The Mavericks play Milwaukee, at Bradley and Eastern Illinois from Sept in Peoria, Ill. Live stats will be available for all matches, while the match at Bradley will be live on ESPN+. Opening Serve Omaha went 12 last weekend in Manhattan, Kan., at the KState Invitational (Sept. 78). UNO defeated North Texas in four sets and dropped a pair of threeset matches to Oregon State and Kansas State. All three teams the Mavericks play have faced Summit League Competition this season. The Mavericks are 30 at home, 13 in neutral matches and 02 on the road. Omaha ranks second in The Summit League in kills per set (13.71) and assists per set (13.06). Believe in Bella Isabella Sade garnered her third straight AllTournament honor this season at the KState Invitational. The middle blocker also saw her fivematch streak of doubledigit kills snapped on the final day of the tournament against KState. Sade averages a teambest 2.81 kills per set and 0.94 blocks per set. She also ranks second in The Summit League in hitting percentage (.366). Through her twoyear career, she has four AllTournament honors. In Case You Didn't Know Freshman setter Sydney Case has emerged as a force for the Mavericks throughout the last month. With assists per set, she currently leads The Summit League and ranks 15th in the nation. The Lakeville, Minn., native won Summit League Offensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 4 after she helped the Mavericks to a 30 home tournament record. Case became the first Maverick since Kimberly Bailey in 2015 to win a Player of the Week award. In the Omaha Challenge, Case posted an average of 13.7 assists and totaled 151 for the three matches to earn alltournament honors. She now has three matches this season of 50 or more assists. In the home opener, the freshman posted a 50assist performance to go with eight digs in the 31 win over UMKC, and followed up with a careerhigh 57 assists and 10 digs for her first doubledouble of her career in the 31 win over UIC. She also had three aces and two blocks in the match. In the 30 win over UTEP, Case had 44 assists with six digs and guided the team to a.266 hitting percentage over the past weekend. As a team, the Mavericks rank 40th nationally with 13.1 assists per set. Scouting the Milwaukee Panthers The Panthers are led by Susie Johnson who is in her 12th season at the helm of the program. Milwaukee is still aiming for its first win of the season with an 010 record. The Panthers have seen several matches go five sets this year, but have come up on the wrong side of the win column.

So far, the Panthers have played one Summit League opponent this season. On Friday, Aug. 24, the team fell 30 to South Dakota in its home tournament, the Panther Invitational. This will be the firstever meeting between the two programs. Scouting the Bradley Braves Bradley posts a 72 record so far this season. The team is led by head coach Carol PriceTook, who is in her third season with the program. Like Omaha, Bradley is perfect at home this season with a 30 record. The CEFCU Classic marks the second regular season nonconference home tournament for the Braves this season. In the CEFCU Invitational (Aug. 31Sept. 1), Bradley went 30 with wins against Western Illinois (31), Toledo (30) and George Washington (31). The Braves have a trio of players who average two kills per set or better. Erica Haslag has a teambest 3.65 per set, followed by Hannah Thompson with 3.09 kills per set. Sarah Shaw rounds out the offensive attack with 2.00 kills per set. Hannah Angeli leads the team with 9.03 assists per set, while Yavianliz Rosado posts a teamhigh 5.09 digs per set defensively. The duo of Alissa Schovanec and Kathryn Graf average 0.88 and 0.87 blocks per set. Bradley and Omaha square off for the seventh time, with the Braves holding a 42 advantage. The last time both programs squared off was on Sept. 9, 2016, where the Braves won 31 in a neutral match at the UMKC Invitational. The Mavericks fell 2511, 2624 and 2522 in the match. Isabella Sade paced the Mavericks with eight kills and four blocks en route to KState Invitational AllTournament Honors. The sophomore from Marion, Iowa, tallied 3.30 kills per set on.375 hitting with 1.10 blocks per set over the course of the weekend. In the match, Claire Leonard recorded a teamhigh nine kills and three digs, while Sadie Limback followed with seven kills and five digs. Sydney Case recorded a matchhigh 33 assists, six digs and two blocks in the contest. Kansas State edged Omaha in the following categories: kills (3935), digs (5549), blocks (95) and aces (64). The Mavericks won the assist battle 3533 in the match. Omaha hit.133 as a team compared to the Wildcats'.219. What Makes Up the Mavericks Omaha's 2018 roster consists of six returners and 11 newcomers. The Mavericks return 67.9 percent of its total attacking offense, as the six returners accounted for 906 of the team's 1,334 kills from The team also returns 69.3 percent of its total blocking from the previous season, as the returners accounted for 274 of the 2017 roster's 395 total kills. The roster consists of two seniors, two juniors, seven sophomores and eight freshmen. Omaha's roster includes studentathletes from seven different states: Nebraska, (6), Minnesota (3), Iowa (3), Illinois (2), Missouri (1), Utah (1) and Colorado (1). Omaha returns senior Mackenzie Horkey who is the returning leader in matches played, sets played, total attacks, kills, digs, aces, assisted blocks and doubledoubles. Isabella Sade (1.04 b/s, 2.33 k/s) enters her sophomore season after a freshman campaign earning Summit League Freshman of the Year, AllSummit League Honorable Mention and AllFreshman team honors in the conference. Senior Abby Bergsten (2.90 k/s, 1.09 