1 7 th Annual Edison HS Bears SPRING TENNIS INVITATIONAL FEBRUARY 9-11, 2017 Events: Varsity/JV Divisions (Two boys/girls singles, two boys/girls doubles, two mixed doubles teams) JV players will begin at 8:30 A.M. at Mc Farlin on Thursday February the 9 th. Varsity will begin at 8:30 A.M. at Mc Farlin on Friday February the 10 th. Finals in both divisions will be Saturday 8:30 A.M. at Fairchild on February the 11 th. You may enter a full Varsity and JV team or partial teams in one or both divisions. Format: Main draw will be two out of three sets, no ad scoring, and a 12 point tiebreaker will be played for the first two sets. The third set will be a Super-tiebreaker. All consolation matches will be an 8-game pro set, no ad scoring, and a 12 point tiebreaker. An alternate scoring system may be used in case of inclement weather. Sites: According to availability of the courts the sites will be Mc Farlin Tennis Center- February the 9 th and 10 th with Fairchild as the backup for overflow. Finals will be at Fairchild Tennis Center February 11 th. Entry Deadline: Friday January 27 th, PLEASE all entries. If need be, then mail entries to the address below. Awards: Individual awards for First and Second places. Consolations winner only 1 st place. Plaques: An overall Varsity and overall JV team plaque will be awarded. 5 Edison Bears Overall Team Title Scoring There will be one overall Varsity and one overall JV plaque issued to the team with the most points. Scoring From Main Draw 1 st Place in every category of the main draw will receive 10 points 2 nd Place in every category of the main draw will receive 8 points 3 rd and 4 th places in every category of the main draw in the semi-finals will receive 6 points 5 th, 6 th, 7 th and 8 th in every category of the main draw of the quarters will receive 4 points **Each player will only be scored once. Player must play to score points. Only teams designated 1 and 2 will be scored.
