Singles, doubles, and mixed doubles matches will be open to all divisions. In addition, there will be a Boys 8 Green Dot and a Girls 8 Green Dot division. Players are limited to one singles and one doubles event. There will also be a fun Mixed Doubles event on the historic grass courts on Friday, August 29th from 12:30-3:30 pm. Surface: Clay (Har- Tru) Ball: Babolat Roland Garros (all court) or Penn Control+ (green dot) Stringing: $20 with your own string Format/Draw Size: Main Draw Singles (32 draw) in each division Boys and Girls 8-12 with First Match Loser Consolation. All matches will be played on full court (clay) with either the yellow ball or green dot. Players are guaranteed at least two singles matches. Scoring: Best two out of three tiebreak sets with a 10- point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set for main draw singles and first match loser consolation. Regular scoring will be used with a 5- minute warm- up. Doubles (16 teams) in each division Boys and Girls 8-12 with Single Elimination. All matches will be played on full court (clay) with the yellow ball. The green dot 8 s division will be combined with the yellow ball 8 s division for doubles. There is no guarantee you will be able to play doubles unless you have a partner. Scoring: Best two out of three tiebreak sets with a 10- point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set. No ad scoring will be used with a 5- minute warm- up. *In case of rain, shortened scoring may be used in singles and doubles. Saturday, August 30 is the rain date. Player Check-in: Players must present a copy of their birth certificate or passport at player check- in to be included in the tournament. Information must be able to be read in English. If a player cannot present a copy of their birth certificate, they will not be allowed to play.

2 Practice Courts: Players will need to sign up for practice courts, which will be in 15- minute increments per player. Please Matthew Cody at if you'd like to reserve a court during the times listed below. There will also be a desk on site where "Little Mo" players will be able to sign up for practice time during the tournament. Coaches must share the court with other players who want to warm- up if necessary. Please refer below for the practice court schedule: Saturday, August 23 Sunday, August 24 5 red clay courts Noon 7:00pm Monday, August 25 Friday, August 29 5 red clay courts 7:00am 9:30am 3 red clay courts Noon 7:00pm Match time: First match times will be available on Click on Tournaments and red Little Mo button and then the Statue of Liberty icon. Only first match times will be posted prior to the tournament. The draws will be posted on Sunday afternoon, August 24 at The West Side Tennis Club and on Trophies: Trophies will be awarded to main draw singles winners, runners- up, and 3rd/4th place in each division a well as consolation winners and runners- up. In doubles, trophies will be given to winners and runners- up only. For the fun mixed doubles grass court grass, medals will be awarded. Sportsmanship awards will also be given to players. Tennis Attire: In keeping with tradition, players must wear "all white" tennis clothes while on court for practice or for matches. Parents and coaches who are on court with players in practice must adhere to the "all white" rule. This includes hats, visors, sweatbands, socks, warm- ups, and outerwear including jackets and sweaters. A 10% colored trim is allowed. Shoes must be at least 50% white. The "all white" clothing rule will be enforced at all times. Night at the Open: On Tuesday, August 26, we invite all of the Little Mo players and parents to join us at the U.S. Open. We will meet at the Maureen Connolly photo at the Walk of Fame at the entrance by the globe at 7:00pm. We will have a group photo and players will be given $10 for dinner. Players will need to buy their own ticket to the U.S. Open in advance if you would like to come. The tickets are approximately $60 each for a grounds pass. You can stay as long as you would like at the Open. Player Gift Exchange: It is a tradition with the "Little Mo" that players exchange a small gift with their first round opponent in singles. If you have a bye, the person with whom you will exchange your gift will be listed on a sheet on the draw boards. The gift should be under $10 (wrapped or in a gift bag) and represent your city, state or country. The gifts are exchanged before the players walk on court for their first match. Players always remember their gift from someone from another city or country. Player Packet: All players will receive the Little Mo t- shirts, bag tag, and backpack along with complimentary items from Babolat. Parents - the tournament program and booklet will also be included.

3 Directions to The West Side Tennis Club: Long Island Railroad from Manhattan: During weekdays, trains from Penn Station to Forest Hills run every half hour and the trip is 15 minutes. The Forest Hills station is located on Burns Street, one block away from The West Side Tennis Club. Driving from Manhattan: Queensboro Bridge Route Take the Queensboro (59th Street) Bridge to Queens. Follow the signs for Queens Blvd and continue on the center lanes of Queens Boulevard to Continental Avenue (71st Avenue). Make a right onto Continental Avenue and proceed three blocks to Dartmouth Street. Make a right onto Dartmouth Street, proceed one block to Tennis Place and make a right. The WSTC Member parking lot is on the left. Midtown Tunnel Route Take the Mid- town tunnel to the Long Island Expressway. Take the Queens Boulevard exit (19). Turn right onto the center lanes of Queens Boulevard and continue to Continental Avenue (71st Avenue). Make a right onto Continental Avenue and proceed three blocks to Dartmouth Street. Make a right onto Dartmouth Street, proceed one block to Tennis Place and make a right. The WSTC Member parking lot is on the left. Driving from Long Island: Take the Northern State Parkway (becomes Grand Central Parkway) to the Queens Boulevard exit. Turn right onto the center lanes of Queens Boulevard and continue to Continental Avenue. Turn left onto Continental Avenue and proceed three blocks to Dartmouth Street. Turn right and proceed one block to Tennis Place and make a right. The WSTC Member parking lot is on the left. Subway: Take the E, F, R, or M trains to 71st Avenue/Continental Avenue station in Forest Hills. Exit on the south side of Queens Boulevard. Walk two blocks south on Continental Avenue to Burns Street. Make a right on Burns Street and walk one block and turn left on Tennis Place. The Club entrance is on the right.

