Regional Representation: Two people per individual event per region. Two teams per doubles and mixed doubles events per region. Format: Round robin play with playoffs for medals as needed, determined by the number of competitors. Rules and Regulations: 1. Rules to be governed by the International Badminton Federation. 2. All participants must be present at least 30 minutes prior to the event starting time indicated on the schedule. The schedule will be made on site the day of the event to avoid cancellations and no shows. 3. Every athlete must be able to produce appropriate identification at all times. 4. If age categories are cancelled, competitors will be moved to the Open age category. 5. The Open category can be any gender and/or any age regardless of registration in any other badminton category, but subject to registration guidelines. 6. Green Band nylon shuttles will be used in all events. 7. Players must supply their own rackets, shoes and appropriate clothing. 8. All events will be round robin format (depending on the number of participants). order as previously in that set, until the winners of the game and set have been decided.

Round robin play will be best of three games to twenty one (21) points. **Note: Any event with more than 7 competitors will be pooled.** SCORING SYSTEM Rally point scoring system to be used for all matches, singles and doubles. 1. A match shall consist of the best of three games, unless otherwise arranged. 2. A game shall be won by the side which first scores 21 points 3. Every time there is a serve there is a point scored. 4. The side winning a rally shall add a point to its score. A side shall win a rally, if the opposing side commits a fault or the shuttle ceases to be in play because it touches the surface of the court inside the opponent s court. 5. If the score becomes 20-all, the side which gains a two point lead first, shall win that game. 6. If the score becomes 29-all, the side scoring the 30 th point shall win that game. 7. The side winning a game shall serve first in the next game. SINGLES 1. At the beginning of the game (0-0) and when the server s score is even, the server serves from the right service court. When the server s score is odd, the server serves from the left service court. 2. If the server wins a rally, the server scores a point and then serves again from the alternate service court. 3. If the receiver wins a rally, the receiver scores a point and becomes the new server. They serve from the appropriate service court left if their score is odd, and right if it is even. DOUBLES 1. A side has only one service. 2. At the beginning of the game and when the score is even, the server serves from the right service court. When it is odd, the server serves from the left court. 3. If the serving side wins a rally, the serving side scores a point and the same server serves again from the alternate service court. 4. If the receiving side wins a rally, the receiving side scores a point. The receiving side becomes the new serving side. 5. The players do not change their respective service courts until they win a point when their side is serving. 6. If players commit an error in the service court, the error is corrected when the mistake is discovered. TIE-BREAKING PROCEDURE 1. If 2 players are tied, results of the head to head match will determine who advances. 2. If 3 players are tied, ties will be broken using games for and against, followed by points for and against if necessary If still tied draw name to receive bye, other two teams play single game with winner to play the bye team to determine placing.

3 3. Play-off round will be best 2 out of 3 games to vs. 4, 2 vs. 3, followed by bronze match and gold medal match. In pooled events, the top two players/teams will cross over. Registration Deadline: Registration Deadline as designated by your Regional Director All registrations are done through your Regional Director, who will determine the Regional Deadline. The registration fee must also be submitted to your Regional Director. Signed consent forms must accompany the waivers. No late registrations will be accepted. No late registrations will be accepted. Events will be cancelled if there are one or less individuals or teams registered. Should any event be cancelled due to lack of registrations, the athletes being affected by the cancellation will be given an opportunity to re-register in another suitable category provided that event is scheduled to run.

4 Family Relay: (4x100) Open - Must be at least 3 members of immediate family (any age and gender) Rules and Regulations: 1. International Association of Athletics Federations Rules apply unless otherwise stated. 2. All participants must be registered by their Regional Director prior to the registration deadline. Athletes will not be allowed to register on site. 3. Athletes are required to participate in the events they originally registered with. No athletes will be allowed to change their events the days of competition. 4. Participants in all races should report to the start line 20 minutes prior to their event starting time indicated on the schedule. Any competitor not on time for their race will be automatically scratched. 5. Heats (where numbers warrant) will be held in 50m, 100m, 200m and hurdles. If 8 or fewer athletes are registered in an event, the event will be run at the time allocated for its final. All other races will be timed finals. 6. Participants in all field events should report to their event site 20 minutes prior to their event. Any competitor not on time for their event will enter the competition as per rules of that event. 7. If you have a track event and a field event at the same time, report to your field event and tell the Head Official that you also have a track event. When you return to the field event, you will continue in that event in the round that is currently in progress (competition order can change). If the event is completed by the time you return, you will not be allowed to compete. 8. Competitors are allowed a maximum of any 5 individual events plus 1 relay plus the family relay. For the purpose of scoring points for your region, Athletics is considered a double sport. The men and women s results will contribute separately to your regions aggregate point total. 9. Only the region name must be on the registration form for relays. On the day of the event, names of relay runners will be submitted by 12:00 noon. 10. No event will start earlier than the posted time unless all competitors are present and agree to start early. 11. Where the number of entries in a track event suffices, heats will be timed with the 8 fastest runners from all heats combined advancing to the finals competing for first to eighth place. The runners with the next fastest times will advance to the consolation final competing for ninth to sixteenth place. 12. All athletes must wear proper footwear while competing.
