1 Lifetime Achievement Award honoree: Hines Ward Event Overview: In its 77 th year, the Dapper Dan Dinner & Sports Auction is Pittsburgh s original, largest and most prestigious sports banquet. The event celebrates athletic accomplishment and honors Pittsburgh s best in college and professional sports. Dapper Dan Charities will present a Lifetime Achievement Award to Steelers great Hines Ward. The award will be presented by his former coach, Bill Cowher. Jimmie Sacco, Heinz Field executive director, will receive the Dr. Freddie Fu Sports Leership Award. The 2012 Sportsman of the Year Award will be presented to Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen and the Sportswoman of the Year Award will be presented to Penn State soccer player Taylor Schram. More than 150 autographed sports memorabilia and one-of-a kind auction items will be available for bid in the live and silent auctions. Corporate sponsors have the opportunity to network with Pittsburgh s top business and community leers, plus the biggest names in Pittsburgh sports. Sponsors receive tremendous media exposure and association with one of the region s most-recognized brands. Proceeds from all Dapper Dan Charities events help fund the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania and other local charities.
