Jana Brusek led both sides with 27 digs. The Bears held FAMU to a.061 attack percentage in the match, including in the third set. Highlights in 3-0 win over Little Rock (Sep. 9) Katie Staiger hit a jaw-dropping 22 kills and.452 attacking percentage on 42 swings with just three errors, adding two service aces to round out one of the strongest matches of her season. The Bears led in service aces (9-4), assists (40-28), kills (42-31), attack pct. ( ), and digs (48-37). A.387 hitting mark in the first set was the highest of the match for either side, with BU posting 16 kills on 31 attacks with just four errors. Highlights in 3-2 loss to No. 13 Florida State (Sep. 8) Katie Staiger notched her fourth double-double of the season and second-straight, leading with a match-high and career-high-tying 28 kills and 11 digs. McGuyre has coached at the collegiate level for both men and women since 1999 including head-coaching stints at California Baptist and Biola University, both of which are faith-based institutions. McGuyre and the Seminoles finished an NCAA Tournament run reaching the quarterfinals before a loss to national runner up BYU, Dec. 13. The Seminoles finished 30-3 in 2014, and in his first season at FSU in 2013, the Seminoles posted a 26-8 record and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16. Prior to his arrival at Florida State, McGuyre was an assistant at Maryland for one season following a 10-year-head-coaching stint at NAIA CBU from There, he was the head coach for both the men s and women s programs where he crafted a men s program that won six NAIA national championships and three women s national titles. Among many accolades at CBU, McGuyre was named both the AVCA NAIA Men s National Coach of the Year and the NAIA Women s National Coach of the Year during his tenure. He also served as a volunteer assistant for the USA men s volleyball team in His men s team at CBU knocked off NCAA Division I programs USC, UCLA, Stanford, Pepperdine, Long Beach State, UC-Santa Barbara, Penn State, UC Irvine and Hawaii. Before his successful stop at CBU, he spent three years as head coach at Biola University from in Los Angeles where he tallied 60 wins in three seasons for the women s program. All in all, between men s and women s programs, McGuyre has 542 wins as a collegiate head coach, he s coached 18 NAIA All-Americans and saw five Seminoles earn AVCA All-American honors the past two seasons at Florida State. A 1998 graduate of Biola University, McGuyre earned his Bachelors of Arts degree in social science with an emphasis in secondary education and a minor in biblical studies.
