3 Junior Programs Forest City Tennis Center (FCTC), formerly known as the Clock Tower Racquet Club, has been in the business of developing junior players in Northern Illinois for over 30 years. Some of the most notable players are Eva Marcial (Texas A&M player), Kevin Park (Yale University player), Scott Shepardson (4th place IHSA doubles, University of Illinois-Chicago) and Branden and Tytus Metzler (top 12 finishers IHSA singles). Our strong commitment to junior tennis is also evident in the fact that we have over 400 juniors involved in our programs. We currently have several NCAA College players, 45 District, 20 Sectional and 5 Nationally ranked players. Just as important are the many students we have involved at the park district and high school level. EVALUATION: Evaluations are required for all new students. Please allow minutes for your evaluation and free consultation. Evaluations are scheduled by contacting Danny Beeman at DannyB@forestcitytennis. com or There are many ways to play more at the Forest City Tennis Center Family Discount: A 10% discount is given for each family with a total group registration of $ or greater per session. All junior classes must be pre-paid. Junior Membership: An $85 annual junior membership is required for all players enrolled in our top level competitive programs (Tennis Advancement Program and High-Performance). Junior members who are currently enrolled in a class may reserve courts at FCTC for free as long as the reservation is made within two hours of the court time. Junior members not enrolled in a class pay the student court rate with reservation within 2 hours. Multi-Day Discount: We offer a compounding 10% discount for additional days of the week in which a student is enrolled in a given session (10% off second class per week, 20% off third class, etc.). Registration for all classes must be done using either the enclosed forms or the FCTC website ( One make-up per session is available, and must be completed prior to the end of each session. 6 Additional Junior Programs TT/TAP MATCH PLAY Open to competitive juniors in the TT and TAP programs who want to prepare and practice matchplay for USTA tournament matches. MODIFIED BALL MATCH PLAY Open to kids using red, orange, and green tennis balls looking to gain experience playing out points and matches in preparation for participation in USTA red/orange/green tournaments. These fun, low pressure events feature round robin play, assistants on court to help with scoring and to give advice, and a compact time format. USTA Red/Orange/Green tournaments feature 8 and under, 10 and under, and 12 and under age divisions and are the entry point for young players into the tournament scene. 8 Additional Club Programs Tennis Staff PRIVATE LESSONS For those in search of more individual attention and schedule flexibility, private lessons are perfect for rapid improvement. Our instructors can work on every aspect of your game, whether you are a beginner or high-level tournament player. Private lessons can be one-on-one with the instructor, or a semi-private with you and a friend. Private lessons are available to adult FCTC members and junior members who are enrolled in the FCTC junior program. Non-members will pay an additional $8 guest fee. Semi-private rate is $5 more than normal private lesson rate. For juniors, private lessons are limited to 2 people. For adults, private lessons are limited to 4 people.
