1 Spring Sports Boys Volleyball : Crean Lutheran moved to 4-0 in Academy League play! 8-3 overall. CLHS defeated Sage Hill High School in 4 games. Crean Lutheran- 25, 22, 25, 25. Sage Hill- 20, 25, 20, : Boys JV and Varsity teams won their 2014 Academy League opener on Tuesday night in the Saints Event Center. After losing the 1st game, the JV team fired up and came back to win in three games. The varsity team fought hard and pulled tougher in the end to defeat a scrappy Oxford Academy team in four games. Good job Saints! Boys Golf 5/19/14- In the CIf Golf Tournament, Crean ended up 9th place overall. Good Job Saints! 9. Crean Lutheran 399. Girls & Boys Swimming 5/13/14- Kiley Carlson started the Girls off well on the way to defend their CIF Championship. Kiley again finished 7th place in CIF Diving in a very competitive field. Freshman Colten Young not only became the 1st Boy Champion, but also broke the CIF Record in the diving competition. 4/8/14- Lindsey Engel is named OC Register Athlete of the Week. She set two meet records at the Foothill Swim games. Both her times were County-Leading times. Crean Lutheran is now lucky #7 in the OC Top : Congratulations to the Girls Swimming Team for placing 2nd in their swim meet this weekend. There were many new records that were made and some outstanding performances. The Saints received a Gold and a New Record in the 4x100 IM Relay 3:55.11, and 4x50 Fly Relay 1: The girls also placed Silver in the 200 Medley Relay 1: Way to go Saints! Boys Tennis 5/20/14- The Crean Lutheran Tennis team continues to move through the CIF D2 Tennis Championship Tournament. In its first Quarterfinal appearance, the team battled Rowland on the road to a 9-9 tie on sets winning on total games The Saints move into the Semifinals tomorrow with an overall season record of Niko Ramadan swept through all three opponents and Karthik Nair made an amazing comeback from down 0-4 to win 7-5 and seal the victory.

2 5/16/14- The Crean Lutheran Saints won their match with Polytechnic HS of Pasadena 12-6 today at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center. Niko Ramadan and Justin Zhang swept their singles matches. The Saints are now 14-0 and are moving into the Quarterfinals for D2 for the first time! 5/14/14- The Boys' Tennis Team advanced to the second round in the D2 CIF Championship Tournament today with a win over Fullerton All three doubles teams, Bret/Even Kittelsen, Blake Smith/Luke Barnard, and Brooks O'Hea/Niko Duenas, swept their matches. Niko Ramadan swept his singles matches. The Saints extended their season record to /2/14- The Crean Lutheran Saints Tennis Team defeated Oxford Academy 14-4 to compete their first undefeated season (12-0) and perfect record in the Academy League (8-0). Karthik Nair swept in singles without losing a game. Luke Barnard also swept in singles. Doubles teams of Bret and Even Kittelsen and Blake Smith/Brooks O'Hea also swept all their matches. 4/18/14- Crean Lutheran won their match at St. Margaret's today Doubles team of Bret/Even Kittelsen (twins) and Blake Smith/Niko Ramadan swept their matches. The Saints remain undefeated at 10-0 with a 6-0 Academy League record. Crean Lutheran clinched a share of first place with the win today. This is the first tennis championship for Crean Lutheran. 4/15/14- The Crean Lutheran Varsity Tennis Team won their match today with Sage Hill Justin Zhang and Karthik Nair swept three sets each in singles. Teams of Blake Smith/Niko Ramadan and Bret/Even Kittelsen swept in doubles. The Saints are now 9-0 and 5-0 in the Academy League. 4/8/14- The Crean Lutheran Boys' Tennis Team beat Oxford Academy today The Saints are now 7-0 and in first place in the Academy League. 4/3/14- The Crean Lutheran Saints won their match at Sage Hill today Singles players Niko Ramadan and Justin Zhang swept their matches, and the doubles twins Bret and Even Kittelsen swept their matches. The Saints season record goes to 6-0 with a 2-0 record in the Academy League. The Saints are now alone in first place in the league. 3-28/29-14: The Boy's JV Tennis Team won their match against Sage Hill on games breaking a 9-9 tie. The Varsity Tennis Team came in 2nd place in the Lightning Invitational Tournament with wins over Sage Hil, Tesoro, and a 4-5 loss to Newport Harbor. Justin Zhang was undefeated and Tournament Singles MPV, and Bret Kittelsen, Even Kittelsen, and Niko Duenas made the All-Tournament Team : The Crean Lutheran Boys Tennis Team won their match with Newport Harbor today Justin Zhang swept three singles matches. The Saints extended their record to : The Crean Lutheran Boy's Tennis Team won their match with Tesoro, The Saints are now 2-0. #1 singles player Niko Ramadan, swept three sets (Fabre 6-0, Park 6-2,