d/s) also earned AllSummit League Honorable Mention honors. The sophomore duo of Anna Blaschko (1.97 k/s, 1.03 b/s) and Claire Mountjoy (4.67 d/s) are both coming off Summit League AllFreshman team awards. Below is a look at how UNO has stacked up as a team in each of its Division I seasons since : Record Hitting Percentage Per Set Per Set Per Set Per Set Per Set New Kids on the Block The Mavericks' roster features a wide array of newcomers for the 2018 season that includes three transfers and eight freshmen. Jaclyn Taylor, Courtney Morehead and Claire Leonard join Omaha as transfer studentathletes from Creighton, Drake and Canisius College. Taylor was a threeyear letterwinner at St. Charles North High School, where she was a secondteam allstate honoree as a senior. She also earned allconference honors while averaging 8.5 assists per set as a senior, a season in which her team went 344. Her squad also won three straight Upstate 8 Conference titles and two regional championships. Morehead, a rising junior, played in 27 matches as a sophomore at Drake, ranking sixth in the MVC and first on her team for aces per set. For the season, she averaged 2.93 digs and 0.24 aces per set and had a standout 26dig

Leonard, a sixfoot outside hitter, is a native of Bettendorf, Iowa. As a freshman at Canisius, she led her team with 3.08 kills per set and was named to the 2017 AllMAAC Rookie Team. Leonard was a threetime MAAC Rookie of the Week and ranked fifth in the conference for kills per set and total kills (308), as well as fourth for points per set. She had 15 doublefigure kill performances last season, including a careerhigh 22 kills vs. Iona. The team also includes a freshman class of eight with outside hitters Alexa Blase (Grand Island, Neb.), Maggie Meyer (Chicago, Ill.), Baylee Mittelstaedt (Farmington, Utah), defensive specialists Giselle Eiche (Arvada, Colo.) and Kenzie Michalek (Papillion, Neb.), right side hitter Sadie Limback (Waverly, Mo.), setter Sydney Case (Lakeville, Minn.) and middle blocker Rylee Marshall (Fort Calhoun, Neb.). Mavericks Tabbed Third In Summit League Preseason Poll The Omaha volleyball program was selected third in The Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league office announced Thursday, Aug. 16. The thirdplace selection marks the highest preseason Summit League ranking in program history for the Mavericks, as the sophomore trio of Isabella Sade, Claire Mountjoy and Anna Blaschko were also selected as Preseason Players to Watch. Last season, Sade became the first player in program history to earn Summit League Freshman of the Year honors, to go with her Summit League AllFreshman Team and AllSummit Honorable Mention awards. She also ranked second in the league with 1.04 blocks per set and started 27 of 28 matches in Mountjoy was named to The Summit League AllFreshman Team last season. With 458 total digs and 4.67 digs per set, she ranked third among league players in both categories. She also tallied eight matches of 20 or more digs and two with 30 or more in Blascko also garnered AllFreshman honors after she led The Summit League with 17 solo blocks on the season and ranked second in the league with 59 total blocks. At middle blocker, she averaged 1.97 kills and 1.03 blocks per set. Inside the 2018 Schedule Omaha's 2018 campaign features a nonleague slate with teams from nine different conferences across 10 different states that include: American, Big 12, Conference USA, Horizon League, OVC, Pac 12, Southland, Missouri Valley and WAC. The Mavericks play a total of 28 different matches that includes a 12match nonleague slate. Omaha plays five opponents for the first time in series history in Houston, Oregon State, North Texas, Milwaukee and Eastern Illinois. Overall, the Mavericks have a combined overall record against opponents on the 2018 slate. Within league play, Omaha has a overall record that spans prior to the nondivision I era. Shires Guides Mavericks as Winningest Coach in School History Head coach Rose Shires is the alltime winningest coach in 48 years of UNO volleyball history. In her 29th year at the helm of the Maverick program, Shires owns a career record of (.562), with the most wins of the five coaches who have served at Omaha. The 1996 AVCA National Coach of the Year and a twotime conference coach of the year, Shires has enjoyed tremendous success as UNO s guide. The 1996 campaign saw her lead UNO to a national championship as well as its first North Central Conference championship since 1987, followed by an Elite Eight appearance in In NCAA Tournament play, Shires squads have combined for 11 appearances and a 1010 postseason mark. Shires is assisted by assistant coach Elena Pietro, who is in her fourth season, assistant coach Micah Rhodes, in his second year, volunteer assistant coach Gina Mancuso, who is in her second year and Makayla Westphal, who is in her first year with the Maverick staff. No Longer the Newcomers In , Omaha is in its fourth year with full Summit League and NCAA Division I postseason eligibility. The Mavericks competed as a reclassifying Division I school from , and they officially joined the Summit League in During the reclassification period, UNO was ineligible for the league tournament and NCAA postseason play, but played a full regularseason conference schedule in its final three transitional years before assuming full eligibility in Up Next Omaha opens Summit League competition with two straight on the road. The Mavericks are at South Dakota State for a Friday, Sept. 21, matchup at 7 p.m., follow at North Dakota State Sunday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m. The next home match is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 28 against Western Illinois.
