3 FIVB WORLD TOUR FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour (FIVB WT) is a circuit of professional international beach volleyball events for both men and women. This property is held seasonally and falls across 2 years. FIVB WT is crowned by the FIVB World Tour Finals defining the FIVB World Championships. All FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour events benefit from the FIVB s endorsement and pave the road to Tokyo 2020 in the Olympic Qualification period (two years before the Olympic Games from September 2018 until June 2020). FIVB WORLD TOUR STAR STRUCTURE The new World Tour 5-star structure will be in place for the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour from 2017 and beyond. All events on the tour are assigned a star rating between one and five, where 5 and 4 stars are the highest level elite events while 3, 2 and 1 star events are there to develop the sport in as many regions as possible. The 5-star structure makes the hierarchy of the events within the World Tour clearer to fans, sponsors, organisers and media. Each event has to fulfil specific criteria set by the FIVB in order to ensure consistency across the World Tour. The criteria include: the level and quality of facilities, technology and infrastructure, the type of competition format, prize money, world ranking points, and requirements for TV production and broadcasting as well as streaming. YOUR EVENT IN THE CALENDAR The dates of the 5-star and 4-star events are exclusive, meaning that these events cannot clash against other 5 and 4-star events. Nevertheless, they can clash with other 1-star, 2-star and 3-star events. 1-star, 2-star and 3-star events can clash between them. All events are restricted to be hosted on the same date in the same country.
