2 1. INTRODUCTION The 2018 edition of the CEV Volleyball European League is a truly historic one since it involves teams from as many as 26 National Federations. The top tier, the Golden League features the 12 best teams in Europe as per the CEV National Team ranking list, with the exception of those participating in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Nations League. The top two teams from the Golden European League will qualify to the inaugural FIVB Challenger Cup. Eventual winners will contest home and away playoff matches against the lowest-ranked from the four Challengers featuring in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Nations League; with a spot in the 2019 edition of the elite FIVB competition at stake. PARTICIPANTS AND COMPETITION FORMAT Participants: 12 teams according to European Ranking (not participating in the 2018 FIVB Nations League) Page 2 of 10

3 Competition Format: League Phase 3 Pools of 4 teams each. Pool composition according to serpentine system based on the CEV National Team ranking list. Home & Away matches. 6 matches per team in League phase (2 matches per week). Last ranked team will be relegated to the next edition of the CEV Volleyball Silver European League. Final Phase Final 4 tournament 1 organiser + 3 pool winners. If organiser is among the pool winners the best 2 nd ranked team from all pools will qualify respectively. The winner and runner-up will qualify to the 2018 FIVB Challenger Cup. The organiser is also required to compete in the League Phase. 3. OFFICIALS TO BE APPOINTED BY CEV In order to decrease the costs for the organisers, the CEV will appoint officials for each match as follows: 1 st Referee: International Referee neutral 2 nd Referee: International Referee local CEV Supervisor: local Page 3 of 10

FINANCIAL CONDITIONS Participation fee for single gender is 25,000 EUR, double gender: EUR 45,000 (same deduction of 5,000 EUR in case of one team in the 2018 CEV Volleyball Golden European League and one team in the 2018 CEV Volleyball Silver European League. The CEV bears the costs for the international transportation and per diem of the 1 st referee. Prize money for the matches in the League phase: 2,000 EUR for the winning team and 1,000 EUR for the defeated team. Prize money for the Final phase standing: 125,000 EUR for the winner. 80,000 EUR for runner-up. 60,000 EUR for 3rd place. 40,000 EUR for 4th place. Organiser fee for Final Four tournament: 50,000 EUR. 6. TV & MARKETING TV benefits & requirements: National TV rights to all home matches (1st party rights) All matches shall be produced Minimum TV production standard B for all home matches preferable Internet streaming rights can be cleared with Sportradar, however production standard with minimum 3 cameras mandatory. Marketing rights: 80% on- and off-court advertising spaces for all home matches. 7. 8 11. DYNAMIC ADVERTISEMENT SYSTEM LED SYSTEM Organisers may apply for the use of a dynamic advertisement system according to article B and of the CEV Volleyball Competitions Regulations. 9 CEV FORM 04 1 ST PERIOD PLAYER LICENSES Women / Men: April 22 nd 2018 Participants shall register a number of players according to article of the CEV Volleyball Competitions Regulations CEV FORM 04 2 ND PERIOD PLAYER LICENSES Women / Men: Until 23:59 two days before the each leg at the League phase only All participants have the possibility to apply for two (2) supplementary player licenses using the CEV 04 form within the set deadlines. Team can have up to 26 players licenses it total TRAVEL TICKETS (20 days before) Women / Men: Two weeks before respective leg The CEV is providing the 1 st Referee with the travel tickets and Organisers shall provide travel tickets to a CEV Supervisors and 2 nd Referee according to article 75.2 of the CEV Volleyball Competitions Regulations. Official Regulations: CLICK HERE CEV 09 FORM Women / Men: 2 weeks before each respective leg All participants are required to duly complete and close the CEV 09 Form (Team Registration) See the CEV Official Regulation art B 1. COMPETITION HANDBOOK On the arrival of the Teams and CEV officials at the Competition venue Competition Handbook shall be issued by Organisers according to art of the CEV Volleyball Competitions Regulations. This Handbook must be approved by the appointed CEV Supervisor. Official Regulations: CLICK HERE Bulletin Contents: CLICK HERE CEV 09bis FORM Before Preliminary Inquiry Each team must complete and close the CEV 09bis form inside the CEV Database. (Final Team Registration) The maximum 14 players listed on the CEV 09bis form must have a valid CEV license. 14. TEAM COMPOSITION Participating teams are permitted to have a team delegation composed according to article of the CEV Volleyball Competitions Regulations. Page 9 of 10

10 15. COMPETITION BULLETIN / HANDBOOK LAYOUT The official Competition Bulletin / Handbook shall be prepared by the organiser. The latter must mandatorily use the official layout template available for downloading on the CEV ftp server. The Bulletin and Handbook must be approved by the appointed CEV Supervisor only. 16. SOCIAL MEDIA AND OFFICIAL #HASHTAGS As you will be aware, CEV now operates on four social media platforms, namely: Facebook ( Twitter ( YouTube ( Instagram ( National Federations are requested to link to these whenever posting or tweeting about the competition. We are also able to confirm that the official #hashtags for use are: #Volleyball when referring to the sport of Volleyball #EuroLeagueM for the Men s competition #EuroLeagueW for the Women s competition 17. FINAL PHASE BIDDING Following the discussion during the EL meeting and further to the mutual agreement between FIVB and CEV the dates of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Golden European league have been changed as follows: Final Four Men June (Wednesday Thursday) Final Four Women June (Thursday Friday) Please find below the main points with regard to the organisation of the 2018 CEV Golden European League Final Phase: Application deadline is 31 st January 2018 latest Competition hall Category 1 (minimum 5000 seats) Match Technology Challenge system and Large video screen (both mandatory) 100 % National TV rights 100% Ticketing income, 100 % event merchandising, 100 % side events and fan zone income Visibility: 70 % on- and off-court advertising spaces, LED system mandatory; 4 floor stickers For more details please refer to the Terms and Conditions copied again to this communication.
