3 JTCC Mission and Overview JTCC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to transforming people s lives through tennis. JTCC offers a comprehensive pathway for all ages and abilities. Our mission is to grow the game of tennis and create a lifetime sport for everyone. Founded in 1999 in College Park, MD by Ken Brody, a lifelong tennis enthusiast 15 acres of Maryland Parks land in Prince George s County Adjacent to the University of Maryland campus in College Park 3

4 Steps to Accomplishing Our Mission Introduce (beginner instruction for children and adults) Over 3,000 children introduced to tennis at JTCC 4,000 children served by Community Outreach to date 1000 adults introduced to sport since 2014 with free and low-cost tennis lessons, 42% continued paying in more advanced programming Develop (refine physical/mental skills through more frequent training) 70 players in top level national tournaments in players have been ranked in top 100 in the USA in their age group Excel (implement technique/strategy in high level competition) Six million dollars in tennis scholarships in the past five years Six players ranked top 10 in the World ITF ranking (Usue Arconada, Trice Capra, Mitchell Frank, Denis Kudla, Phillip Simmonds, Frances Tiafoe) Exceptional players making an impact on Professional Tour 4

5 The Key to Our Success We aim to create Champions for Life and give our studentathletes the tools to excel on and off the tennis court for the rest of their lives. Our program is based on: Tennis 5

6 Academics and Character Development Academics Fully accredited, online college preparatory school Two highly qualified full-time instructors Tutors in language, science, and biology Students receive 25 hours of school and study hall every week 35 hours of field trips and service days each year 100% graduation rate A-/B+ average finishing grade Community Outreach Free tennis at community sites in underserved areas Provides a pathway for participants to earn JTCC scholarships JTCC has coached 4,000 children in greater Washington, D.C. Giving Back Every player in the Champions Program spends a minimum of 30 personal hours each year volunteering in the community Full time players receives one free private lesson every week in return for coaching a younger player 6

7 JTCC Pathway to College Scholarships Step 1 Grassroots Programming JTCC introduces tennis Talent at the community outreach sites and at the annual JTCC free Tennis Festival. JTCC invites talented young players to participate in JTCC programs and awards scholarships to players who require financial support Step II Red, Orange, Green Ball To make the game more accessible and enjoyable to children of all abilities, training begins with junior racquets and low compression balls for ages 5-10 Young players are able to have longer points and more control of the ball. This leads to faster development and more engagement on the court 7

Step III Junior Champions Program Advanced development program for ages 8-12, invitation only Introduces motivated, hard-working, talented young players to high performance training Players learn advanced techniques and aspire to join the Champions program Step IV Champions Program Flagship college preparatory program Ages 12 18, invitation only Year-round after-school and full-time programs Student athletes commit themselves to a rigorous academic and training schedule, playing Division I college tennis is a realistic end goal Usue Arconada #5 in the world Girls 18, won her first professional match at 14 years old. 12 Satellite Programs YMCA JTCC manages tennis instruction at the Bethesda- Chevy Chase and Silver Spring YMCA locations. Junior and adult tennis programs are for players of all ages and abilities. Bolles School, Jacksonville, FL First JTCC satellite. Managed by JTCC s Senior Advisor, Brian Gottfried. A comprehensive grassroots program for juniors and adults and a College Prep curriculum to develop college players. Kings Highway Tennis Club, Darien, CT-JTCC is implementing a high performance junior programming and consulting on a comprehensive junior and adult pathway. 12
