deemed eligible to represent a particular State/Territory at a National Championship but as a consequence has been approved to be based outside their State/Territory for the purposes of table tennis shall be deemed eligible to represent their State/Territory. 70. A player, having previously been qualified to represent a State/Territory, but for the purposes of employment or study has temporarily left that State/Territory with the intention of returning, shall be deemed eligible to represent that State/Territory at a National Championship. 71. In order to play in a youth event, a player must be under the age of 21 years as of the 31 st day of December of the previous year in which the National Championship is to be held. State/Territory Teams 72. Each affiliated Association may enter an A team, a B team and a C team in any team event. 73. Each affiliated Association shall nominate not more than 3 players per team, and if so desired, a Non- Playing Captain ( NPC ) for each team. 74. The Management Committee shall have power to accept late nominations to a team in exceptional circumstances. 75. The entry of all teams must be sent to the Host Association with a copy sent to the CEO of TTA by the due date. President s Teams 76. The philosophy of a President s Team is to allow players to compete in a team event who are bordering on selection for their State/Territory but have not quite reached the required standard for selection. In addition, where a State/Territory is unable to enter a full team, a player who is deemed to be of a suitable standard may be nominated for a President s team in a team event. 77. Importantly, TTA and/or the National Selection Panel shall have the right to nominate one or more players to play in a President s Teams in any team event (irrespective of rule 80) provided that such player(s) is not under disciplinary sanction or is unfinancial with any affiliated Association. 78. A nomination of a player to a President s Team is not a guarantee of selection selection (and the composition of players in a President s team) is to be determined by TTA in its discretion. 79. Each President s Team shall consist of not more than 3 players per team, and where desired or practical, a Non-Playing Captain ( NPC ) for each team. 80. President s Team nominations by a State/Territory shall be limited to 3 players per team event. Page 8 of 16

9 81. A President s Team shall not consist of players from the same affiliated Association unless authorised by TTA. 82. The Host Association shall provide a playing shirt and TTA shall provide a shirt badge with the words President s Team for each player selected in a President s Team (the shirt shall be provided at the player s expense). 83. Each player selected in a President s Team shall be liable for his or her share of the team entry fee as determined by the Host Association. 84. The Host Association shall appoint a Team Manager in respect of all Presidents Teams. 85. Players of a President s Team may have their own individual advisor who must be nominated by the player s State/Territory prior to the commencement of a team match such advisor is separate to the President s team and may only advise such player during time of his or her play and must not advise at any other time during the team match. However, this rule shall only apply in circumstances where a President s Team does not have a NPC appointed at the commencement of a Championship. Format of Play 86. The format and order of play for team events is as set out in Appendix The maximum number of team matches to be played on the same day by any team shall be 3 matches this may only be varied by the Referee in exceptional circumstances. 88. Times of play should be so scheduled as to provide adequate rest periods between team matches. 89. Unless otherwise decided by the Host Association, the responsibility to provide an umpire for each individual match in a team event shall rest with players of the participating teams. Chapter 8 - INDIVIDUAL EVENTS AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Eligibility 90. In order to be eligible to play in the individual events of a National Championship, a player must: have been residing continuously (apart from any bode fide vacation) in Australia for a period of at least 12 months prior to the commencement date of the Championships; and have been a registered member of an affiliated Association for a period of at least 12 months prior to the commencement date of the Championships; and have played in a team event at the same National Championship (or if not played, made himself/herself available for selection by an affiliated Association or as a President s player in a team event). 