A complete team video room equipped with brand-new padded desktop chairs was added in August. Only six middle blockers qualified for the program, including Benson. After a five-day training session in May, the U.S. Women s National A2 program split into two 12-player rosters to compete in the Open Division of the 2009 USA Adult Open Championships from May in Minneapolis. Benson and her team, USA Blue, won six of nine matches to earn a third-place finish in the Open Division. The competition was really good. There were girls that are six-foot-six in the middle blocker position who could touch ridiculous. It was a lot of fun, but also a lot of work at the same time. It was a great opportunity to represent Indiana on a national stage. --Ashley Benson 22

It was an opportunity I just couldn t pass up. I ve returned to Bloomington for the second semester of summer classes and I am on track to graduate in December with my degree in Therapeutic Recreation. The resulting horseshoe layout will connect the East and West stands and enhances the gameday atmosphere on football Saturdays. The concourse level, which enables fans to walk from the East to West sides inside the gates, will feature new concession areas and men s, women s and family restrooms. u The North End Zone Facility, in combination with the new Academic Resouce Center - to be located underneath the East side of the stadium, will create an innovative, unique compound for student-athletes. u The Academic Resource Center s 18,000-square-foot layout will dramatically expand the facility to provide more computers, study areas and offices for private sessions. 24

Haugh Track & Field Complex, Varsity Tennis Courts, Tennis Center, IU Field Hockey Field, John Mellencamp Pavilion and the 50-meter Counsilman Aquatics Center and Billingsley Diving Well in the Student Recreational Sports Complex (SRSC). IU is in the midst of a $55 million facilities enhancement plan which includes a new basketball practice facility, new baseball and softball stadiums and the enclosure of the North End Zone of Memorial Stadium to add new football and administration offices, a new strength and conditioning center, an academic center, spectator seating and a Hall of Champions. 26
