1 January 2019 Blackwood Tennis is excited to have been chosen to oversee the racquet sports experience at Somerset at the Plantation. As a premiere provider of tennis management services we bring years of experience, and a committed team to meet your tennis and pickleball needs. We are confident in our ability to exceed your expectations, and we welcome feedback on our performance to insure your on court experience is enjoyable. As of Monday, December 10, 2018 we began the daily maintenance of your tennis courts and scheduled clay to be delivered to begin reconditioning them for the New Year. On Tuesday, January 1, 2019 we begin offering our programming services for tennis and pickleblall which include themed clinics, lessons and special events. Over the next few weeks the schedule for special events along with pricing will be provided, so you can begin signing up for those of interest to you. Our Operations Manager, Jean Crenshaw, is the individual that will be your main contact for s scheduling reservations as she directs our team to make sure we are where we need to be on a daily basis. To make a reservation* us at somerset@blackwoodtennis.com. Tennis lesson rates are $60 for one hour private lesson and $35 for a half hour private lesson. Clinic rates per individual are $20 per clinic. Information about pickleball lesson/clinic rates will be sent out at a later date. We look forward to meeting you all over the weeks to come. Round robins need a minimum of three players. If only one player signs up for a clinic they will receive a half hour private lesson at the clinic price. Clinics are capped at a maximum of six players.

5 January 2019 Did you know? Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America with 2.8 million players. It uses skills from tennis, badminton and ping pong. Somerset at The Plantation has followed the national trend and greatly expanded its population of pickleballers. Therefore, we are implementing a test period using a combination of open play and Reserve My Court scheduled level-based play to provide better court utilization. Starting, Tuesday, January 1, 2019, a new Play Time Schedule will be implemented. This calendar will be available on ReserveMyCourt and posted on the racket sport bulletin outside the tennis courts. These block times will be Monday- Friday from 8 a.m. 12 p.m. Courts will be available for open play for the rest of the day including Saturday and Sunday. We are committed to better the needs of our community!

6 Pickleball Court First Come, First Served Limit one game to 11 (when people are waiting to play) Players waiting to play, line paddles up in sets of 4. Rotation continues as long as people are waiting. ONLY Players, Paddles, and Balls are allowed on courts. Courts use for Somerset Residents and invited Guests only. A Somerset Resident must be on the courts with guests. Smoking or use of tobacco products is prohibited on the tennis/pickleball courts, or surrounding spectator areas. Guest Policy Guests are all individuals who are not residents of Somerset at The Plantation. A maximum of three (3) guests per residential household are allowed on Pickleball Courts. A resident must be on the court with guest at all times.