91. In order to play in a youth event, a player must be under the age of 21 years as of the 31 st day of December of the previous year in which the National Championship is to be held. Seeding 92. An affiliated Association is entitled to nominate up to 4 entrants in an individual event in order of playing strength for the purposes of the ITTF rule as to Seeding by Association Nomination. However, note that such nomination of entrants may be amended by the National Selection Panel if the order of playing strength conflicts with any seeding conducted under rule An affiliated Association shall forward to the Host Association no later than 6 weeks prior to the commencement of a National Championships any list of players and/or pairs nominated under rule No later than 3 weeks before the National Championship, the Host Association shall forward a list of players entered in each event and the list of entrants nominated by each affiliated Association to the CEO of TTA and the appointed Referee. 10 95. Seeding for events shall be carried out by the National Selection Panel using the most current National Ranking List (and any other reliable information where such List is deemed to be insufficient). 96. The draw for any individual event shall not be made until the seeding list has been received by the Host Association and Referee. 97. The National Selection Panel shall provide no more than 8 seeds for each individual event. 98. Where the first round of an event is determined by a round robin group, the National Selection Panel must nominate sufficient players to ensure there is one (and not more than one) nominated player in each group. 99. The National Selection Panel shall also determine, but not release, additional seeds and nominated players for each event. Upon notification from the Host Association of the non-entry of any previously seeded or nominated player, the National Selection Panel shall immediately notify the Host Association and Referee of such reserve seeding(s) or nominated player(s). Draw 100. The draw for each event shall be conducted in accordance with the ITTF Laws and Regulations. Format of Play 101. The format and order of play for individual events is as set out in Appendix 2. Chapter 9 - PERPETUAL TROPHIES Perpetual in nature 102. All Cups, Shields and Trophies shall be deemed perpetual in nature unless specified otherwise and as such shall remain the property of TTA The Host Association shall arrange to have any necessary engraving of perpetual trophies done and TTA shall be responsible for the relevant cost. Team events 104. Medallions shall be presented to all team members (and NPC, if any) of all team events and the presentation shall be the subject of official photograph (excepting any NPC) TTA shall provide at cost to the Host Association medallions for presentation to each nominated team member and NPC in each team event such medallions shall be GOLD for the first-placed team, SILVER for the second- placed team and BRONZE for the third-placed team (of a standard design) Perpetual Trophies shall be presented as follows: Mens Team Keith Bowler Trophy Womens Team Ron Jones Shield Under 21 Mens Team Neil Ward Shield Under 21 Womens Team Denise Horder (nee Millikan) Shield 107. Nominated players and NPCs not attending the National Championship shall not be eligible to receive medallions or trophies. Individual events 108. Medallions shall be presented to all winners, runners-up and losing semi-finalists of all individual events and the presentation shall be the subject of official photograph. Page 10 of 16

TTA shall provide at cost to the Host Association medallions for presentation in each individual event such medallions shall be GOLD for all winners, SILVER for all runners-up, and BRONZE for losing semi-finalists (of a standard design) The Host Association shall bear the cost of (and arrange to have done) any necessary engraving on all medallions Perpetual Trophies shall be presented as follows: Mens Singles H N Smith Cup Womens Singles Halex Cup Mens Doubles Phil Anderson Cup Womens Doubles Suzy Javor Cup Mixed Doubles Laurie Wharmby Cup U/21 Mens Singles Joe Niles Memorial Cup U/21 Womens Singles Mary Le Gassick Trophy U/21 Mens Doubles William Henzell Trophy U/21 Womens Doubles Miao Miao Trophy U/21 Mixed Doubles Phil Males Trophy Chapter 10 PRIZEMONEY Allocation 112. The prizemoney allocated to team and individual events at a National Championships shall be determined by TTA and set out in Appendix Additional prizemoney may be offered by either the Host Association or sponsor(s) the allocation to events shall be determined in conjunction with TTA. Chapter 11 PUBLICITY Official Program 114. The Official Program shall provide a full and complete copy of the draw for each event to be played specifying the dates and times of play for each such event Where appropriate, all names listed shall be followed by the name of that person s State/Territory The Host Association shall ensure that all players, nominated Team Managers, nominated NPC s, appointed officials (Referee, Deputy Referee and umpires) and the CEO of TTA receives a copy of the Official Program Where any National Championship is to be the subject of a direct television or internet streaming transmission, the scheduling of matches in relation to such transmission shall be referred to the Management Committee by the Host Association. Results 118. The