6 LOCO Tennis Scial, Fun, Shrt Curt Tennis League Whether yu re a wild card entry int the U.S Open, r yu re just learning what a frehand is, the LOCO League is fr yu. We use shrter curts, lw cmpressin balls, and yu can play n a c-ed team with friends, drinking buddies, c-wrkers, strangers, yur bk club, etc. What: LOCO Tennis is played n a 60 ft curt with range lw cmpressin tennis balls. We welcme ALL skill levels! Wh: Anyne wh is 18 & ver can play in the league Frmat: Men s dubles, wmen s dubles, and 2 lines f mixed. ** LOCO Tennis des NOT affect yur USTA rating. Curts: All curts must be set up prir t match play. Hme team must set up and prvide the apprpriate 60ft curt. Hw t set up? If yu are using hard curts that dn t have 10 and under pre painted lines, yu shuld have applied fr the blended lines grant. In the ff chance that yu missed the bat, fllw these steps: Fr hard curts: use blue painters tape, range duct tape, Hw t place the tape: set up the curt first, THEN start drinking (see diagram belw) Frm the baseline use a measuring tape and measure 9 ft tward the service line r, run that line parallel t riginal base line. Use the singles sidelines as the utside dubles side line.

7 Fr the singles lines, (which serve as part f the service bx): mark yur tape 3 feet in frm the singles line and run yur tape frm baseline t baseline, n bth sides. Instead f a 27 singles line, nw yu have a 21 line. Did everybdy get that? T play yu will need: - N Drama! We dn t want t hear abut Karen s bad utfit at last Saturday s match r Dug s lack f fcus during a tiebreak. Leave that fr nnsense fr regular league play. - A creative team name (Deucebags, Casual Sets, yu catch my drift) - USTA membership (s everyne can see yur awesme results!) week time frame fr matches - 2 curts with shrt curt lines - Regular racquets - we wn t make yu buy a smaller racquet. Hwever if yu break ut the wden racquet, yu might win a prize. - Orange lw cmpressin (lc) balls Hme team prvides: - 60 curt set up by hme team - range balls prvided by hme team - Music! Nt mandatry but encuraged - BYOB everyne knws what this means. Bring yur clers, hang ut n the curt, and be prepared t party during yur match. Frmat and scring: - One curt f men s dubles, ne curt f wmen s dubles, and 2 curts f mixed dubles. (4 matches ttal). - 8 game pr set (n ad) If yu cme t deuce, it is receivers chice. If yu cme t deuce in mixed, play gender t gender. - At 7-7, a 7 pint tiebreak will be played (win by 2!) Playing Rules: - Matches begin at 6:30 pm - 10 minute warm up - All players must start at the baseline befre first return f serve ges ver the net and the receiver has hit the ball. T break that ne dwn, n paching n first return f serve! - Yu may substitute in players at any time during the match. Fr instance, if yu re in the middle f yur match and yur partner just isn t cutting it, kick him/her t the curb. Yu have a match t win.

8 Remember: substitutins can nly be made during changevers. Hi-fives are encuraged during this time. - In the case f inclement weather, it is up t the captains t determine anther place and time t make up the match. Or feel free t play in the rain, sleet, r trnad. We knw there are sme die hard players ut there. AGAIN, the LOCO League des NOT affect yur rating!