3 and Turner 6-0). Also, the #1 doubles team, Bret and Even Kittelsen, swept three sets. Good job Saints! Winter Sports Girls Soccer : Congratulations to some of our girl soccer players who were chosen for the Lutheran School Soccer All American Team. 1st Team All-American: Maddie Beavers. 2nd Team All-American: Krissy Gratz & Jenna Fink. Honorable Mention: Hannah Barney & Brooke Rigoni. Crean Lutheran was also awarded the Silver Team Ethics & Sportsmanship award. Way to go Saints! : Congratulations Girls Soccer for winning the 2014 Academy League Title. Go Saints! : Congratulations to the girls soccer team for beating Oxford Academy 4-0. Emily Drukrey, Kate Haughton, Hannah Barney, and Joy Orr all scored a goal to help the Saints came out on top. This is Crean's 8th straight and 9th total shutout. CL is now unbeaten in eight games. Good job Saints! : The girls soccer team defeated Montclair in a shootout, 4-1, to win the Ontario Christian Christmas Classic. It was the the teams first ever tournament championship. The Saints were locked in a scoreless tie with Montclair after two overtimes. Jenna Fink, Maddy Beavers, Hannah Barney, an Brooke Rigoni each scored goals in the shootout. Goalkeeper Kaycee Morgan had seven saves. Good job Saints! Girls Basketball 12-14/15-13: The Girls basketball team took 3 rd in a very competitive tournament in Arizona over the weekend. Their only losses were to the two teams that took 1 st and 2 nd in the tournament. Way to go Saints! Fall Sports Boys & Girls Cross Country : Congratulations to the Girls andf Boys varsity teams for their hard fought battle at League Meet #1. The lady Saints, who placed third, were led by senior Monreau Gorsch who placed 9th overall in a time of 22:26. The boys team placed 2nd and were led by junior Sean Pino who placed 2nd overall in a time of 15:48. The boys varsity team finished with their top 4 runners in the top 10.

4 : Congratulations to the Girls Varsity team who won their 2nd League Title in as many years. The lady Saints were led by standout junior Lauren Maurer, who was the individual league champion and completed the 3 miles course in a time of 18:38. Lauren was followed by sophomore Mandy Reyes (19:03), who placed 2nd overall, and sophomore Shannon Howell (19:53), who placed 3rd overall. Senior Maddie Beavers (20:57) placed 4th for the team and sophomore Ariana Sciarra (21:14) placed 5th for the team to round out the scoring. Senior Monreau Gorsch (21:33) and junior Amanda Hammarstrom (22:13) completed the lady Saints varsity team. The Varsity Boys Team continued the program's success by claiming their first Team Title in school history. The Saints were led by standout junior Sean Pino who completed the 3 mile course in 15:46 and placed 2nd overall, followed by senior Kaleb Reyes (16:07), junior Austin Imsande (16:27), senior Nick Prendergast (16:28), and junior John Whitney (16:29) to round out the scoring. The Saints have their top 5 scorers in the top 8 places overall. Senior Brian Medina (17:03) and junior Tyler Arnold (17:10) completed the Saints varsity team. The CL XC teams will compete at CIF SS Prelims on November 16th, 2013 Girls Golf : Girls Golf team had their first victory and the first for the school! Crean-285, Valley Christian-316, Medalist- Torri Ascuito-52. Girls Volleyball : Crean Lutheran Girls Volleyball Team defeated Santa Ynez HS in 3 straight sets on Saturday night and advance to the CIF Semi Finals. The scores were 25-18, 25-19, Kayla Scheevel had 20 kills, Katie Kyckelhahn 16 digs, Abby Allen 6 kills, and Cassie Roberts had 34 assists : Congratulations to the Girls Volleyball team for being League Champions! The girls played a challenging game against Sage High School. The Saints came out on top and beat Sage 25-22, 23-25, 25-21, 23-25, and Way to go Saints! : Girls Volleyball for the first time in school history beat St. Margaret's! The Saints beat them in three straight sets. Scores: 25-14, 25-16, and Girls Tennis : Lorna Morris and Christie Kittelsen advanced to the Academy League singles championship via tiebreakers in the semifinals. Both of their singles matches went into third set super tie breakers. Kittelsen beat the No. 1 seed of Sage High School 6-3, 2-6, Morris came from behind and beat St. Margaret's Emma Butler 4-6, 6-3, Morris won the first set against Kittelsen and was leading the second set 4-1 before Kittelsen defaulted due to muscle cramps. Congrats to Lorna Morris and Christie Kittelsen for taking 1st and 2nd in League! Go Saints!

5 : The girls played an awesome match against SVCS! Number 1 and 2 singles swept all three matches as well as the number 1 doubles team. The Saints won 13-5! : The Saints played a hard match and battled with Costa Mesa High School. It came down to the end and the Saints were able to pull off a win. Saints won 10-8! : Congratulations to Lorna Morris for winning the Compass Tournament this last weekend. Lorna had an amazing weekend of matches! She won five rounds and ended her last match winning the championship.