Host Association shall issue detailed results of the National Championships in booklet or electronic format 14 days after the completion of the Championship to each competing affiliated Association, the appointed Referee (and Deputy Referee) and the CEO of TTA free of charge The Host Association shall issue detailed results of the National Championships in booklet or electronic format 14 days after the completion of the Championship to any other person (including a player) at a nominal cost. 12 Chapter 12 AWARDS Merit List 120. At the conclusion of a National Championship the Management Committee (or any sub-committee appointed by the Management Committee for the purposes of determining awards pursuant to this Chapter) shall prepare a Merit List The Merit List is to reflect the order of merit of players in each age group to be judged on the results of play at the National Championship All players are eligible for inclusion in such lists and the results of all singles matches (both in the team event and in the individual event) shall be taken into account A player may only be ranked in a list where the player played in the team event in the respective age category Where 2 or more players are deemed to be of relatively even merit, separation of such players may occur by giving more weight to any result recorded in the individual singles event Wherever possible there shall be 10 players listed in a Merit List and there shall be no equal positions on such list Any Merit List must include a disclaimer stating that the list is not an official ranking list but simply an order of merit based solely on performances during the National Championship The Merit List so prepared shall be announced by the Chair of the Management Committee at any Closing Ceremony (if held), or otherwise at the presentation of medallions in respect of the individual singles events. Outstanding Achievement Award 128. At the conclusion of a National Championship the Management Committee (or any sub-committee appointed by the Management Committee for the purposes of determining awards pursuant to this Chapter) shall determine the recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award The Outstanding Achievement Award is to be awarded in recognition of outstanding achievement judged on the results of play at a National Championship Only winners of an event are eligible for this award no preference is to be given to singles, doubles or team events at a National Championships The winner of the award is to be judged on all results recorded in order to win an event and may include an assessment of both presentation and sportsmanship (the award is to be confined to play in one event only and no preference is to be given to a player who has won multiple events) In determining the award recipient, the views of any person may be sought including any sponsor of the National Championships The award shall be in the form of a cash prize as set out in Appendix The award recipient shall be announced by the Chair of the Management Committee at any Closing Ceremony (if held), or otherwise at the presentation of medallions in respect of the individual singles events. 13 APPENDIX 1 Team Events Team events 1. All team events (Mens, Womens, Under 21 Mens & Under 21 Womens) shall be conducted in accordance with the following rules. 2. A maximum of 18 teams shall be permitted to enter in any particular team event (where there are more than 18 teams, the National Selection Panel shall determine which teams shall enter an event but priority shall be given to all A teams nominated by an affiliated Association). 3. If there are 10 or fewer teams entered then a single round robin shall be played (note where only 3, 4 or 5 teams enter an event they shall play each other twice, with all results being taken into account when determining final positions). 4. If there are more than 10 teams entered, 2 groups each playing a round robin with the teams progressing to a knockout for determination of medals. Round-robin stage 5. In the round robin stage, the format shall be 5 matches with 4 singles and 1 doubles in accordance with the ITTF Laws and Regulations. 6. All individual matches shall be the best of 5 games. 7. All matches shall be played out to determine a result. 8. A substitution of a player is permitted once a match result is reached provided the substituted player is a member of that team [such substitution is to be cleared marked on the match scoresheet]. One round-robin group 9. Where there is only 1 round-robin group (10 teams or less), the top 3 teams at the end of all matches played are declared the respective medallists. Two round-robin groups (knock-out stage) 10. Where there are 2 round-robin groups (17 or 18 teams), the top team in each group shall play a knock-out match to determine the gold and silver medallist and the 2 nd top team in each group shall play a knock-out match to determine the bronze medallist. And likewise, each other team in descending order in a group shall play their respective counterpart team in the other group to determine their final position. 