The Tigers have won 15-of-17 since starting the season 2-4. Memphis is coming off a 3-1 win against Cincinnati on Wednesday. Memphis Head Coach April Jauregui ( ), who is in her seventh-year at the helm of the volleyball program, eclipsed the 100-win plateau in Memphis history on Oct. 5 in the teams three-set sweep of SMU. On The Net Live stats can be found for the match this week. Memphis vs. ECU Road Warriors The Tigers look to improve on its 7-1 road record this season. Memphis has traveled well all season, dropping only ten sets in eight road matches. The Blue and Gray are hitting.020 points higher in road matches than at home (.211-vs.-.190) and are holding opponents to a.148 average in the opponents gym. Quick Starts The Tigers are off to their best start in the past eight years at The 2006 team started 19-4 over the first 23 games of the season. Memphis has already surpassed its win total from a season ago with 12 matches remaining on the schedule. Marquee Wins On Schedule With the 3-0 sweep of Northwestern State on Sept. 13, Memphis posted its 850th all-time win in school history. Head Coach April Jauregui became the third head coach in school history to surpass the 100-win mark in her seventh-season.

Memphis currently ranks 10th in the country in digs-per-set, averaging through the first 22 matches of the season and is at the top of the American Conference with 1,203 total digs over 70 sets. Senior Aleksandra Petronijevic broke the school s all-time dig mark in the teams five-set victory over Mississippi State. The Serbian covered the court with ease, recording an astounding 35 digs in the match. The libero now has 2,111 digs in her career and ranks sixth in the NCAA and at the top of the American Conference individually with 5.51 digs/set. The senior topped her earlier performance in the five-set come-from-behind victory over Tulsa on Oct. 3, recording 37 digs, one away from a career-high. This past weekend, Petronijevic racked up 49 digs, including 33 against UCF to earn the conference s Defensive Player of the Week honors. The libero has eight-matches this season of at least 25 digs, including four contests with 30 or more digs. Single Season Digs Player Digs Season 1. CLASS KILLS Pct. Freshmen % Sophomores % Juniors % Seniors % Freshmen Kate Gibson and Oluchi Agomuo combine for 460 of the freshman class 461 kills. Gibson leads the team while Agomuo is third. The tandem also ranks first and third in the American Athletic conference in total kills by freshmen and second and third in kills/game. 6 Shoni Hodges Catlin Lilly Rosie Glenn Monique Swaby April Harriman KATE GIBSON Lauren Wright Upperclassmen tops in american Senior Lauren Wright, the Tigers lone member on the preseason All-Conference team, picked up her 1,000th career point on Aug. 30 against Alabama and her 1,000th career kill in the second set against USF on Oct. 19. The Texas native needs six kills to move into 20th-place in the all-time record book in kills. Wright currently ranks seventh in the American Athletic Conference in hitting-percentage at.351. Earlier this season at the Lady Vol Classic, Wright logged 19 kills against Austin Peay, the second-highest mark in her illustrious career. With 116 assists at the Marcia E. Hamilton Classic in St. Louis, junior setter Veronica Zimmerman was named to the All-Tournament team after three-straight double-double performances. The Toledo, Ohio, native moved into eighth-place in the all-time record book against Ole Miss and surpassed 2,000 assists against UT Martin. Zimmerman is third in the American in assists/set in both league play and overall. The junior has four matches this season of better than 50 dimes. Zimmerman ranks 11th in the NCAA with 922 assists. Zimmerman moved into fourth place all-time against Cincinnati with her 30 assist effort in the win over the Bearcats. ALL TIME ASSISTS No. Player Assists Years 1. Nikki Taylor Jessica Baley Amie Hamilton Junior Alexis Wesley leads the team with 106 blocks and is averaging better than a stuff-per-game to rank third in the conference. Overall, Wesley sits at 23rd in the country in total blocks. The middle blocker has logged 17 solo blocks and 89 block assists through the first 22 matches. Wesley is third in the league