4 Food on Site and Hours: : Tent from 12:00 to 3:00pm, Sunday - Friday. Cash only. Pool Snack Bar: The Pool Snack Bar will be open on Monday Friday from 12-6pm. Credit cards only. Pro Shop: Energy bars, water, and sports drinks can be purchased at the Pro Shop, which will be open Monday - Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm. Credit cards only. Clubhouse Restaurant and Bar: The Club Restaurant will be open 11:30-3:00pm and 6:00-9:00pm from Wednesday, August 27 to Friday, August 29. The Club Bar will be open on Monday and Tuesday from 4:00pm to around 10:00pm. Please be aware that the club has limited seating and its members have first priority. Credit cards only. 5 Schedule of Events The West Side Tennis Club has graciously allowed the "Little Mo" players to play at their historic club and we ask all of our guests to be respectful to the club members and the grounds. Please be sure to not walk or play on the grass courts or leave any trash. Also, no dogs are allowed on the grounds. For information regarding the pool, please refer to the Fact Sheet. We appreciate your cooperation. Parking: Parking is extremely limited at The West Side Tennis Club as the club parking lot is small and needs to be reserved for The West Side members. We recommend taking the train or cab. Players may not be dropped off at the front door and cars must be parked in the Stadium parking lot. The back gate near the Stadium opens at 6:30am daily. To get to the Stadium Parking lot, please follow the perimeter of the club along Burns Street. Make a left on 69th Avenue and the entrance is 100 feet on the left. Use the intercom at the security gate to contact the Reception Desk. If the stadium parking lot is full, parking on the street is ok, but please watch for no parking signs so you aren t towed. Sunday, August 24 12:00-3:00 pm Players will check- in and pick- up player backpack at The West Side Tennis Club at the Rose Garden tent mandatory. All players need to sign in and present a copy of their birth certificate or passport to be included in the tournament. Information must be able to read in English. If a player cannot present a copy of their birth certificate, they will not be allowed to play. Afternoon A "complimentary" 50- minute on- court clinic will take place for all players with Tim Mayotte, former #7 in the world on the ATP Tour, and world renowned coach Chuck Kriese. Players, don t forget your racquets! There will have a 10- minute talk with players and parents at the end of each clinic. 12:30-1:30 pm - Players age 8, 9 & 10 1:45-2:45 pm - Players age 11 & 12 There will be lunch available for all Little Mo parents and players under the Rose Garden Tent from 12:00pm to 3:00pm (Cash Only). 12:30/1:30/2:30 pm Guided tour of The West Side Tennis Club (15 minutes). Meet at the Rose Garden tent. 3:30 pm Players will meet on Grass Court #8 for the group photo. 3:45 pm Following the photo, players will line up for the player parade. They will parade from Court #8 to the famous stadium court for the opening ceremony - mandatory. Players please wear "all white" tennis clothes (small logos are ok). Hats, visors, sweatbands, socks, warm- ups, and outerwear must be all white. A 10% colored trim is allowed. Shoes must be at least 50% white. This rule will be strictly enforced. Please leave your racquet bag with your parent. 4:00 pm Players will parade onto the stadium court with their country flag. Please bring a small country flag to carry during the parade. 4:15-5:00 pm Opening Ceremony - Important tournament information will be given to players and parents - mandatory. National anthem singer: Nathan Fuhrman 5:00-5:30 pm Chuck Kriese will talk with parents about mental toughness, etc. on the stadium court following the opening ceremony (players are welcome).

6 Monday, August 25 Players, please exchange your gift before you walk on court for your first round match. Players with "byes" should look at the draw board to see the player they will exchange gifts with before their first round. Please check- in 15 minutes prior to your match. Tuesday, August 26 6:30 pm Night at the U.S. Open. Players will meet at the Maureen Connolly photo at the Walk of Fame at the entrance by the globe at 7:00pm. We will have a group photo and players will be given $10 for dinner. Players will need to buy their own ticket to the U.S. Open in advance if you would like to come. Wednesday, August 27 Thursday, August 28 All day Mixed Doubles sign up at the tournament desk. Play will be on Friday from 12:30pm -3:30pm. The format will be announced on Friday. Friday, August 29 12:30-3:30 pm A fun mixed doubles event is planned for all Little Mo players on the famous grass courts at The West Side. Players will be paired with different partners and medals will be awarded to the winners. Please check in at the Rose Garden at 12:15pm to play! 7 Things to do in New York: U.S. Open at Flushing Meadow, Broadway shows (Lion King), sightseeing at the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Times Square, Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, New York Yankees or Mets baseball game, etc. We hope you enjoy this unique, one of a kind tournament at the most historic site in American tennis and in one of the most fun cities in the world. Please go online to check out our next Little Mo Internationals tournament at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida from December 5th- 10th. This will be the third and final leg of the 2014 Little Mo Grand Slam. To register, go online to: Click on Tournaments and the red 2014 Little Mo tournament button, then click on the sun icon and the blue register button. This tournament is named after Maureen Little Mo Connolly, who was the first woman to win the Grand Slam when she was only eighteen years old in She is still the youngest and only American woman to have accomplished this magnificent feat. To honor Maureen Connolly's Grand Slam win in 1953, MCB Tennis Foundation created the "Little Mo" Grand Slam. In order to win the "Little Mo" Grand Slam, a player must win their division at each of the three "Little Mo" Internationals - San Diego, CA (July), Forest Hills, NY (August), and Palm Beach Gardens, FL (December). The winner will receive a 6- foot trophy - the tallest trophy ever given in junior tennis. Congratulations to the following players who won their division at the Internationals in San Diego and are therefore eligible to win the Little Mo Grand Slam.