11. Where there are 2 round-robin groups (11 16 teams), the top 2 teams in each group shall play a progressive knockout match to determine the medallists (the top team in a group plays the 2 nd top team in the other group; the winners of these matches shall play a final match to determine the gold and silver medallist and the losers shall play a final match to determine the bronze medallist). And likewise as in rule 10, each other team in descending order in a group shall play their respective counterpart team in the other group to determine their final position. 12. The format for this knock-out stage shall be the same as the round-robin stage except that a match shall stop once a result is achieved. 13. For all team matches events, each team shall be represented by 2 different players in the single matches and any 2 players in the doubles match. 18. The actual team to play will be nominated prior to the specified commencement of each team match (not including nominations for doubles match). 19. Such nomination will be made to the Referee by each team naming the team players and allotting a letter AB or XY to each singles player. The right to be AB or XY will be decided by lot. 20. If any order of play obliges a player to play two or more individual matches in succession, that player shall be entitled to a rest period not exceeding five minutes between such matches. 15 APPENDIX 2 Individual Events Individual events 1. All singles events (Mens, Womens, Under 21 Mens & Under 21 Womens) shall be conducted by a group stage in the first round followed by a knock-out stage. In the group stage a match shall be the best of 5 games and in the knock-out stage a match shall be the best of 7 games. 2. All doubles events (Mens, Womens, Under 21 Mens & Under 21 Womens) shall be conducted by knock-out format. All matches shall be the best of 5 games. 3. Some seeded players may receive a bye in the first round of the singles (qualification round) the number of byes awarded shall be dependent on the number of entries into the event. Format in singles events 4. The first round of singles events shall be played under a group system the format shall be based on groups of 3 players. In a group of 3 players, only 1 player progresses to the knock-out stage. 5. Where groups of 3 players are used then the group stage and the knock-out stage are considered as a single draw. If the number of players is not evenly divisible by three, then either the number one and/or number two seed(s) shall not be required to play the group stage but progress directly to the knock-out stage. However, such player(s) shall be deemed to have received a bye in the group stage, and thus will be required to play in the first round of the knockout stage. 6. Where groups of 3 players are used, then the order of play is 1 v 3, 2 v 3, 1 v 2 (note that the groups shall be identified on the draw by letters A, B, C). 7. Players from any one affiliated Association shall be distributed by lot throughout the groups as evenly as possible. Players nominated by their Association (and ratified by the National Selection Panel) shall also be separated in accordance with the ITTF Laws and Regulations. Note that only if an affiliated Association has more entrants than there are groups would two players from that Association be drawn into the same group. Round robin draws 8. The format to be followed for a round robin draw is as follows: divide players evenly into groups put seeds and nominated players (by National Selection Panel) into groups in order put remaining players into groups in order by a snake system if there are two players from the same affiliated Association, exchange one with a nearby player, starting with lower ranked players. Entries less than 12 in singles event 9. Where there are 12 or more entries in a singles event, the above rules shall be used as the format for the event. 10. However, where there are less than 12 players in a singles event, the following rules shall apply: if there are 10 or 11 entrants, 3 groups of 3 players shall play in the group stage and the top 2 from each group shall progress to the knock-out stage along with the seed(s) excluded from the group stage if there are 9 entrants, 3 groups of 3 players shall play in the group stage and the top 2 from each group shall progress to the knock-out stage if there are 7 or 8 entrants, 2 groups of 3 players shall play in the group stage and the top 2 from each group shall progress to the knock-out stage along with the seed(s) excluded from the group stage if there are 6 entrants, 2 groups of 3 players shall play in the group stage and the top 2 from each group shall progress to the knock-out stage if there are 4 or 5 entrants, 1 group of 3 players shall play in the group stage and the top 2 from the group shall progress to the knock-out stage along with the seed(s) excluded from the group stage if there are 3 entrants, then a single round robin will be played and the winner of the round robin declared the champion.