in total blocks/game during conference play. The junior also ranks tenth in league play in hitting percentage at.325. Kate Gibson leads the team with 239 kills and points. Gibson was named to the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll after her performance in New England two weeks ago. In the month of October, the freshman has matches of 20, 7, 15 and 16, 8 and 1 kills, respectively, over the past three weeks. The Sedalia, Colo., native has recorded eight double-doubles, including four-straight matches from Sept as well as the Maroon Classic Tournament MVP. Gibson logged a pair of season-highs against Mercer when she recorded 19 kills and a.381 hitting percentage. Gibson became the first Tiger to eclipse the 20 kill plateau when she paced the offense in the come-back victory over Tulsa on Oct. 3 and cracked the 200-kill plateau on Oct. 10 against UConn. Freshman Oluchi Agomuo has also accounted for 221 kills through the first 23 matches, good for the third-best line on the team. At the Lady Vol Classic, the Texas native set new season-bests in assists (1), kills (16), hitting percentage (.324), digs (15), blocks (4.0) and points (18.0) in Knoxville and in her return trip to Houston, again logged 16 kills and topped her hitting percentage at.381. Agomuo is looking to become the third Tiger of the season to best-200 kills and has at least five kills in all but three matches this season. Agomuo tallied her best performance of the season in the five-set loss to UCF on Friday with 19 kills. 3 scouting report Scouting the Pirates ECU enters the match on Sunday after fighting off Cincinnati on Friday in five sets to improve to 10-8 on the season and 3-6 in conference play. Sydney Darden leads the offense with 190 kills. Ashley McRae swings at a.368 clip after downing 153 kills thus far. As a team, the Pirates are hitting at an even.200, but allowing opponents to hit at.215. Tigers win Maroon classic On Sept , Memphis went 4-0 at the Maroon Classic hosted by Mississippi State to bring the tournament crown back to the Bluff City. Freshman Kate Gibson was named the tournament s Most Outstanding Player after recording double-digit kills in all four matches, three of which only last three sets. Senior Aleksandra Petronijevic and junior Alexis Wesley were also named to the All-Tournament teams after stellar performances by the upperclassmen. Back-To-Back Tourney Champs The Blue and Gray notched consecutive-tournament championships for the first time since 2011 with victories over Mercer, Tennessee, Montana State and Austin Peay at the Lady Vol Classic. Senior Lauren Wright was named the tournament MVP after posting 42 kills and a.491 swing percentage. Junior Veronica Zimmerman and freshman Oluchi Agomuo were both named to the All-Tournament team after top-flight efforts. quick hits The Tigers have already surpassed their win total from a year ago even though the squad has 11 matches remaining on the schedule. A win on Sunday would tie the most conferece wins for the Tigers in the past seven seasons. At 17-6 this is the teams best start under head coach April Jauregui. Memphis is the No. 1 team in the American Athletic conference in opponents hitting percentage (.148) and digs (1,203). The Tigers also rank third in blocks with 2.19/set Wright continues to choose her shots wisely on the court. The senior is on pace to finish fourth in school history in hitting percentage for a career and her.341 number this year would rank fifth all-time. Wesley broke into the 100 block plateau for the season on Sunday against USF. The junior needs 18 block-assists to move into tenth-place on the all-time single-season list and 14 kills to eclipse 200. Catlin Lilly leads the team with aces (23) and ranks ninth in the American with 0.26 aces/game. Senior Aleksandra Petronijevic and junior Lindsey Purvis also have 20 aces on the season. Memphis could easily have five players with more than 200 kills over the coming weeks. Gibson (239), Wright (235) and Agomuo (221) have eclipsed the plateau while Lilly (190) and Wesley (186) are all within striking distance of the achievement. The Blue and Gray have excelled on the road through the season thus far, going 7-1 at true away games and 6-2 at neutral site games.
